Stream videos from GS3 to PS3 with wired connection? - General Questions and Answers

Ive googled and googled but no answer. Ive streamed videos from my SG3 to ps3 over a wireless connection fine, but I am wanting to use my wired connection cause its faster. Is there a way to stream from my Galaxy S3 on wifi thru my router to my Ps3 using its ethernet connection instead of wifi? I made sure the UPnP is enabled.

wifi tether connected to a ps3

I was wondering if its possible to use wifi tether to connect to a ps3?
Because I tried but my ps3 won't run.
i googled it a while back got it to semi work but never fully functional you cant auto detect the settings have to manually put them in
same thing for xbox 360, I've tried wireless and wired (bridge over pc) tethering in the past, fails at NAT (network address translation)
To be honest, I have no idea why you would try. Even under the best 3G conditions, any game would have a high risk of lagging hardcore. I can see if there is no internet, so bummer, but I don't think it would be very playable.

I've played several games over 3G on laptop... it's not *quite* as bad as you'd think, with a good signal, it just depends on what games you're playing... just don't go around expecting to play any massive multiplayer first person shooters over 3g

can we get more details on this?
AFAIK PS3 does not support ad-hoc wireless networking. The PSP certainly doesn't...
Not really considered adhoc tethering. Should work if you know the proper setting for the PS3. Physically I guess it is adhoc but the PS3 should recognize the Hero as regular access point... so technically it's not.
I was a PS3 technician at SCEA.
So since I don't have any Wifi to connect to I've got the pc tethered to pc. i'm sharing it's internet connection.
confused as what exactly for manual settings i need to enter xbox side? or what further configuration pc side?
Anyone know how to get hero to serve as a hotspot rather than an adhoc network? I can do it with the new version of wifi tether on my evo, but not the hero. I've tried a dozen different versions and setups.
Also, for those who think its too slow; I play modern warfare online all the time with evo 3g connection with no issue. Also stream justin tv and ps store movies. May just be a reception issue for some.

Infrastructure mode is now being supported for certain devices if you go to the google code site for wireless tether for root users. I can't say for sure whether it works for the Hero or not, though.
What I do is with my w7 laptop, I have an ethernet cord running from the laptop to my ps3 or xbox, whatever I decide to play. I have my hero flashed with dc 1.2(?) for the correct PRI to do mobile network sharing, then I connect my hero, turn on MNS< bridge the connections, and I game online (all the time) and have a rare lag here and there, and an occasional boot, but nothing to get pissed over. it's a blast, really!
3G wifi Tethering without laptop
I tryed to connect my PS3 wiresly to my Tilt 2 using but it never seems to find it. I dont have a computer and 3G WiFi on my cellphone is all i got. Any tips to get a Tilt 2 wiresly connected to a PS3?
Wireless Tether for Root Users creates an Ad-Hoc network, which the PS3 can't identify.
Sadly the only way to do it IS to have an internet connection to the computer and set up a public network via wifi.
Edit: Overlooked the ethernet cable method, my mistake.

This is exactly what i do but with winXP. I get some lag every now and then but multiplayer is surprisingly very playable over 3g.

I think the Hero is missing certain drivers that can only support an actual hotspot connection rather than ad-hoc.
I have a Sprint hero and just want to say it is possibly to play online using the wifi tether. Though ive only done it on the xbox 360 but see no reason why you wouldnt be able to do it on the ps3. You connect as if it were a router and thats it!! I only had two bars and still played MW2.. just try it
dwigginstm can u explain how u do it?
I try that already it dont really work for me, you really need to get good signal if you going to connect wifitethering if the signal strong it might be picked up on ps3. But if you connect to ps3 with wifitether your game that you playing might lag cause of connection from your phone

[Q] Keep 4G connection when streaming to WiFi tv.

Hej.
I'm confused, I must have tried all streaming apps there is for streaming to WiFi TV and all of them shuts down my 4g connection when hooking up to TV on WiFi. I can not see the point of streaming when loosing my internet connection, I have tried them all, chromecast, bubblepnp, localcast etc and all of them connects to my TV and I can play some music stored on SD but I am not able finding out how to get chrome browser sharing to TV etc or tubio app to play on TV as the mobile data connection is shut down. I'm convinced it is a software problem as what I'm looking for is practically a extended WiFi hotspot. I'm using a huawei g740 android version 4.1.2 phone, Sony bravia TV and a Chinese TV stick name something, it all connects on WiFi so Im stating all hardware works. Please help.

[Q] Wifi local network and 3g at the same time? (DLNA and Airplay streaming on a car)

Hello.
I already put this on the OnePlus Forum but had no answer. Maybe on XDA someone will manage to help me out.
I bought a wifi little device to stream music to my car Stereo and it worked great on my old iphone. I want to have the same result with the OnePlus but I’m having some trouble and need someone help.
This device has the ability to get Airplay and DLNA streams for mobiles connected to his wifi network, everything works great on iphone and on the oneplus. I use Airplayer app on my rooted OnePlus and I stream music on my OnePlus to my car stereo with no issues and with great quality.
So what’s the problem you ask.
The problem is loose my 3g connection as soon I connect to that wifi. So on my car I loose internet, cant receive emails, whatsapps, cant stream from spotify, etc etc....
On the Iphone works great, the dhcp of the router on this little device don’t send the gateway and dns to the iphone. And the iphone understand that its just a local network connection and route internet traffic through 3g. The iphone is smart. I was hopping that the ONE Plus was that smart and do the same thing, but he doesn’t. As soon I connect to the wifi of that device, my OnePlus disconnect the 3g Network instantly.
How can i have my OnePlus connected to the wifi of that device (to have Airplay or DLNA) and stil have internet???
Please help me... I'm driving crazy.
My wife has internet on her iphone while driving and I don’t???Dammm LOL
A workaround not a fix and I haven't tried it myself but maybe have a look at netup, as it is supposed to combine bandwidth on both wifi and cellular it might keep the connection up when you're connected to the car hotspot?

Thanks for the answer but I tryed the app and it works only on YouTube and other limited apps. Doesn't solve my problem to stream from other sites and maintain connectivity to receive emails and whatsapps while on my car with airplay enabled throught that little router. Thanks anyway.

Note 8 movie casting to Chromecast via HotSpot

Background: I had some trouble setting up my chromecast because we canceled our wifi service; we do have a wifi router, and the chromecast refused to be setup without internet. I finally got it set up on my hotspot, I had to use another old phone with the Google Home app while connected to my Note 8 hotspot. The Chromecast is now setup, connected to my hotspot, but I can't cast anything from Youtube, Allcast, etc from my Note 8 over its own Wifi Hotspot.
I have an apple tv that won't do this either. I really want to use the Chromecast to watch movies and streaming content from my phone (via Allcast or something similar).
Does anyone have any ideas, or real world solutions for using the Chromecast with the Note 8 WiFi hotspot?
I tried this once when my internet service went out while I was watching a hockey game. I never could get it to work either. I tried everything I could think of. I tried using another phone as well. I'm guessing it's not possible to stream to Chromecast from the same device that the internet signal originates. Seems like you could stream to it from the other phone, though.
But the real question would is... You realize even if you could get it to work, it's gonna eat through your mobile data ridiculously fast, right?
Good luck. If you get it working, I'd love to see what you did.
Yeah, I get that it will eat it up pretty fast. I have 10GB included with my phone, same with the wife's phone. I just hate not being able to do something that should be a thing. I guess I can use the other phone to cast through the wifi hotspot from the Note 8.
I wish there were a way to do USB tethering to my router... that would just be too easy...
