Q. 3rd party launcher not installed?? - HTC Pico (Explorer)

I'm on cm10 beta 3 by bhargz. Whenever I copy a launcher (s3,xperia,xperia z) to system folder and set permission. It doesn't turn up for selection after reboot.
I installed nova launcher and it's working fine but not others.
Help?

[PORTED] [BETA] Samsung Galaxy S3 launcher now for ALL ICS ROMS

I successfully ported the launcher for all ICS ROMS. Unsure about gingerbread, someone could give it a try and see how that works. Copy to system/app folder or just install as a user app , it doesn't make a difference.
Something that PoorCollegeGuy pointed out to me is that PaWill started this, even though I didn't know about it so thanks to PaWill for starting this,
this is my work but PaWill started this whole idea.
TO ADD WIDGETS, COPY TO SYSTEM/APP, CHANGE PERMISSIONS TO RW/R/R, then install again as usual, then press home, and Widgets will work.
DO NOT CONVERT TO SYSTEM APP, MANUALLY COPY IT TO SYSTEM/APP
CLEAR DATA IN SETTINGS.
SOLUTION FOR CONSTANT FC, FOUND BY JASSI32
If after reboot it constant FC
1. Go to system/app and install it from system/app
2. Then delete apk from system/app
3. Reboot
WORKS 100%

Cyanmobile eXperience GT-S5570
Kinda works on Xperia S. However, the wallpaper keeps redrawing every time I hit back or home button, and I can't add widgets from the drawer.

Becuase it isn't CM9 (ICS), it's CM7 (GB) with hard work of Squadzone.
Dear Wow.......................
This is just fine, works very cool on my Xperia Pro with Android 4.0.4.
Only found one error while loading widgets "Not installed with permissions of binding widgets"
Please check the application launcher icon cannot be moved to centre.
Thank you……
Tried everything, I took it exactly from the galaxy s3, so I'm guessing that's a feature? Btw I don't have one so this was pretty hard.

For not installed with permissions of binding Widgets try installing as system. Or try fix permissions.

Everything seems to work on the TMobile GS2, except the widget error. Permissions are set, and the launcher won't open at all if changed to a system app.

To set permissions, use a file explorer like ES file explorer and go to where the app is located (if set as a system app it should be in system/app then open properties, change the file permissions.

Android 4.2 Launcher signed-[very speedy and smoother]

this is very nice working good on cm10
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Download the Android 4.2 Launcher apk file and transfer it to a convenient location on your phone.
2.If you are using a Nexus Device or running an AOSP /AOKP based stock Android ROM, you need to be rooted. Download Titanium Backup and uninstall your default Android 4.1 launcher. If you are using an OEM customized ROM, like a Touchwiz based or HTC Sense Based ROM, you can skip Step 2 and move on directly to Step 3.
3.Now using a File explorer like ES File Explorer or Astro, navigate to the location where you had transferred the APK file for the Android 4.2 launcher, in Step 1.
4.Install the Launcher apk, and enjoy the default launcher from the upcoming Android 4.2

Which rom are you using and are you getting the issue for all apps or for particularly some apps?
It may be because some apps are specifically designed for an android version, and may not get support on the new version. Or maybe your device hardware doesnt provide support for the apps.
For eg agent dash

I was able to install and play it on CM10 Alpha 2.
Did you try sideloading the incompatible apps?
Can you try installing a widely supported app, like ES File Explorer?
I get such msg regarding some apps like chrome , instagram ,etc
I have to install such file apk after google their apk from other source:banghead:

Actually the play store checks the build.prop of your phone against its list of compatible devices.. If its not there, then it will show incompatible with your phone.. If you change your build.prop to show another device, while instaling an app, it'll work.. Or you can search XDA.. Somebody has modded the play store and removed device restrictions.. So you can install all apps without any problems..
There are some patchers ( won't name them ) which can patch country restrictions too on play store. Google them if you want.

Launcher for PICO
Launcher 8 is quite good. But when you open an app in the phone, irrespective of the status bar style you choose in launcher 8, the status bar in the app reverts back to the stock one. Can you do anything to fix it?
Tried. But after reboot many things start force closing.

You must move the holo launcher to System and change the permission to (-------) then put the stock launcher to system ----> apps and change the permission to rw-r--r-- you must make sure that the name of stock launcher is (home.apk)
