[JB 4.1.2] Original JB Lockscreen [AOSP] - Galaxy S Advance I9070 General

Hello,
I followed this tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689376 - thanks to Mirko ddd) and I was able to get the original Lockscreen in place of the ugly Touchwizz.
You can enable in Lockscreen options.
But you'll need a deodex rom, check frapeti's thread for the flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095301
Reboot back to Android after deodexing your system, just then apply this patch.
For the laziness sake I'm uploading the modified two files (LQ4) here.
android.policy.jar goes to /system/framework (chmod rw-r-r or 644)
SecSettings.apk goes to /system/app (chmod rw-r-r or 644)
For super laziness²²² now you can flash it in CWM.
PLEASE: Pay attention, to apply this mod you have to alter system files, failing to set right permissions or using this in another rom other than LQ4 will result in bootloop.
Remember of always backing up!

Nice work..
Is it 644 or 655? Because rw_r__r__ is 655..

Will it work on LPY?

I have no idea, I used LQ4 files, if they are the same it would work.

Well, completely noobishly, I went ahead and directly replaced the files using RootExplorer. Now my settings's gone. Can someone please upload the original file SystemSec please? I'm on LPY but I suppose any file from any ROM will be of some help.

Easy fix: just use the Root Explorer, hold touch on SecSettings and select Properties, then apply rw-r-r, reboot and voi lá
PS: Just remember of do the same thing with android.policy.jar before
if you can't make it work just tell me and I upload the original apk
PS2: You replaced SecSettings.apk or a diffrent apk?

Sorry, could you explain this a bit more extensively because I'm really a big noob? Which SecSettings - SecSettings.apk or SecSettings.odex? It actually doesn't matter because both their properties have no buttons. How am I supposed to apply that rw-r-r? When I think about it now I think it would be better if you upload the original files and at the same time, if possible of course, tell me how to do the trick properly.
PS. Now I see that I have replaced the .apk. I hope that's of some help.

First you'll have to get ES File Explorer (or one that does the same trick), then follow these screenshots:
http://imgur.com/a/PT0bm
Hold touch in SecSettings.apk to get that side menu and don't install apk
If your ES is not rooted (like how it cames jump first to the 5th image and to get that menu press Menu button, Settings>Root Settings).

Thanks mate... I'm working on a custom ROM right now... so can I include this to my ROM?
But since I'm a newbie/noob... if it is possible could you tell me how I can do this?

SystemUI.apk is located in root then in folder "System/App"
Overwrite SystemUI.apk and delete SystemUI.odex then set permissions with some root explorer by entering properties of SystemUI.apk (see image).

I did exactly what you showed on the screenshots for both files and now I'm stuck in a bootloop. Any advice? Is it because I used LQ4 files? I'm ready to flash right now with a LQ4 ROM and fix the problem but first I want to know if there's some other way?

Yes, but you'll have to put it in recovery and use ADB to fix it, and the original files you replaced from LPY.
If you are not comfortable using adb I'd say you should go ahead and flash, you can backup after flashing Odin I guess.

I'm definitely not yet entirely comfortable with using adb and that's why I'm just now downloading LQ4 and I intend to flash it and then do what you showed on the screenshots. Will there be any problem then? Anyway, thanks for your extremely helpful input, I really appreciate it.
@shut_down, how can I possibly remove it now when I don't have any access to Android itself. I think a simple flash would be an easier yet more time-consuming solution.

Actually, I think you should deodex your rom first after you flash LQ4, check this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095301 (thank to frapeti)

Could you please teach me about 007a theme.zip-for future use- why is not "framework directory" set under "system directory"? and why is only "service.jar" manually copied?
Anyway grateful to your work and clicked "thanks".

The .zip theme is a way, using the recovery menu, to apply themes with ease...I don't know exactly how it works...
About the framewor directory not being set under system directory I didn't understand, could you please rephrase it??
and finally the service.jar is a file that is there only to change the color on the date on the status bar... and it's the only file that needs to be manually copied because I couldn't create a .zip file that included it....
Hope you like it and thanks for the thanks
Thank you for reply and sorry for poor sentence.
I only hope to understand why default directory structure is not maintained within 007a_theme.zip,
whereas "/system/framework/framework-res.apk"
I have no other purpose, this is simple interest.
I'm not quite sure I understood you but I think you mean inside the. zip file?? If so, the zip file is not a complete image, it's just a theme file that updates the current ROM, but within the system the structure remains the same...

Yes, this is the CarDock.apk provided in the AOSP ROM in the apps folder, you just have to install it through adb....

Which metod have you used??
Either way my first suggestion is to get to the recovery menu and restore your backup and try again...
I've tested it in other xperia I have and it works perfectly... remembering that this will only work in J's AOSP 2.1 007a ROM
A quick question if i may before i begin and id like to try it using the unzip to xrecovery menu then restore method.
Im guessing the location for unzipping is inside sdcard/xrecovery/backup/ (which ever date time etc not just making a new folder under sdcard/xrecovery/backup then unzip here?
I hope you understand what i mean
Thanks for your time and effort for the theme btw!

All you need to do is unzip the folder (/2.1 007a AOSP RMR) on the zip file to sdcard/xrecovery/backup/ there's no need for dates or anything else, just unzip the folder and restore....
Remember to make a backup of your own before proceding....
Good luck, hope you like it and I'll be happy to help in anything else you need...
Sorry im not quite sure if you understood or i might being a little slow as its 3am uk time.
So its just into the backup folder not the one where the back up is made with.
Sorry for my confusion

Yep, in the end your folder structure needs to be /sdcard/xrecovery/backup/2.1 007a AOSP RMR
inside this folder you have the cache.img, data.img, nandroid.md5 and system.img
and no worries about the confusion, it's 1 am here in Brazil, I'm not at my sharpest either....
i'm using the xrecory method, which mentioned to update to custom zip ..
anyway, if i'm restored from your image, will all of my previously apps gone ?
if i've been already done app2sd, will it crash with your apps ?
thanks ...
*update :
I'm trying to use your first method by extracting your file to xrecovery/backup ..
but, when i'm trying to restore it, the xrecovery says that md5 mismatch

[THEME]Ultimate-Bule-tripin

Hi Guys,
Finally I am ready with first part of My first Theme, based on Crysis revolution.
But I have made additional changes also to make it more colourful.
I am calling it as Ultimate-Bule-tripin
This theme will only work on I9003 -XXKB3. Tested on deodexed rom, but should work with non-deodexed rom also(Not tested by me, confirmed by one user here)
Use it at your own risk, I am not responsible if you brick your phone.
This release is Part-I: The first part consists of changes to the Framework files only. I have also themed applications, which I will release as I fine tune them and consider worthy for release. So Dont get confused, if after flashing you do not have all that you see in screen shot.
Features of the part-I
1% Battery indicator
Fly In and Flip Mix (ApeX) Animations -To activate animations goto Menu>Settings>display>All animations
Blue Unlock screen
Transparent pull down bar
Colourful themed Menu
Transparent glowing background
Themed Status bar Music widget and Quick Widgets for GPS, Bluetooth, wifi etc.
Much more.....
Flash it to feel it.
You can use root explorer or adb to replace the two framework files in /system/framework/
If you want to use fonts, the fonts folder should be replaced in /system/fonts
The screen shots also contains tiny battery MOD which is a separate MOD with only difference in Battery indicator s not enclosed.

Update 16.06.11
Ultimate-Blue-tripin-Vanilla unlock screen MOD
Requirements:
-XXKB3 FW
-Deodexed framework is mandatory
This version is with Vanilla unlock screen - Many users wanted to have Vanilla unlock screen. This is in update zip format to be used with the Modded stock (3e) recovery by skin, so that you can flash it easily. Download it and place it on root of your SDCARD (do not put it inside any folder). rename it as update.zip. Now switch off your phone and simultaneously press Vol. up+Home and power on button, till you see the first screen and leave the keys, wait till recovery screen appears. Now select the update zip option and wait the phone to reboot. You are done.
If you do not have this recovery you can also use root explorer or equivalent to replace those files.
Please do this at your own risk

Root Explorer - click on Mount - Copy - Paste - Overwrite - Yes
Then there was an error message that there was no space on memory.
Delete useless applications from phone memory if you do not have enough internal memory but its rare, bcoz the files need hardly 10mb space.

In my /system/framework, there is no "framework-res.apk" file. There is "framework-tests.jar", "framework-tests.odex", "framework.jar" and "framework.odex". I have "twframework-res.apk" and "twframework.jar".
What should I do. Do I backup these files first? If something happens, any way of copying these back to the memory from PC?
This is like a live organism without vital organ. phone can not run without this file. You have to have this file. Paste it any ways, but check properly you area in system/framework folder. Us, its a good idea to back up before that. But what will you back up if u do not have that file?

Thats exaclty what I did but Maybe there is a special way of compiling back together again, I used Winrar and add the files back into the archive, I mean it looked exactly like the original zip so I dont understand why it didnt work, Is there a special way of re-compiling the zip file Kazuni?
Its good for me to know so I know for future reference

I have already gave credit before, just removed by accident. Also, I've asked indie's permission on this matter. My apologies for removing it by accident. FYI, I had credited the proper person/entity to which the credit should have been.
Perhaps a silly question but does this sit on top of the normal power menu (Phone Options) with "Power Off, Data network mode, Flight mode, Restart, Mute, Vibrate, Sound" options, does it add an option or does it replace the original menu? Would it be possible to post some screen shots of exactly how it integrates please?

@Kazuni, Thanks for porting this over.
One thought; would it not be best to have it named "Restart Options" as it sits beneath the Restart Menu option? Just a thought to keep things consistent.

Odex Rom
You also may try on your rom and update here whether this mod is working on your rom. Make sure to delete related odex file.
Backup your Secsetting.apk and secsetting.odex fbefore you do so.
As per 01 user this is working OdexRom as well
Please note Ink effect option is also available but it won't work.
no offense, but just taking SecSettings.apk from XXLSC is what everyone could have done, right? I know, it is working, but it is from other base...
tbh, I also completely failed in making this mod for XXLSZ...something seriously changed from the way this mod was done before on the leaks...
works on stock LSZ rooted odex.

I idiot thought he really changed LSZ secsettings and just used it as a mod. Never thought of someone would claim a Mod by copying an old Settings apk. Grrrh...
I will switch to making the mods by myself to be sure - and if I really need the mod.
I've been working on this since yesterday.
I have a working rom with lockscreen shortcuts working now. The stock rom didn't have lockscreen shortcuts for me sadly. I'm pretty sure I have it figured out. I should be able to shed some light on these features and how to get them working later... just need to do a little more testing.

ThaiDai,
Actually this is not my mod. even i don't know how to create mods since i'm not expert. This is the SecSetting.apk copied from LSC rom. I cheched each and every options against LSC setting with LSZ & LM5. there are no changes. Eventually i thought that we can use this Secsetting to enable Lockscreen short and smart rotation, until a developer prepare base form LSZ. or we have really consider modding an Secsetting in future if Sammy added any new options into setting
Thanks

Nothing of this is stated in your OP. So a reader gets the impression that you modded it for XXLSZ yourself.
So please correct this in OP - or delete it completely because there is no own work here.
This works fine after deleting the help file and its odex also...
Question- what is changed from this and the official version? (If known by anyone)

Are you able to push the .apk? I've deleted .odex, but now it fails while copying the file from OP. Currently i don't have the settings menu at all.
For me it copies around 10mb and after that it either fails or the file stays as incomplete ...
I freed some space.

Any suggestions? I see it as i'm stuck badly ...

Lol.
1. download aroma file manager on your pc (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108)
2. reboot to recovery mode
3. mount usb
4. copy over the SecSettings.apk and aromafm.zip to your SD card
5. use aroma file manager to move your apk to the right location
6. reboot

10MB is not sufficient to push Secsetting in to System/app. Delete some Samsung bloatware such as Chaton or delete some live wallpaper (Ocean weather, Aurora etc..)

Android L Bootanimation (and others!) for Galaxy S5 [With a How-To]

There seems to be a bit of confusion on how to get boot animations to work on our devices, S4 guys had this same issue.
Go HERE for other bootanimations. You must extract the files from their downloadable zips and either use method 1 or 2 to install. If using method 1, replace the files in the /system/media/ folder of the flashable zip.
Android L - Method 1 (requires SafeStrap):
1. DOWNLOAD this ZIP
2. Flash in Safestrap
3. Reboot
Method 2 (requires only root)
1. DOWNLOAD this ZIP file and extract the files from it.
2. Place files on internal storage or SDcard
3. Use a root explorer or root file manager app to navigate to /system/media/
I use File Manager because it will easily complete step 64. I would recommend renaming the current files by putting an OLD in front of them, such as (OLDbootsamsung.qmg). (Optional)
5. Once you are done with step 4, place the files into /system/media/
6. Here's the important part: You must be in root mode and change the permissions of each of the 3 files.
7. Once you are able to change permissions, make sure all files permissions look like this below or it will not work and things can screw up.

A little thanks to @Misterxtc as well
Worked great. Thanks!
Use this as a template and download others from here and give thanks to the OP for the files. I have included the Android L animation from above in this file. Just replace the .qmq files in the system/media folder for something different, also include the PowerOn.ogg in the system/media/audio/ui folder if it's included in the animation for the start up sound.

That's fine. I updated my quote so that will be accurate but I actually want the L Bootanim to be sound-free. But I will add an option in the OP to download a with-sound version.
Edit, I don't see poweron.ogg anywhere in your zip...?

Alliance uses a different boot animation that uses a zip file. The ones posted here are the type you need. You will be replacing the bootanimation.zip in the system/media folder with these type of files. They will have to be renamed to bootanimation.zip for them to work. Just to be safe rename your original instead of deleting it.

No they are a different format all together. Compare your bootanimation.zip with those and you will see. There are others than I posted, all you have to do is search for them and make sure they are the same format as your original.
