Upgrading from pro os to ent os *Solved* - Microsoft Surface

Anyone know if Windows 8 Pro can be upgraded Windows 8 Enterprise?

In my experience, no. Enterprise, at least with Vista and Win7, was actually a different disk image (not just a different key, like all the other editions). I'm running Ent myself, and had to do a clean install (I was hoping I could install 8 Pro, get Media Center, and then upgrade it to Enterprise for SUA; no dice.

I know you can not upgrade from retail copys. But just wondering if there was a way to load it from a USB or cd rom.

Windows 8 ENT installs no problems.

Explain please? If you meant just "can I install Win8 Enterprise" or even "can I install Win8 Enterprise on the Surface Pro", then the answer was obvious. You asked about upgrading from one specific OS version to another, though. That's not supported. There may have been an option to keep your files, but the previous Windows installation and all associated software would have been lost (except stuff from the store). Or, did you find a way to do an in-place upgrade from Pro to Ent? *That* would actually be interesting and worth posting about.

Windows Mobile 2005...Magician

I found a Windows Mobile 2005 zip file and when I connect it and run HimaUpgradeUt.exe it will say it is going to update...next it checks the device like normal then it does this:

}
then I got scared and pulled the cable out
anyone that went beyond this point?
ps, I know there is supposed to be no WM2005 for Magician, but I just wanted to try...and the screen looks promising, but also a bit dangerous
As far as I know there isn't a WM5 ROM for the Magician. Don't try to upgrade with a Himalaya ROM (which I guess is what you're doing).
Of course, if you HAVE got a WM5 ROM for a Magician then sharing it would be a neighbourly thing to do...
yeah, its a Himalaya ROM
I just want it so bad....its almost stronger then me
no 2 devices have ever been able to share a rom
so even if it would install it would not run
roms only have the drivers of the hardware
they are made for other devices like magician require
other drivers
To all those out there who wish to have WM2005 for your Magicians. I heard of your ill-fated adventures and wish to tell you all how sorry I am. If the skies could fall open and these things could fall from the skies, then you would have no need to be scared, and yes, you would be stronger than your desire. I understand all too well how you love your devices as little and compact as they maybe, ( I live with a man who constantly worships his device and I truly understand his woes.) You are not alone. May the force be with you all. I won't post again, as I am a busy concubine who has polish my Emperor's powerful, strong device.

Tethering Problem on Mac

Okay. So as part of a bet, I got all A's and B's on my final Report Card, and my mom bought me a Mac. Everything was good and all was fine, until I left the mac to download and Install some system updates to applications like garageband and such. Normally, the only form of internet I have is Tetheration from my G1. I was using the Wireless Tether and had left the house and left it on to Update. When I got back, I tried to go on my FaceBook, and it wouldn't load. I'm good with this kind of stuff, so I restarted the Tether, the phone, the laptops AirPort, and the laptop itself. I tried, and it wouldn't connect. now I don't know if this is a problem from my phone, or from the laptop. I tried to connect the Tether to my brothers Windows Vista, and it worked. I also don't know how to use USB Tether on a Mac. If anybody could help, that'd be awesome. I have a T-Mobile G1.
*UPDATE FROM THE LIBRARY!*
Okay, so it's not a problem with the mac, it's a problem with the Tether, but no matter how I try to use it, it won't work. Any help?
BTW, I do not say this is a Mac problem that only Macs have, it is that Mac is helping me solve my problems, when my old Windows (that is now my brothers) went around it. I love you Maccy. (That's right, I named my Mac <3)
What mac is it?
It's the MacBook. Not the pro, just the MacBook.

[Q] Laptop not booting. Need help fixing it.

I just ****ed up my laptop. Can anyone help me?
I installed ubuntu on it last year. Since it was buggy, I formatted my laptop to remove it, ubuntu vanished but its grub loader did not go. I neglected that kept on using windows 7. Now, yesterday I decided to upgrade to windows 8. Before installing I opened windows 7's partition manager and tried formatting the 10 GB unpartioned space that was previously allocated for ubuntu. My laptop restarted automatically during the format and now my laptop doesnt start at all. It doesnt even reach the grub loader. Before that I get an error -
" error: unknown filesytem
grub rescue> "
I tried booting into ubuntu using a live disc, it booted successfully and I formatted the 10GB partition successfully. Then I rebooted and now it doesnt even boot into ubuntu using the live disc. I seriously need help now

USB Modem on Windows RT

Hey guys,
for days I tried to get my O2 Surftstick to run on my Microsoft Surface Tablet. I'm not sure if there are any Drivers for the build in
USB Modem (Huawei E173), but thats not the mainproblem. This is that the device has 2 USB Modes. The one is a mass storage device with the Windows Drivers (this is the device detected by Surface) and the other one is the USB Modem mode. The Problem ist that the USB Modem is normally detetcted after installing those Drivers on mass storage. No Problem on Windows 8, but in Windows RT there is no way to install a 3rd Party Software including the Drivers. Without the drivers the USB Modem is not detected and I cant even see if there would be drivers for it. I tried a lot of things, f.e. porting all Software Data and even the Registry Entrys to my Surface. The result ist that my Surface Shows the Software (in my case Mobile Partner) as installed,

}
but detects still only the Mass Storage. I tried some other things, but they all had no effect, so I wrote an email to
Huawei asking for Windows RT Support but they didnt asnwer. I think if we would find a way to Change USB Mode it would
be a benefit to make more Surfsticks from other carriers working.
Please help, I have no more Ideas but would really like to see my Surface working with my Surfstick,

O2 Huawei E173 3G Dongle not working yet, you need Connection Manager installed, but I tweeted O2 UK about it and they are working on a WinRT app and expect to release it soon.

I got my windows 7 key yesterday and strangely what ive found out through researched is that my laptop is so old that it only supports 32 bit virtualization and not 64 even though the host system is a 64 bit. Anyhow, I get the same results as when I try to run it through wine.

Finally got some one to let me fix it on their windows 10, easy peasy.
Hey i know this thread is old but:
There's a cross-platfrom implementation for EDL: https://github.com/bkerler/edl
QFIL emulation should do what you need if you already have the required files.
