Motorola Atrix 2 official 4.1 leak guide - Motorola Atrix 2

First of all,
DISCLAIMER: I am not, in any way, responsible for any damage to your phone. I am not a developer nor a person who will be able to help you much with a problem. I am merely writing this guide as I felt a bit lost when I wanted to flash the update and hope to save you from confusion by explaining what I did. So, any problems such as "My phone isn't switching on!" or "My phone just erupted in a blaze!" or "My dog ate my phone the minute I flashed the update" cannot be directed to me. I hope I am clear.
Second of all, this is NOT for AT&T. It is an ASIAN version made by MotoChina and so, do NOT flash it on your US models as it will result in a brick. Hardware differences. You have been warned. And for those of you who wish to flash it, you can do so on Gingerbread or ICS and you do not need root. I have tested flashing on ICS only, though.
Now, I want to explain a couple of things. This is my first thread/ guide and I hope it helps. I'm new to XDA, so, don't fire at me if I'm doing something wrong. I believe I am justifying why I'm writing this thread with:
These reasons- I was very excited to flash the update but like some of you might be, I was a newcomer to the tweakings of the Atrix 2 and was scared of bricking my phone. I had searched around a lot, unsure of what to do until I found a way. This way might be obvious to many but if someone doesn't know, I hope they can use it. It worked wonders for me. I also want to include a guide with good points about the ROM.
Again, I am not responsible for any damage. Please take care of your own belongings. God, I sound like a school teacher.
Now that all the yada yada is out of the way, let me get to it. The first thing you'll want to do is download the ROM. Now, the original site is in Chinese and kinda slow, so I have a link from my 4shared account. Here you go:
http://www.4shared.com/archive/LqRerwzY/fastboot-p3_edison-edison-user.html
For those who want the original link: http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=250540&uk=3844247212 (click on the button next to the blue one to download)
While that downloads, You'll want to back up everything you can on your phone. If you're not rooted, try Go Backup
If you are rooted, and if you don't already have it, try Titanium Backup
Backup anything you feel is important. Note, if you're not rooted, the data of your apps will be deleted. Games specially, will be started from scratch. Think about of your high score, eh?
After backing up all your files, you're almost ready to start flashing. Just download this to get done: RSD
Original link here for non 4shared peoples
Now, install RSD and follow what I'm telling.
To make it a tad easier, place the ROM on your desktop. This'll make it easy to find. Next, open RSD Lite. I'll try adding screenshots but I'm adding a written guide too.
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
After opening RSD, switch off your mobile and put it in fastmode (volume down+ power buttons) and connect it to the computer using your USB cable. After connecting, you'll find a "USB port type" and it's status as connected. This means that it's ready. Click on it for it to show unimportant device properties.
After this click on the button with three dots and locate the ROM in your computer (finding it on the desktop is easy). After this, you'll get a pop-up. There, click "Uncompress only"
Once the file is uncompressed, click on start to start flashing the ROM. This'll take a while. There'll be text saying something like "installing xyz 4/19" or whatever but ignore it all. It might also reboot a couple of times but it's all good. Save the heart attack for your later years.
Once the whole process is over, you'll get a little sign saying that it passed. This means that your ROM has been flashed. Note- do NOT remove your phone/ let your phone or computer switch off. You do not want to go there. Make sure everything has enough charge.
Now... This step is very important... Reeboot your phone and..... You're done! That's it! Your phone now runs official(kinda) Jelly Bean(4.1)! It's all in Chinese but you can change language at the start. Whew! Nerve wrecking, huh?! Well, all that's left is to enjoy the Jelly Bean goodness(with a slightly nasty bite of MotoBlur)but wait! Here's a great guide by answersamir on how to root your phone with it's new tasty snack!
Here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36576365#post36576365
For those who want a little preview before flashing the ROM, look here-
My initial impression? Pretty good! It's mostly been uphill from there. I've faced some problems with GPS and internet but I think I messed with my phone too much for it's own good. Even if you have the same GPS problems, the app GPS fix, works miracles. I adore it.
Anyway, this ROM is very stable and can be used for everyday life. It multitasks with ease and has a battery life that lasts me a good few hours with heavy usage. It's also an improvement on ICS due to Jelly Bean's Project Butter. I guess, being an official ROM and all must have something to do with it.
I'll post a few screenshots but I must say this, Google Now and all of Jelly Bean's AMAZING features are worth the risk anyday! It really changes your phone experience and makes it smoother. Even the predictable keyboard is awesome! It has whatever you can imagine and it even has a Jelly Bean camera, along with the Motorola camera app. Internal memory has been increased. Oh, one point that may disappoint some people- Root Explorer is in Chinese and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to fix that. I find this app pretty good though. Cheers and happy Jelly Beaning
Again, this is my first post and I know there's already a guide but I thought this gave a bit more insight into the ROM and gave clear instructions on how to flash it. Thank you all for reading this far. See the little button at the left hand corner below the post named "Thanks"? Ya, please give that a little tap if I helped you
And if anyone is interested, The Wallpaper I'm using is Ditalix's live wallpapers. Lovely ones. Check it out here
and the clocks are by Anti Matter from yours truly. You can see the list here.
Thanks again and I hope you liked it and I helped at least someone.
Please post any questions that I may be able to help with.
Credits go to the makers of the ROM and the people who have come up with methods to upgrade and root. I own nothing. Well, maybe except the dog eating the phone.
Happy Jelly Beaning! XD :good:

It might bode well for newcomers to use "One Click Root" as per my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141779
Also it is better to install & use RSD 6 - get it here https://hotfile.com/dl/174582400/60ad26d/RSDLite_6.0.rar.html
The Jelly bean toon screenshots (are those wallpapers?) & how did you achieve the battery %age & temp in the notifications & what is that counter besides whatsapp icon?
Hit thanks if it helps any of you. Cheers ~ RAD7

First, we know how to do this. It's was explained so many times already.
But, if somebody doesn't know, well. However, this should be in general section. This section is only for downloads of roms.

What about Webtop? Is it working? And can we downgrade to stock ics after flashing this?
Sent from my MB865 using xda app-developers app

webtop is working and you can flash back to ICS ,better stop posting in new threads ,use already established leak 1 thread otherwise we may get confused with all posts here and there

More n more of these non U.S. AT&T posts make me SMH...(sorry, just a bit salty we're not getting JB and frankly tired of seeing these) Has anyone ever suggested a side forum for China/Asia retail? Seems to clutter up a lot to the point where U.S. has nothing to look at anymore...

My phone, originally was MB865, and it is international. AT&T it's not the only who has MB. So, i don't think so.

A Side "Forum" for China/Asia Retail??? Please do remember that "Wanggjghost" has contributed a lot to A2, please be considerate. What do you think would have happened if 591fan, Weibo, baidu gave us the boot?? It's unfortunate that AT&T is not on to this despite Jim's best efforts to port it & if you are reading up he has yet said he would be giving us something to look forward to in the near future once he is a bit free from Ubuntu devlpmnts & that includes I'm guessing some iteration of Ubuntu port on A2 (after all the Android kernel & drivers are to work with Ubuntu mobile OS).
Agree with Brian on section for posting. It's covered & he could have posted it in a existing relevant thread but it is fully graphically illustrated for newbies & he did say it's his first post, we've all goofed @ the beginning a bit I'm sure but humility and respect are expected from noobs at the very least.

Hey all. Thanks for telling me about this. I just wanted to provide a proper guide for newbies. Should I take this down and post it in the general? I'm sorry for breaking the rules. I'll do what I'm supposed to. So, could you please tell me if I should take it down from here and put it in the general forums?

The Jelly Beans floating around is a part of the Android system. The Androids floating behind it is a wallpaper. Ditalix. I posted a link at the end of the thread. check it out. They are awesome.
The battery percentage is due to an app named Battery Indicator. Pretty useful and it uses the "1% hack" trick to show as every percent of your charge falls

Is Internet and wifi working?
Just want to know that 3G and wifi is working or not?
Did you find any other bugs?

Wifi works. I connected to a hotspot of another device. I haven't tested 3G yet but I think it should work as it is the leak of an official ROM. I've only found a problem with the GPS but the app "GPS Fix" has worked for me each time.

Actually, just click the triangle with the "!" in it, on the first post in this thread, and ask that the moderators move this thread to the general section.
I would not worry too much, since you are still getting used to the rules, but I would go back and review them once again before you make anymore "new" threads.
We usually give people a break once or twice before totally going off on them.... LOL...

If you keep clicking on the line that tell you the version, it opens up a page with a giant jelly bean on it.If you long press on that jelly bean, it takes you to a screen with jelly beans floating around with your wallpaper as the background. It's fun to play with xD Every version since Gingerbread has something in this screen

Camera works just fine. I remember taking a real good photo with flash and comparing it to an iPhone 4S's camera. The Jelly Bean camera app is just lovely. The way the images are shown and can be deleted are all amazing. Lovely feature

4/27) fixxxedROM V3.0 / based off fresh 2.0d / no sense

I give you my fixxedROMV3.0 folks! it's a 2.1 vanilla based rom and it's going to be solely based fresh 2.0d plus a **** ton of other goodies that i borrowed from various themes.
Screenies, apps included and instructions included are in the 2nd post. credits go to just about everyone on here but to name a few:
flipz
VinceOB
damage
chubbzlou
regaw_leinad
TrevE
toastcfh
JsChiSurf
tkirton
GODZSON
xda in general for putting up with my bull****
Im also not good at answering a ton of questions and fulfilling requests but ill try my best.
FULL WIPE required before flashing this rom. Also make sure your card is partitioned for swap/ext3/fat before flashing. you must have your sd card partitioned because this rom comes built with apps2sd.
DOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.4shared.com/file/_-a19Kwl/FixxxedRomV30_signed.html
NOTES: This rom is a "stripped of all sense" version of the flipz 2.0d rom. The profile & prl will update fine in this rom. When the phone first boots and your on the setup screen you will notice the signal & data may drop out for a minute, it's because it is applying flipz custom prl fix. The battery life is good and there is NO awake time issues at all.
It has an older version of apps2sd pre-installed and dalvik is not moved. I have attached a newer update zip for apps2sd, just flash from recovery, this will move all dalvik & cache to the sd. It may take awhile for your phone to boot after flashing this.
"I recommend flashing this update zip before you install any apps and wait to flash it until you have set up the rom initially.".... DO NOT use another version of apps2sd other than what i have attached, this is the only version that does not seem to freeze the phone up. If you don't want to use apps2sd and move the cache, then DO not flash this.
JIT: I successfully have JIT enabled on "my" hero. I couldn't for some reason incorporate this into the rom itself. We will have to wait for Trev to update his app or for a possible other fix. To get JIT enabled on my rom follow this guide "word for word", i can confirm it works: http://sholes.id.au/how-to/#jit
ENJOY!
Apps included are:
aosp camera
apps2sd "older version"
custom gray dialer
palm pre theme
vanilla rotate 2.0 lockscreen
audio & alarm fix included
quickboot
usbmount
autokiller, i recommend the extreme setting
visual voicemail
home switcher app
custom 5 row black vanilla launcher
xda gloss black ime keyboard
onyx blue icons
Change log:
*no longer based on damage or sushi, this is all freshhh baby!"
removed all hints of sense
removed darkstar fonts
added estrongs file explorer
new data icons
added vanilla rotate lockscreen with no arrows fix
removed clock from taskbar
added aosp camera
added quickboot fix
changed rom name in settings

I attached a black version of swype if you want it? for some reason i cannot cook it into the rom. Just unzip and push via adb or put on the sd card and install.
Ive had a few people want the taskbar clock back, i hate it and that's why it's gone but i posted a fix for it. Just download the services zip below, unzip the file and push it to system/framework via adb or the fresh kitchen. Reboot and it should bring it back.
UPDATE - 4/28: Flash the attached zip below from recovery to remove the aosp camera and restore the htc camera if it gives you issue viewing the photos you take.
Opera mini beta 5 apk is down below, i recommend installing it.
* If you want my new sense version of the rom go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=672101

I t will be stripped of all sprint junk and will have no sense, so it's super fast. will come with the aosp dialer, vvm, apps2sd, latest swype and whatever else i feel like throwing in it.
Ill post a full apps list and screenshots when i get it going on my phone. The total install should only be around 85-90mb.

Angry penguin man! Looking forward to testing this ROM out
On a side note, does anyone notice how EVERYONE has a ROM now? There's sooo many anymore that I can't keep them straight and half of them look the same, and they're all based on DamageControl. Not that it's a bad thing!!! I just find it funny.

Exactly why I haven't decided to make a ROM yet, I'm more than happy to theme or create boot screens though.
Plus, I'm already working on building a Kernel... so that's a good enough side project for me, ATM.
I encourage variety! All of them are different in a way... keep em coming and list the changes and I'm good

Create a folder on your SD card called "media".
Inside of that create "audio".

"ringtones" for ringtones.
"alarms" for alarms.
"notifications" for notifications.

Unfortunately, since the Froyo version that initially came on our phone, we've been employing the latest and greatest versions with better features. But all of them have still been betas, and apparently this particular one expired today. I do not know if, or how to modify it to avoid expiration. Nor do I currently know where to pickup the next available version. Instead, I recommend doing what I have just finished doing. Install the swype beta installer.
Here's how:
1. First, using a file explorer delete the following files:
- /system/app/Swype.apk
- /system/lib/libswypecorexxxxx.so [the x's stand in for the exact number]
2. Next, head here to download the installer.
3. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
You do have to sign up to be a tester if you're not already, I have been for some times. I assure you, it's a harmless process and won't flood your email account.
I wish I could make this easier, but for some time now, Swype has only been releasing beta versions and they will all expire at some point.
As a bonus, if you follow my instructions, then your Swype personal dictionary will carry into the new Swype beta!
I have been referenced to a site with some themed editions of the most recent versions.
Also, you can check here for a few simpler themed editions I have built into my latest themes.
Please Note that I believe these alternate versions will still expire at some point, thus, the installer is pre-included into my roms.
How Do I Use This ROM?
Regularly updated installation information available on the download page.
Install Options:
1. Incremental Update over the latest version.
2. Install over another custom rom version.
3. Clean install.
Please Note: If you attempt a clean install over ThunderHawk III Final, you will have to wipe your phone and install a second time in order to override the incremental updater.
Where have you been and why not FC09?
I've been going through a very busy part of my life and am the father of a now one month old baby boy. As for the outdated update, it's been sitting on my computer at about 98% complete since my last release, but that last 2 percent has been holding me up. I finally had some free time to take a look and finish the update.
On that note, I will be digging in to FC09, if Samsung doesn't drop something else first. I've also been toying with CM9, but am still heavily disappointed in battery life... It's still a phone and it needs to have power for phone calls when those times come.
Awesome! Thanks so much.
I was just wondering what you have been upto recently as your are of my favorite devs here. Can't say that I blame you though as I've got a newborn at home now too. Best of luck!
Awesome! Any chance this will pull ahead of CleanGB in battery life?

I couldn't honestly say. Some people will always see different results.
Personally, on the 3 phones I test on, none have seen better battery life than with my own setup.
It's not uploaded yet, but will be up soon-ish (tonight or tomorrow, depending). Information both here and on my site will be updated accordingly later.

Wow. I'm looking forward to seeing this as well.
Using CM9 right now and it's really making progress with Beta2, but there are still a few things keeping it from being a long term daily driver for me.

Been looking forward to your latest release. Tried CM9 (not ready for DD yet) & CleanGB (which is another very good ROM) for a while just for kicks, but let's face it, RandomROM is the bomb!
Hope fatherhood is treating you well. I know you'll hear this a million times, but enjoy every second of it, they really do grow up much faster than you'll want them to.

Fatherhood is great, albeit, busy and loud! But his mother takes the brunt of it while I'm at work half the day! I'm just waiting for him to start playing, then he can slow down .
In the mean time, progress has been had on ThunderHawk IV. A minor change to the theming, and a fight with superuser primarily. Updating apks, adjusting the install process. Trying to get a non-expired Swype. Overall, it's almost there. But I'd like to get this out in one shot, I think I will, so I can play with ThunderHawk V. Damn sprint/samsung and their tiny updates, they often seem a waste of time!
I am guessing that this will be GB and not ICS?

[ICS Only] [ Google Now Ported ] [ Crosspost & Request to Devs]

Guys,
If you haven't seen the thread yet, they've figured out how to get Google Now, normally just for Jelly Bean, working in ICS.
Initially they had it working without the voice features, then someone hacked in a half-attempt which sort of worked.
As of this morning, they've figured out how to get the entire shooting match working, though from what I can tell, there doesn't seem to be a way to get it to work on the Atrix 2 due to space limitations on our /system partition. I was hopeful one of the more knowledgeable devs could take a poke in the thread and see if they could wrangle a way.
Here is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224&page=246
Someone in the thread talks about symlinks to sd-ext, but frankly that makes me a little nervous. Anyway, I'd be curious to see what you all could do with it. As it stands I have been using the original .apk in the OP of that thread without voice for a week or more now and its pretty slick.
I believe they only got this to work with ROM's based off of AOSP, which ours isn't. I saw this as well, but I chose to forego until I hear more bases working.

again, as i said, the initial apk works fine.... albeit without the voice piece... they now have the voice piece working assuming you paste in a bunch of libs and such... again, read the end of the thread where they have posted new info...
I got it to work!!!! HELLL YEA! Works perfectly! Just follow the directions from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29635284&postcount=2439 and then replace the velvet apk from here!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29635290&postcount=2440
I had to push with adb though to get it all working!
I am making a backup of my system that you can probably use...
I've been using it for a couple days. I find the voice search fails more than works. I get retry or that weird bell mostly. I am on scv7 though. I have not tried it with stock. Conceptually it's awesome. I just think I would use it more if it worked in notifications. Jelly bean notification + Google now would be sweet. Of course why not just the Google audio and visual
Implant. It fits nicely under the skin behind your right ear.

Did you copy all the lib files?
@farshad
I might not have used the files in your second link unless the op was updated. Maybe I'll go fresh stock and try again tomorrow. Post your experience with it and let me know if you get the same retry and bells.

I've been playing with t for about an hour... it works near perfectly for me. There are some tiny bugs ie. it lags sometimes but otherwise it's perfect!
He did update the velvet.apk with a new one...
Yes. I'm gonna just try a fresh install tomorrow anyway because of unnecessary tinkering on my part.
That thread blew up. Sooo much to read now its dumb.
Found the leak a week ago and we're already trying to get jelly bean apps working on it. Are we sure the CIA didn't release android to keep us occupied and docile.

I appreciate you giving it a shot. You had plenty of space in /system to get it installed? It seemed awfully close to filling that partition up for me.
Are you on stock 4.0.4?
Again, i'm nervous to risk filling up that partition, especially without a solid backup or anything. Color me cautious.

Can we get paranoid android ported for a2?

Hey guys just wanting to know if anyone knows if we can port the paranoid android ROM to the atrix 2 ? There cm10 ROM for galaxy s3 is above all IMHO mainly for user fun
So can we contact them to port for the atrix 2 or can someone port it them self's?

You are not the first to ask, so please stop asking this question - or do it yourself.
It will come if/when it comes. And I highly doubt that somebody without an A2 will port it for us - but feel free to request that of them.
Btw, I have put some time into porting PA, then I dropped it for a while - since our phone does not play nicely with ports - but I plan on returning to it again.
If someone seriously wants to work on this, PM me.

No, what he was saying is that porting roms without a compile, to our phone just does not seem to end well for any of the devs.
We have had way more success with compiling ROMs from scratch since ICS has showed up for us.
In GB I had compiled several ROMs and had a ton of issues getting them to work well. I then gave up for a while. I had cm7 working for a while with kexec, but that got to be a real pia.
I waited until ICS came out to try again, and I am 98% done with my CM10 compiled version, which I have been working on for almost 2 months now, so..... Long story short compiles are good on the A2, ports are not so good.
BTW a port means to take a working version from another phone with very close hardware to another and "port" it to work on the other phone. We have used the razr and bionic as starting points since they are very close relatives, but we have still had issues. It can also mean to take the code for something like aosp/aokp/cm, and get all the files together that are needed to make the rom work for a phone and start editing code, and then compile it, similar to what wang and I have done with cm10.
I will let alteredlikeness tell you what his thoughts were on his speciic PA port, but this is just a general thing with us.

Yea, what jim said..
And I just really wanted to get PA on my phone - but I need a bigger linux partition on my computer to compile from source - so I decided to just try to port it (tried from 2 diff phones actaully), and I couldn't get past the boot animation or adb recognized after about a million different approaches.
I will still pursue this, but I agree with jim- gotta compile not port

We got a lot of issues to work out, but cogeary and I are doing all we can to bring this to the A2.
One of the major issues is that my phone thinks it's a tablet... that screenshot was originally 768x1366.. and I can only see a small 540x960 window of that over-sized UI (need to turn on 360 rotation and flip the phone to see other areas of the screen)... besides that, there's no wifi, soft keys, or phone call audio - so, it's not usable yet.
This is not an invitation to PM about timelines or progress - so please don't. This is just to let everyone know that cogeary and I are working on this (and an excuse as to why I'm not updating Numa). Thanks to cogeary for answering my call to take on this beast..
If anyone's curious, the idea of porting it is dead - I deleted my Wubi install and installed Ubuntu as a guest in VirtualBox on Win7 for a quick way to get a larger partition - compiling it fresh from source..

Big progress in the last couple days for a usable alpha build - fixed the oversized issue, soft keys, touch sensors, and phone call audio (a sloppy fix IMO, but.. eh, it works - but, as I said earlier, my main intention was just to get this working on my phone)
Still no wifi, and got the common moto cm10 bugs, like the stuttering boot, rotation shrinkage & shrunken screenshot, data is a kinda buggy (works, but two bars), probably other bugs... still not a daily by any means.
And, the Paranoid settings can be a bit tricky.. not sure yet if it's buggy, or it's just me. I will probably be sending out a few test samples to some senior members soon.. watch your inboxes! (and don't call me, I'll call you... well, a few of you can if I forget - but you know who you are)
Big thanks again to cogeary and jimbridgman for their support (and some good old dumb luck/strategy) - now I can get a little more sleep at night.. :silly:

[Q] Why flash custom ROM on SK4G?

First, I am very new at rooting and customizing Android and appreciate any help understanding. Please don't take my questions wrong, the screenshots on these ROMS look amazing and I know more than a few tons of hours went into developing and testing, it really is that I am not comprehending the differences I'm finding.
Thanks to the help of the great tutorials here, my SK4G is now successfully rooted! I've been looking at ROMS now for a very long time and found I am really leaning towards Glorious Overdose v5 or neXus JB.
What I'm wondering though, is why would I go through the trouble and risk of flashing if it is essentially still running froyo? Since it's rooted, could I simply uninstall the junkware and use Holo or ADW for a similar effect and virtually no risk? Of course I do see the difference in the kernal version, but as I said I am new to this and it's just my guess that kernal is even a big difference maker.
I am very obviously missing something here, and though I am searching I'm not quite finding what it is I'm not understanding. Otherwise as the video stated when I signed up... I'm a noob...

Thanks for pointing out Overdose is buggy, I have that and nexus JB downloaded so perhaps I'll go with JB. Admittedly I'm a bit nervous to take that next step and flash. If I brick I have no backup phone, but it looks like the instructions here on this website are pretty clear and easy to follow. Plus, I'm a risk taker lol!
There are many reasons to flash a custom ROM, in addition to what Immortality said: you can flash one that looks and feels more like GingerBread, IceCreamSandwich, JellyBean, etc. You can pick one that isn't so bloated (although once you're rooted, you can pretty easily remove the bloat). I've tried a few, and here are my notes:
GOV33+LEAN-PERFORMANCE-RELEASE - Started out good, but over time SU stopped working, battery life degraded. Liked LauncherPro. Maybe it just needs to be reinstalled
neXus_JB_v1.2 - Colors hard to read (white on gray). Seems like too many unnecessary apps (live wallpapers, etc).
MeMoRy - Based on GOV3.3 Lean. Uses Lightning Launcher, which I didn't like at first, but it's very simple and presumably lightweight. However, the supplied Jelly Bean keyboard keeps crashing. I installed the ICS keyboard and removed the JB keyboard, and this is now the ROM I use.
Windxixi just posted about a new ROM that he says is based on GB and works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42562471#post42562471. Might be worth following.

Thanks for your insight, very much appreciate it. I did see that GB post, looks really interesting. Once someone determines if it's actually upside down as in his pic or not I may just go with that one. Unless it really is upside down, that would seriously drive me nuts!

Sweet, definitely keeping my eyes open on that thread because I know for certain I cannot fix it! I haven't even had the guts to flash a new ROM yet or even delete bloatware, only froze it so far...
i like both gov2 and nexus jb.
both of them smooth like a charm

I can say that the ROM is not upside down:

But I still wouldn't use it if this is your only phone. Keyboard does not work so you are stranded with a virtual keyboard. Battery life does not seem to be all that great. No buttons work on the actual phone except the power button, trackpad button, and the volume down button. The gyroscope does not work and I have not even set up my SIM on this so I don't know how it works with actual use.

It is my only phone and doesn't look like I'll get to buy a new one any time soon. Thanks for the advice!
