So this is what happened. I was in the middle of using navigation on Trickdroid 7 and my S4 started to reboot and kept rebooting every 15 to 20 seconds. I was able to re-flash trickdroid 7 and everything was ok for the past month- yesterday I flash trickdroid9 everything was OK and I decided to go back to trickdroid 7 because I use wifi a lot. Thats when things got squirrely- I did a factory reset before and after the flash and it would just hang at the HTC logo and disappear. Now, I'm stuck at it being in CWM only, can't seem to even be able to get to the bootloader anymore. even by power and volume down.
Any hope of recovering? Any input would be appreciated.
Dan
Thats what happens when you use a crappy recovery.
Keep trying vol- and power. Once you get into bootloader flash twrp.

Dude you should pimp my thread for this stuff lol.
After a good hour of trying I finally got TWRP installed..... I was able to push trickdroid 7 but it gets to the 1st HTC boot screen and just goes blank. Wait about 10 minutes....
Any further suggestions of what to push?
Thanks for the help so far.
Dan
OK- thanks. Back in business. I flashed the trickdroid7 Kernal and BAM! working again.

I'm not sure if this would work for you or not. If you turn the phone off, and then hold volume up and push the power button (hold both) until you get to the bootloader interface. If you can get there, you should be able to install the clockwork recovery and put on a custom rom. But on the other hand, if you did nothing to it in the first place, maybe you should take it back and get a new one?
I finally got a hold of a G2X for T-Mobile and decided to root it. I installed Cyanogen Mod V7 and was happy with some of the tweaks but not fully satisfied. So I tried to revert back to the stock operating system. I had made a backup not a nandback up in ClockWorkMod from the stock firmware when I first rooted the phone, and I decided to go back and restore from that back up. Everything was going good up until the LG boot logo. Where it never ventured past the screen it just got stuck. I waited for 15 minutes with nothing happening .Now im stuck in an infinite loop!
I tried pressing the power + the volume- button but it still continues with the loop. Also the computer reads the USB but when I try to access the contents it says error. Im scared I bricked the phone . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

doubtful.....
After the LG logo stopped I then took out the battery and read in some forums that holding the volume and power button would restore it but unfortunately it didnt. Im on the process of doing nvflash but it asks me to hold down the volume buttons and its doesnt go beyond that.

I'm not the best at this stuff but I think you needed to put nvflash on before you did any of this.
I got the clockwork recovery working. So im happy now should I just go to the stock firmware or should I just tinker again with the cyanogen mod?
If you have clockwork recovery through nvflash you are safe. At this point flashing stocking or cm7 is really up to you.

Chill out. Assuming you installed Clockwork, pull the battery, then put it back in. After that, just hold down Volume Down + Power. When you get to the bootloader screen, wait a few seconds, then go down to recovery. After that, flash whatever you were trying to flash.
i have similar situation as u.
that was my flyer, the reason is i don't have enough batter to wake it......
so .... make sure your power is enough....

How do you mean? I tryed everything in the bootloader
Best thing to do is start from the top. I would reflash everything in order again after wipeing it clean of what ever you tried to install.
hi there,
I'm running CM11 nightly late feb. For no apparent reason my phone went into a boot loop this morning (n.b. I didn't flash a new rom or installed a new app). Now it constantly reboots (literally) and doesn't get further than the CM11 boot video or google logo.
If I press volume down and power, it will head into bootloader - but - I can't navigate beyond 'shut down' or 'restart bootloader'. It doesn't execute two consecutive volume up or down commands. In other words, it's impossible to get into recovery mode. Also, because my phone doesn't boot further than the video or logo, I can't make a fastboot or adb connection via my laptop.
Does anybody know how I can fix this issue? I'm clearly running out of luck. Many thx in advance!
reflash recovery?
Try to boot into recovery with cmd: fastboot boot TWRP.img (TWRP or your current custom recovery)
Then restore a nandroid backup or wipe data/system/dalvik
You can still flash the factory images. Fastboot mode is enough. Guide

can't flash anything, because phone is constantly rebooting. Have opened up the phone and took the battery out for 1 minute. Didn't help either. After starting up the phone I get stuck in the boot loop again.
Anyone else an idea?

The phone doesn't reboot in the bootloader right?
If it doesn't either do what primokorn said or flash the factory image.

Well the issue is that it only stays for a fraction of a second in bootloader, which gives it enough time to navigate one step up or down. Not enough time to get into recovery.
How can I do what Primoken said? It doesn't seem to be possible to do a flash when the phone is constantly rebooting?
Thx for helping me out guys, much appreciated!

Have you ever kept your phone in narrow pocket? Because it's definitely sounds to me like a stuck power button.

It's not a power issue. Also unscrewed my phone to see if that was what caused it. Nothing in there, mechanism functioned correctly.
UPDATE: For some reason my phone booted up out of nothing. I managed to flash an older ROM via CM Updater (through settings)- which seemed to work. Apps were updated and it was running normally. But after a couple of minutes it restarted out of the blue and now back to square one again.
Guess there's a chance I'll probably get a normal start up soon. Is it a good idea to do a factory whipe restart through the settings menu? Or is Primokorn's method safer?

Hi,
this is my first topic and post so don't blame . On last Friday (05.31.2014) I was at school but it was free day so i was enjoying my 1 month old N5. I was using Elix-R rom with kernel included in this ROM. When I was sitting on Google Play my phone did soft reboot but bootanimation was ''scratching'' and bugging. I had decided to do a restore but i was done in 14 second so i knew something went wrong. When I tried to reboot my phone was stuck on google logo and it was rebooting to the same state over and over again (after about 10 seconds). When I came home i tried to flash stock rom's images but i got the same result. oh, and I forgot. When i was restoring, TWRP boot again but it was still restoring. I had some CM zips so i flashed them but it didnt help either. After flashing stock i had tried to access stock recovery but i got same result as before(Google logo). Some time ago I read about temporary booting recovery so i tried it but i didn't help. On Saturday I boot up phone again and i saw stock rom's bootanimation ''scratching'' and loading again as before after ''soft reboot'' on Friday. Now I've locked and re-unlocked bootloader again but i forgot about typing ''fastboot reboot'' in cmd. I've just clicked Power button on N5 and small android with loading bar appeared but after several seconds it stopped and booted again. I accessed the bootloader again and flashed stock images. Then locked/unlocked again and my phone is not booting and i cant access any recovery.
I really dont know what to do. I haven't modified my kernel or something. I haven't done anything bad - I was just surfing the internet and downloading apps from GP. I hope you'll understand all because I'm sure my English is not good enough. Thank you guys for help already

Well then you should be fine. If your bootloader is still unlocked flash a custom recovery via fast boot then flash a ROM/gapps/su.
