[Q] Which phone should i buy ? - General Questions and Answers

Presently i am using nokia 3120 classic.I want to buy a android phone with good camera quality and should run all hd games smoothly, good screen size and battery life .My budget is around 200$ and can extend up to 250$(if required).
I was thinking of getting a micromax superfone canvas 2(a110).Will it be a wise decision or should I choose any other phone.
I want to know the drawbacks in mmx canvas 2 and how is the camera quality is it worth 8 mp?

I bought sony xperia tipo a month back which is in your price range.
and i am pretty impressed by its performance(though the camera quality sucks).
I think you should have a look at it!
:good:

CyanogenMod 10 Alpha 5™… :/

But it's the least most power full processor... That's what made me refused to buy the Ace 2... The phone seller was also the one who urged me to buy that...
CyanogenMod 10 Alpha 5™… :/

i bought the htc evo 3d a year ago, now it´s rooted and i still have no problems with it
otherwise the new htc one x+ looks very useful and i´m thinking about to buy it :good:
but if you only want to pay 200$ it should be enough for the incredible or htc one

But it's dual core.
If i'm not wrong.Dual core is always better than a single core

I am using Karbonn A9+ (Indian version of Cherry Flare), the fone has good specifications and Karbonn is also coming up with S1 Titanium with Quad-Core Processor, looking into it might be worth.

The Nexus 4 8gb is the best value for money. You'll recieve all the updates quick and first compare to the Galaxy s3 and Motorola's :good:

In your budget Micromax Canvas 2 is a superb mobile phone. You can run hd games easily and camera is also nice.

No it doesn't supports external sd
U can also go for xperia sola
Galaxy grand etc...
But go for dual core single core mobile can never be better than a dual-core one..

I agree with fayosi. I would buy a nexus 4. standard android os w/ no filler and quick updates.

Do not buy nexus 4 u will get better in this price
First of all nexus devices are hard to customize
Second nexus 4 has touch problem u can check its youtube review from pocketnow to find it ex if u use pinch to zoom then it responds Less to it..
Third nexus 4 had throttle problem see youtube I.e when it reaches 36` Celsius it starts to throttle
And ur CPU speed starts to become low
When it reach 40` (this temp is common for such powerful device)Celsius u will see lag in games as CPU speed reaches
CPU freq reaches 1.2 GHz(not too bad from1.5ghz) and gpu freq reaches 200mhz (very bad from 400mhz)
So better don't go for it
it gets update fast but other mobiles also get them in time...

nexus4 is better

HTC desire c because of Android 4.0
Sony xperia u because of dual core and Mali 400 gpu. xperia p is also a good option

I'm using the motorola Fire XT 530 , found it pretty decent.
Rooted it , got link2SD , everything is sorted then... Doesnt lag , its got of the functions , good feel , no reason to complain.
In the same range , Acer liquid Mini or HTC explorer.
if u want to go a bit higher in the range , i'd say the HTC Desire C , HTC one V.
Motorola Defy/Defy+ if you want mid range phone+good xda development
Or live with walkman if you want official ics from oem
They could look at some of last years high-end models if money is a concern
If not - sony xperia ray is highly rated for a smaller mid-range
Samsung galaxy s advance has dual core mali 400 and maybe official android4. Its a great mid range - highend phone

HTC One S if within his budget and doesn't mind the limited storage and non removable battery. HTCs mid range phone but actually quite high end making use of the Krait S4 chip which performs well and certain tasks out benches it's bigger brother. Has an excellent camera on board and really clean audio. Sense 4.0 is really polished and it's thin and light.
Good phone overall.

good specs and performance for that price range but its micromax....... so u have to think.......
or
wait for the price to be reduced....
I am currently using A90... It's a fairly good device not so overwhelming but definitely not undermining...
It packs decent specs and the price is manageable (Rs. 12450)
Pros
AMOLED Screen
Ice cream sandwich
Dual SIM
Light weight
Doesn't look like China phone at all (believe me on this)
Cons
Battery (as it is dual SIM)
Slow performance while multiple apps are running
Camera is not at all astonishing even if 8MP
No custom ROMs (hope to get it soon)
I have seen Karbonn A18 and it looks bulky compared to this phone.
If you want to wait then you should wait for Samsung galaxy s duos... it is extremely similar to GSIII form factor and updates and custom ROMs will be available

I have the evo 3d and love it. It has android 2.3, ics or jb. Films in 3d. I've had mine for three months and got it from am ex gf who had it since the first day. No hardware problems and no issues with quality.
They're also really cheap on Craigslist and come in both cdma and GSM for whichever network you use.
Good luck choosing your new phone.

Could you please elaborate why do you think the Defy+ is very good?
Xperia Arc S =)
Pro:
+ 8 MB Camera wich takes good quality Images
+ cheap (~250$)
+ ICS 4.0.4
+ 1.5GHz CPU
+ 4,2 inch display
Contra:
- Single Core CPU
- ~300MB internal storage (but 8GB SD-Card included)
- Xperia Gallery

3. Huawei Ascend P1.

Cons. Price kinda high, camera isn't epic like xperia
4. HTC Sensation (XE)
Pros. Everything else
Cons. It's not "the latest"so finding a new one is a hunt and needs a ROM to shine.

Ya sure ,
I ve installed stick cricket, stick tennis , temple run , ninjump classical , nin jump deluxe, speed car , paper toss ,Engadget , offline dictionary, xda app,e what's app ,viber , talking tom , hand cent, hide it pro n some live wallpapers .....
Only for temple run while loading u will find little lag but game runs smoothly n rest all runs perfect ........ U ve 1.7 GB user available which is most needed
More imp it is water n dust resistant out of box it comes with ginger bread 2.3.6 n has 1GHz processor powered by cortex a8 ..... but u can successfully root n upgrade better n stable ROM in future ..... U can over clock till 1.3GHz(depends on ur device as it varies)
Defy+ has powervr 530 gpu which is better than adreno gpu available in that range ......
with 13k price tag n comparing reliability of all phones it is best

[Help] Gaming Phone for 2013

Hi! I am looking to buy a new phone for this chritsmas, i really like the Xperia play but my concern is that the phone gets too "old" to run the latest games that come out. so if you got any recomendation for another phone in the same rank of price? 200$-250$
Let me know your opinions!
You're right the Xperia play is getting rather old. If you can pay a little more than 250, the nexus 4 is stupidly powerful, and therefore should be pretty good for games. Really anything with a dual core processor, mali 400 gpu, or a dual core processor with an adreno 220 or higher should be good for gaming and last you a fairly long time.

I agree. The first thing I would do would be to see how much development is going on. Because all of the speed comes not only from hardware but also from those nice custom mods, like CM

Xperia z1 or Note 3??

Xperia z1 and note 3 are both officially debut. With the spec confirmed, which you guys will go for it? Or definitely get both??

I'm waiting on the reviews before jumping on either.
While the Z1 is great I can't help but feel a little disappointed. No OIS, no Xenon, huge bezels. And if the video play back is really a mere 6.6 hours as Sony themselves are claiming, one then has to ask how long will you be able to browse for? Cause that's pretty weak.
Still, I'm gonna wait until I see some objective reviews before deciding on either. And there's always the One Max right around the corner too.
Xperia z1 is really nice im looking more into that phone over the note 3. Note 3 specs sounds good im just dissapointed by the hardware they couldve really been innovative. I like the xpreria hardware ..note 3 specs are great but who really needs 3gb of ram i had the note 2 and it was fine with 2g of ram and the 1.5 processor

The same thing was said about the 2gb of ram, and also when 1gb devices came out etc...
Plus the ram on the note 3 is fully used as shown in some hands on , leaving just 200mb of free space when multiwindow and pop up apps were used.
