Sorry can't post in dev section yet but drod was nice enough to let me get my hands on cyanogen mod 7 release candidate 2 and said I could share. This is not an official release and not supported yet. To flash place zip on internal sd boot in clockwork wipe data and install zip.
I used clockwork .08
Update: fix for internal sd problem

Here is a link to the gapps for Gingerbread that gives full market out of the box
I installed the rom first and let it boot up then went back in clockwork and installed gapps. Don't know if it matters.

When you say the internal SD doesn't work, do you mean it doesn't show up at all? Or could it possibly be /mnt/emmc?

Anyone tried this yet?
Went thru the archive, seem genuine, I may give it a try later, I'll post mileage...
Lets make this easy: http://www.mediafire.com/?wxbtl23g46vxvho
Up and running as I type. Looks really nice. Put soft buttons on status bar which will help me at night not having to feel for the home and back buttons on the side since they don't illuminate. Market is full and working quite nicely as it backed up all of my purchases and dl's right away.
Only thing not working for me so far is the docking station. Still a nogo. Just came off of bitrix to try this......
Well done!!!

Odd it worked fine for me coming out of vegan 5.1.1 just by wiping data. you could try wiping system or re downloading the zip
Where is the recovery folder? I downloaded the update...... .zip folder and it wouldn't load the rom, CWmod said it was "bad"

What version clockwork are you using? I used .08
Installed this last night from a link he sent on twitter. Think its the same version. Only issue i see so far is my sdcard is not showing up. I get sdcard for internal memory but not for my actual card. A message comes up when I insert it saying that one was inserted then it says its safe to remove. Not sure how to mount it. I don't see it in /mnt either.

Calkulin has a nice format all zip (see first post here)that you flash like a rom before flashing a new rom. works good only 1 step instead of many. only thing it doesn't seem to format is Delvik so that has to be done manually but it cuts out a few steps in the rom prep work.
This rom has the same shape icons in the right corner as the vegan roms and the same notification icons as cm rc2. The mounts are sdcard and emmc for external. The res has been changed so some apps wont scale properly. If it wasn't for that I would have kept using it because I prefer the minimal notification icons compared to vegans experimental new icons.

On my tab the internal storage is mapped to /sdcard while /emmc is empty. my external (actual) sdcard is nowhere to be found. settings-storage shows the sdcard as having 13.07gb total. my actual sd card is 4gb so this is confirming its actually the internal memory. All the Vegan roms showed my sdcard as mounted at /sdcard2. was just curious as to how I should go about mounting my sdcard so i can access it? I have no issues with this memory mounting setup just curious how to get my card to be mounted. Can i type something in a terminal to mount it?
I realize that the vegan series is a moddified version of cm and this is an attempt to be true cm tweaked to run on our tabs and that some things are gonna be different. So if I am missing something with the sdcard mounting please let me know. I think Drod2169 does great work and have loved rubix on my X for months now.
I jumped on this rom from Bitrix and my sd card reads exactly the same as it did before as sdcard while my internal is emmc. It seems as if it's not liking the change from your previous association to this new association of internal/external storage. Were you using a pre-Gingerbread rom before? If so check out this link for the association of storage files...this may help
I also use rootexplorer and have no problems accessing/copying/moving files etc.
I was on Calkuins beta, then wiped and installed vegan ginger experimental 3/8/11. After it started and loaded apps from market Drod2169 sent me a link to this one on twitter so I wiped and installed this. Maybe that the kernel didn't install right our something.will try to redownload and try again.

It is cm 7 rc2 I say unofficial release because it may be changed slightly before they officially announce its release. If you don't want it you don't have to use it, I just thought I would post it for people that do.
So. It turns out that if I knew how to read I could have fixed my problem a while ago. The first post says right on it that it was updated to fix sdcard problem. The version I had was from before this "fix". Downloaded updated one and installed. All is well. Market seem good so far all items are mounting speed seems good. Don't use youtube so cant comment on video but flash works on the sites i've tried it on. Thanks Drod2169 for giving us some more of your time.
I'm curious as I've ran bittrix's unofficial and several of gojimi's Ginger vegan. Do installed apps show up on the market under My Apps? On every other Ginger rom I've tried, Market-My Apps just shows nothing. Love gingerbread but it makes it a pain trying to keep apps up to date. Also does purchasing work, or does vending FC when trying to?
Thanks
Hello,
I have a HTC Touch Diamond 100 and I installed the "Froyo FRX06 XDandroid NEW system update" review in the post "[prj] [XDANDROID] [AOSP] [FroYo | GINGERBREAD] [31.03] System Update" and everything works fine except that it doesn't recognize SDcard applications.
There's no Error Message in the screen, is just that the system doesn't recognice anything in the SDcard. I put my apps in the folder: AndroidApps-> Other. I think it's not the common fault that I have read many people have "Waiting for SDCard error. For people who have problems with sdcard message, add this to your startupmsmsdcc_1bit msmsdcc_fmax=14000000 msmsdcc_nopwrsave" because for instance the phone let me save the pictures i've take with the camera phone or install and recognice any app from the market.
I 've Format the card with the HP tools after initial installation and then i had restore all the files in the internal storage.
P.S. Sorry for my possible spelling mistakes but English is not my native language
Keep in mind if you put the apk in anything other than the AndroidApps folder you will need to install them yourself. See THIS FAQ for further explanation. As far as the wating on sd card message you get when you are booting into Android, I get those all the time and have no problems with taking pictures. I would suggest that you use the full bundle from THIS post to ensure you have the latest. Unless you know what you are doing

Oh what A noob mistake xD I didn't know that apps in the "Other" folder doesn't follow the "typical rules" for instaling apps (i've come from previous releases of Android, Eclair specifically, and in that version it was only place in this folder to install apps).
I'm using froyo instead of gingerbread builts because HTC touch Diamond it's quite old and i don't know if the performance would be better or slower than froyo performace but if you recomend me to use that gingerbread bundle i would use it.
Thanks R^7Z.
Honestly, Gingerbread is "better" but it is alpha release at the moment. Yes, this means that there are quite a few more "improvements" to under-go! I only recommend it if you like the idea of Android. The latest releases for FroYo aren't bad but it seems there are a few hard instability hits it has taken since FRX03 (last time I really enjoyed running a FroYo build from the XDAndroid project). Since then, I've been playing around with a few things and builds to include but not limited to this new idea of CWM (clockwork mod/Gingercherry tutorial) which is posted in the neopeek forums. So, unless you've got an idea as to how neopeek variants work, it's suggested to stick with the XDAndroid builds...

I see what you say but honestly, right now, I'm looking for stability and performace, if you know that gingerbread build GBX0A have better performance (i supose that it's less stable because it's an alpha) than FRX06 i'll choose Ginger

FAQ:
[Q] Do I have to have a class 6 or better SD card to use this?
[A] While a class 6 or better SD card is recommended, I tried it out with the 8GB class 2 SD card that came with the phone. I would say "for best results" (to reduce or eliminate potential lag problems) use a class 6 or better SD card from a reputable manufacturer/seller. Not all SD cards are created equal.

[A]Yes. I have my card partitioned using the tutorial located here and it works fine.

[A]No. At this time it seems that ROMs that have this feature built in do not work.

[A] Yes. I suggest using Titanium Backup Pro to backup your apps and settings.

[Q] If I install CM7 or MIUI, how do I get my Google apps like Gmail, etc...
[A] Before you use Boot Manager to install and AOSP based ROM get a copy of gapps here and place it in a folder on your SD card. Once you install CM7 or MIUI Bootmanager will ask if you want to boot into the ROM, "Install zips", or "Done". Select "Install zips" and find the gapps .zip file on your SD card and select it. Leave the wipe check boxes blank and select the slot where your CM7 or MIUI ROM is located. Once complete select the Okay button to reboot into your ROM.

i read the link in the description from the market, and it says they recommend a class 6 card i have a class 4 16 gig and wondering if it would work??
I'm sure that a faster card is recommended but I was able to install 2 ROMs on the class 2 8GB SD card that came with the phone, and both were very responsive. CM7 and MIUI are lightweight ROMs though, not sure if a Sense ROM would be too slow to use. I say if you have $3 for the app and a card with enough space give it a shot. I have read about class 2 cards outperforming class 6 cards in certain tests, it seems to vary by brand and size for some reason.
I've read about this before but didn't see any results on the EVO. I guess ill give this a shot on my og when I get home.

In their defense, they released a new version on August 12th, 2011. The changelog did not have anything Evo specific, but maybe some of the changes would have solved your issue?
I didn't have any problems loading CM7 and MIUI off a class 2 SD card, Synergy ROMs have a ton of modifications, etc (not a bad thing), this app is not specific for the Evo, so I would not expect this to work for every ROM/Partition/A2SD scenario. Each ROM took about 15 minutes to load initially, but was easy to switch once they were there.

I don't see why not, I will try it out. When I flashed MIUI and CM7 I was able to flash the gapps.zip using the "Install zips" feature. As long as your mod/theme is in a .zip format I think it would. I am installing a 3rd ROM to SD right now, as soon as it is done I will try a theme zip.
If you did not already know, this application requires that you connect to the internet for an authentication check of some sort. A pirated app will not work. With that said, I recommend switching to airplane mode and connecting to WiFi before installing a ROM (if possible). Last night I received a text during installation and it stopped the installation process. I would have had some choice words for the person sending the text if it were anyone other than my Mom.

Ok cool,Where did you find the gapps.zip file for Miui?,I found one but it just has VM in it..Been on this since last night,Wow EVOlvedROM r3chargeD RC1 on Phone,MIUI 1.8.12 in slot 1,SalvageMod v1.3 in slot 2,Smooth on Class 2 Sd card
I purchased this app and am using it with a 16GB class 4. Even though I think is a brilliant idea and a very smart programmer who wrote this program Unfortunately it is a bit slow. Have tried it with many different roms & some take literally up to an hour to install but in no way they are usable for day to day use. Just to play around. only light weight roms that i had good experience with are MIUI 1.7.22 & deck 1.3. other ones like King variations or anything with Sense 3.0 is just to toooooo slow to run off of SD card and you might be disappointed. I am waiting on the developer to add new features to this.....& Yes it does an internet check upon app's startup to look for valid license. otherwise won't run!

now see this is the same card i have, 16 gig class 4, and i love the sense roms like synergy and evolved and the kingdom ports.
ty again bro saved me some money.
I have not experienced the issues some of you are having, not sure what the problem could be. I still think it is worth the $3 just to have a Sense ROM as the base and the ability to easily boot into AOSP based ROMs like MIUI and CM7. You could set it up like this:
PhoneROM: Sense 3.0 ROM
Slot 1 MIUI 1.8.12
Slot 2 CyanogenMod 7.0.3 build 170
Slot 3 MIUI 1.8.19
Slot 4 CyanogenMod 7.1 RC
My coworker is new to ROM flashing and just flashed MIUI on his OG Droid so he is always showing me new themes he found. It is nice to be able to boot into MIUI and pick up the theme out of dropbox and give it a go,
Well I LOVE this app!!!
I have a class 4 - 16gb card
And I put my 7/23 synergy kingdom 3.0 sense rom on the Phone Rom
and then I also have Miui 108190 on rom 1 port.
I havent tried any other rom but Miui runs faster than the 3.0 sense straight from SD card, I have DT apps2sd installed on the miui rom as well, everything works via a2sdgui!!! I have custom sbc kernel installed on MIUI
What i love about the rom is,
At night I put Airplane mode on when i sleep, Boot into Miui, let phone charge on sbc kernel and then boot into Synergy rom with no 10% drain and no missed mms's going into the wrong rom.
Awesome set up in my book i love SBC kernels and theres still none for Gingerbread roms but i love this set up!!
Miui has all apps i still use if i want to play pandora or audible b4 going to bed and ya-ta ya-ta...
Main thing ive learned is the bigger roms should be on Phone Storage... I havent tried anything else... I had synergy rsl 1 on rom 2 but as you all say its laggy...
Miui is Flawless and its cool to add apps2sd and it works!
Anyways im done!
--edit-- of course wifi works in airplane mode so u gotta have wifi for audible and pandora and other such things.

i have successfully flashed kernels and fonts into a slot, script manager runs fine in a slot for me,i flashed 2 themes to cm7 and 1 stuck. the other didnt, but i flashed it from another slot, maybe that had something to do with it. ive installed a rom to a slot from another slot and it worked. i have v6 supercharger and kickass kernel tweak and sd speed increase on cm7 in a slot and achieved over 1700 quadrant score. i use a class 4, 16 gb card.
tonight i loaded the latest cm nightly in a slot and it was fine but boot manager said i was on phone rom and i wasnt. when i tried to boot into anything else it said failed boot image so i had to go to recovery and find an update zip in the boot manager folder,(you can use the update from any slot), glad i know about that little trick. it makes me much more willing to try risky stuff.

Still, this is nothing needed, sorry. We'll get ICS soon from Cyanogenmod and a port from another rom without the 3D functions are useless.
Not needed?
Have you seen this forum the last month or so? It's DEAD!
Any, and I say ANY project from any developer should be welcomed. And building a ROM not-stock is a f*cking good news!
So it has problems, no 3D, uses Froyo Baseband... WTF PEOPLE: IT'S IN ALPHA STAGE!
Very very much thanks rdannar for your work.

hahaha, ya sure... "soon"... wait for that to happen maybe spring next year
Just messing with stuff... Eventually it will mix with ics also... Every development of a Rom or port has to start somewhere... I have like 6 Rom going for 3 different phones. so eventually i want all three phones with similar Rom

Really i only want people to try this if they want to help with development. .. I wouldn't recommend this one for just trying... Its pretty unstable.

Installed, bootet normaly but not asking for PIN and no network no working INT or EXT SD and reboots(especially in SEMC Launcher). Flashed V10K Baseband WIPED installed again but no working network and Reboots and no working INTERNAL or EXTERNAL SD Card again.....
if this helps you.....
Well, I've got a little problem ATM. My phone says in the settings 23,45GB of 29,12GB are already taken. (System takes 20,88 GB space) The strange thing is now when I look my space now on SD Maid it says I've got 2,60GB of 8,24GB taken
I'm kinda struggling here and I don't know what I can do...
ATM using:
- CarbonROM (newest Build)
- Costum kernel from zacharias.maladroit
Any help / answer would be great :-/
Custom rom and custom kernel. Use stock, or talk this with rom developer and kernel developer.
