Question about rooted Verizon Tab 2 7.0 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My wife just got a VZW Tab 2 7.0 and I am thinking about rooting it and unlocking the bootloader as described here using method 3 and here.
I'm wondering if anyone that has used this has seen the flash counter get tripped and if you have the triangle? I thought about Chainfire's triangle away app but it doesn't specifically list the SCH-I705 so I'm not sure if it'll work.
If this were my device I'd go for it and see what happens, but it isn't and I don't want her unhappy with it. She has a rooted Thunderbolt, but it is flawless, so she has high expectations. If you have used these methods I would really appreciate your input.
Thanks

[Q] Bought a note 2 i317m was rooted until an update and now its not rooted

Ok...I bought a note 2 i317m from a guy and it was rooted...I think he also uses cf-autoroot...but the day I got it, I did a reset and if relocked the phone and it says its not rooted when u open super su. It was unlocked using the software method..like when its on 4.1.1 u can go into settings and unlock. Not sure what its called but u guys know the method im sure. The guy did some patching to he said..Don't know anything about patching but the phone has odin mobile and super SU on it still and they are not in the file manager?? I am fairly new to this stuff..like I have had every android I have ever owned unlocked and rooted and wanted to stop paying for it so I started doing it myself. Only Samsung models so far and only using chainfire methods. When I try to root now it says it cant open/find? (CoM) port. Just wondering if anyone kniw anything I can do or what the problem may be? Please help if possible..and thanks guys.

[Q] SCH-I925 (Verizon)

There are a few threads but they've started to get clogged with information for other devices, so I'm starting this thread (since this is Q&A). This is SCH-I925 Verizon LTE Specific.
I got the Note 10.1 *Verizon Variant* on Monday because it was on sale, but I'm well within my return period for that device. If I may ask your honest opinion, do you think we'll ever get Root for the VRAMK1 Firmware for the Note 10.1? I realize it's an "older" device but if I could at least root and unlock it and put either a custom Kernel or CM on it, the Tablet should be fine for another year or two .Do you think that Root will be achieved, or not....yup, that's how important Rooting the device is to me, but I'm locked in with Verizon unfortunately, and if there's no real hope, then I'll just return it. I wish I could downgrade it to an older FW and use the Root Exploits that were available, but I can't even find the older FW online.
I've been looking for the same thing for months now.

Got a buncha questions for you guys

Hello, my roommate has a Verizon Galaxy S3. He recently took the 4.4 update, and it apparently screwed up his phone pretty bad. He gets terrible battery life and force closes and freezing. He came into my room knowing that I'm an android nerd and he asked me to root and rom his phone. Cool.
So, now I'm trying to catch up on the current state of the GS3.
He has never rooted or installed recovery. I was under the impression that the Verizon GS3 had an unlocked bootloader, but now I'm reading that the bootloader might be locked since he updated?
1: Is it possible to ODIN back to an earlier version and then unlock his bootloader?
2: What's JTAG?
3: Is there an easy way to install recovery on 4.4 that I'm missing?
Any links or advice you guys could give me would be really helpful... I'm currently reading and jumping between links, but It's hard to figure out where the phone currently stands with all the conflicting information out there and the new update that just pushed.

1: No, it is not possible to ODIN back to unlock the bootloader. Your friend is stuck on 4.4.2.
2: JTAG is a service you can send your phone off for and pay for to unbrick a hard bricked phone. As long as you or your friend do not hard brick his phone, you won't need a JTAG.
3: You cannot install any kind of standard recovery on 4.3.1 or 4.4.2 on the Verizon Galaxy S3. There is an unofficial safestrap you may be able to use on 4.4.2 found here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797314 But there are no ROMs to flash using safestrap, so for the moment it is kind of pointless.
There really isn't conflicting information in these threads unless you are looking at old, outdated threads on rooting. All of the information anyone needs to know about the current state of the Verizon Galaxy S3 can be found in just a few threads:

S6/S7 Root clarification?

This may be a bonehead question but...
I've been reading some of the forums for a few days now and Im at my wits end with not being able to root my Verizon Galaxy S6 (SM-G920V) due to bootloader blockage. I am noticing that it is seemingly possible to root an S7 on Verizon though. How is this possible considering the same stipulations, and an S6 being the more outdated phone??
On the S6 i believe it's possible via CF-AutoRoot, however, mine (G920W8) got it's IMEI/EFS lost and corrupted by the stock recovery it flashes back so not really recommend using it.
Protip: don't get Verizon Locked devices if you are willing to Root
