Duplicate files: why??

Im wondering if anyone knows what causes (generally music) files to be duplicated and stored on the phone? I got fed up this morning and deleted all the duplicates. Then after listening to music for about an hour at work, I noticed that it happened again! 3 copies of every song on 2 of the albums I listened to. Wtf? Might it have something to do with where I store them? Sometimes this happens on my PC too. Why does this happen and what can I do to stop it?

Do you have dropbox syncing turned on? Maybe the multiple locations are being synced.

No drop box sync, I'll try clearing the cache for Apollo. I've deleted all the music files for now, tomorrow morning I'm going to put them all back on my phone all in the same location so that it will be easier to track the problem.
You say try clearing cache, any idea why that would cause multiples of the same files? What is the process at fault here?

Also thinking its not the cache because the files are in the same location as the originals and they are mostly 0 or -1 bytes

I don't know if this gonna work for you but try.
Applications all media storage clear data and reboot.Might solve your problem

Thanks, actually the problem is solved after I did a clean install of the latest cm10, and retagged all the MP3s on my PC. They are behaving now..

It was happening to me a lot at one point then suddenly stopped. Clearing data cache always work for me. Hasn't happened at all on JB.

Usually what I do.... I unmount SD and remount it reboot. Dups gone.

I wondered about this also. I will try some of these tricks to see if they work for me.

Atrix 2 gallery

From two days i have a problem with the gallery of my atrix2 it is very slow in loading the photos preview and for the videos it wont load at all. I must play the video to see which video is. I dont know how to fix it?????? Help please

try using quickpic app from playstore.it happens sometime when the size of videos is large

Shouldnt have posted the same thing again, but i really like it, its free, best gallery app on the play store right now and best part is its ad free.

Used SD Booster, and problem solved.

ROM for Instagram

Hey guys this isn't a "best thread" by any means however since mid October, Cm10 has had graphics issues with editing pics in instagram. Lots of flicker and unusable. Does anybody know any rom that doesn't have this issue? Thanks

I know it's not full CM 10 but slim bean works awesome with instagram

If the problem is simply Instagram, go into System Settings->Developer Options->Disable HW Overlays. That should make Instagram work. It resets on reboot but just rinse, repeat, etc...

Yeah, it frustrated me as well for a long time and then one day I was reading on the CM forums and someone dropped that tip.

Unable to use Facebook on TB with latest app release

Now I am having this issue with my Thunderbolt with the latest FB update. On WIFI no issue, but no go on 4G, wifes HTC Rezound has no issues with the updated version either. This is very frustrating for sure. I have uninstalled the app, cleared cache, pulled battery, etc. I have reported to FB too, but wanted to see if others here are having same issues.

Here's what works for me, I NEVER use the facebook app, I delete it from my phone completely and log on to facebook mobile with my brower and then add it to my bookmarks.

Interestingly enough mine is actually working better than it has been in a while. The only issue I have is when my 4G flutters up and down. I am currently unrooted and stock as if my 4G keeps having this issue I am going to be doing some yelling down at Verizon.

Have you tried using another app like Friendcaster?

Remove, install older version from backup, disable auto update.
Backup often! Airdroid is the bom for that.

Are you rooted and using a ROM? Might be ROM related. I know this is the first time Facebook has worked for me this flawlessly.

What could Google possibly be using so much data for?

A couple days ago I checked my data usage and Google services alone totaled to ~12gb for a 10 day span of time. I decided to try and wipe/reflash (I'm running black bean v6) but now it's been 14 hours since i reflashed and I'm already back up to 377mb. I keep my data off unless I'm using it and I have all my Google sync turned off. Any ideas?

I use Now and it doesn't use anything like that.
If I look at even one whole month of data usage history Google Services has only used about 5Mb - and that's cellular and wifi combined.
Do you stream media or anything ? It seems like some kind of a mistake or error to me, but maybe not.

I have Google using crazy amounts of data too. I think it has something do with Google Backup. You could try Backup off from Settings>Backup and Reset
I don't know if that solves the problem buts it's worth a shot I guess...

That's the weird thing I don't have any Google sync no photos nothing even my email is set to manual sync. I keep my data off the majority of the day. I don't use navigation services at all.

Just one account. Background data is restricted, picasa is disabled, Google backup& sync is turned off
