AT&T/Rogers locked One X to Fido(Canadian)? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I have no problem buying unlock key, just want to make sure it's unlock-able before buying it...
Looked at here and seem lots of people failed to unlock the sim lock?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639644
and, after it's unlock, I just have to unlock also BootLoader from hasoon2000 and it's voila, the custom rom!?
Thank you.

Bump, and see if it works!

Maybe I should just look for carrier-unlocked...

You shouldn't have a problem

No one here ever tried to unlock their AT&T One X?
That thread in my main post really scared me...

Rogers phones are apparently difficult to get codes for. But any decent unlocking service should tell you if it's possible before charging you
Sent from my VENOMized HoxL

Cause I'm buying one from eBay, and they're mostly from AT&T
so it would be pretty inconvenient if I can't get it unlocked to work on Fido...
Ship back, wait it to get arrive, wait for refund, etc etc...

My one x was rogers I has no issue unlocking and it was easy

I bought mine from Rogers and didn't even have to unlock it. I'm on Fido LTE.

I was with Rogers. I used cellunlocker.net which worked fine for me. I'm with Koodo now with no problems.

Thank you all, you guys rocks!
Guess I better get Rogers one now

Supercid = sim unlock?

Hey guys just a quick question. I tried searching but could not it find the answer.
Okay so in the past, like the mytouch 4G and the G2 once your Supercid you got full sim unlock. Is that the case with our att HTC One X as well? I don't have a foreign sim to try it out. My one X is unlocked with Supercid. Thanks to whoever who can answer this for me.

I don't believe it is the case. No one has reported it as such.
SuperCID and SIM unlock are not related, at least not in the way you want.
I had the G2 also (Desire Z actually, but same phone) and used gfree to get SuperCID, S-Off and SIM unlock. They just all happened to be packaged together, but I believe used different processes to unlock each.

Unlock costs $6 in Ebay for at&t one x if that's what you need.

Call Att, tell them you will be travelling internationally soon and you need your unlock code. If you have been a customer for a while and your account is in good standing they will provide the code for free. I have done it several times over the years, once even for a customers phone that was not even on my account.

Yeah but sometimes at&t with exclusive phones will not give codes out but I'll give that a try.

I think that is the point a lot of Americans miss. HTC has no problem with unlocked bootloaders. I have the xl from Rogers and it took about 5 minutes to unlock the bootloader through the official htc root. Don't blame htc for your bootloader being locked. That one is all on at&t.
I would prefer more manufacturers to take Google stance how carriers can have their phone.
Bootloader is unlocked and it's can't be locked to your carrier. Don't like it then don't carry our nexus phones. Once the next nexus phone is released I will be jumping ship and swimming back to nexus land.

Heh, I bought my phone off contract at Canada from At&t just to save $200 lol. It's been a pain but I got it while there was no 2.20, hell there wasn't even any root... I just remember reading about the hex editing to get super Cid and Someone bricking their phone lol.
Well anyways what does this have to do with pogos though....

Been tried in the S off thread, if we had a sd card slot, it would work, not pogo pins. And I wonder at how an accessories thread is somehow going in a completely weird direction lol .

I was going to sell my one x and met a guy at McDonald's....I have at&t...he had Verizon....I called sprint and they gave me an unlock code that didn't work at all leaving me looking dumb....then bought one off of eBay and that did nothin either.. when inserting sim of diff provider brings up enter sim unlock code...please help

You called Sprint for the unlock code for your AT&T phone? That doesn't make any sense. Sprint is a CDMA carrier, CDMA phones don't have SIM cards (and therefore dont' have SIM unlock codes) and they also don't even carry the One X anyway. Verizon is also a CDMA carrier, and your GSM One X would not have worked on Verizon for that guy.
If the paid SIM unlock code did not work, that vendor should give you a refund. People have had good luck with cellunlocker.net.
But keep in mind that unlocking the SIM will not make the phone work on Sprint or Verizon. It will only work on AT&T and T-Mobile (and associated carriers like Straight Talk, that use AT&T/T-Mobs networks), as they are the only major GSM carriers in the US. And on T-Mob, the phone will only get EDGE data speed in most areas, due to the phone not being compatible with T-Mobs 3G/4G network.
Att is gsm sprint and Verizon are completely different this phone will not work on those two providers

[Q] htc at&t simcard problems

hi.
a friend of mine has gotten an at&t htc one x for a present brought to her from the US. the problem is this at&t device seems to be locked to other carriers and there for unusable in middle east as a phone.
is there any way to fix this problem? if so, would need to root the device or not?
thanx in advance
Get an unlock code off eBay or elsewhere. Should only cost a few dollars.
Insert new SIM, enter unlock code, program APN for new carrier and success.

Thank you for your fast reply. If you could be kind enough to tell me where should i have her enter the code i would be more than thankful.
She can't miss it once she inserts a non att sim card it will pop up asking for the unlock code

Which one of you guys knew about this?

AT&T is offering a limited HTC One Developer Edition with unlocked bootloader and it is already available on pre-order. However, even if if you’ve decided to get the regular HTC One from AT&T and want to get its bootloader unlocked, there’s nothing to worry about.
http://blog.gsmarena.com/att-htc-one-bootloader-is-unlockable-via-htcdev/
official launch april 19th.
It's been discussed in the One forums. But apparently AT&T plans to close this door on launch day.
Before you get too excited, though, HTC's affirmed to us that AT&T's One will not be supported by the HTCdev unlock service, which will effectively render its bootloader untouchable.

Verizon is worse. They've in the past sent updates that intentionally soft-bricked rooted phones to force people to take them to Verizon stores to be unrooted.

In addition to the guarantee of being bootloader unlocked (as opposed to this game of maybe/maybe not for the AT&T version), the Dev Edition is also SIM unlocked, and free of AT&T bloat (unbranded version of the ROM) for the same unsubsidized price as the AT&T version (for those that aren't eligible for an upgrade yet).

Here's but one example.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2199042
Im probably going to get a T-Mobile version instead of dev edition. In a perfect world I could buy the dev edition 64gbyte version and flash a T-Mobile radio to enable all bands ever... But the dev version isn't even s-off (who does that, honestly)... So I'm opting for the T-Mobile version. LTE eats too much battery IMO.
