Hi,
does anyone know a way for executing a script when a new mail with a certain subject arrives?
Since I'm active in civil protection, I'd like to have a second alarm besides my alarm pager.
I already can send a mail on incoming alarm (i have a zvei/pocsag decoder which sends out an email) which is routed via direct push to my Hermes, so I get the alarm about 1 minute later on my PDA (timing is ok for me at the moment).
I'd like to execute a script when an Alert-Mail arrives (detectable by subject):
* Change Volume to maximum
* Play a wav file
Any Ideas?
Best regards
Marcus

Use Qmail, it can be scripted.
Would be exactly what i was looking for if I wouldn't use Activesync, which seems not to be supported by qmail

OIC, so you're syncing mail from the desktop Outlook? Then, do the scripting in the desktop Outlook.
yep thats what i do, like have certain peoples email go into different folders on outlook. via activsync i mark the other folders for sync so that they will mirror on my pocket pc.
Menneisyys: no, i sync with mail2web via Activesync/DirectPush and UMTS Flatrate. I need an instant alert from my phone when I'm on the road - at home, I always have my pager around.
Anyway, it seems like PhoneAlarm will have a feature like that in version 1.60
Hi,
Looking for an App that will force a loud ringtone (even when on silent) when an email arrives (into Gmail box) from a specific email address (or addresses).
Basically a 'prioiry email' type application. I have had a nosey round the market and various apps seem to offer partial results but nothing concrete.
This is needed for overnight support at work - to make sure that any incidents wake up the on-call guys
in other words it needs to be a pretty stable app
Any thoughts ?
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.hubris.gmailnotifierpro&feature=search_result should be the solution, you'll need to set up a rule in gmail to put the mail in a certain label and then use this app
You might also be able to do something like that with Tasker. I know it is possible to trigger alarms and other changes/activities with SMS messages, so email may be as well.
Thanks Guys .... Ill have a tinker with both
I have looked at I would guess about 5-10 different applications to give me what I'm looking for with no luck.
What I Need:
Email client or Application to watch emails.
Sound notifications when criteria are met.
Ability to set days alerts are active.
I am willing to pay for the application as long as it works. I can also create a new email alias made just for these notification so filters are not needed.
Example:
If I receive an email from [email protected] with the title "Urgent"...
My phone wakes up, takes me off silent (if it's on) sounds an alarm (preferably from my notification sound list) and as an added bonus shows me the title and or body of the email.
List of application I have tried:
Tasker - Confusing as all get out.
K-9 - No filtered alerts
Mail-Alert - Says has sound notification but does not work in practice
MailDroid - No filtered Alerts (and no sound alerts)
Email Advanced - No sound alerts
E-mail Notifier - I have to new of a version of Gmail
And a few others a cannot remember at the moment.
Any suggestions?

This may have been covered before, but i can't seem to find anything on it, so please forgive my ignorance if it has.
I have a S3 Gear Frontier, i have the stock email app on my watch, and use the same stock email with 4 different accounts set up on my phone and as my email hits my phone (S6 Edge) it hits my watch (Great!)
What i want to do is check the email via watch (without taking my phone out of my pocket) read it and delete it, But, go into my phone at a later stage and either reply, or move it to a desired set up folder, or delete if not required.
Can i do this? Is there an option to be able to delete it from watch and not from phone? Or am i missing something in settings on phone / watch?
Really appreciate any info on this one, thanks in advance

I use aquamail as my main mail app and I can view all the emails, dismiss notifications and erase mails from the watch
Thanks for getting back, if you delete from aquamail does it still leave your email on the phone? Or does it delete on the phone aswell?

Mails are deleted on the phone as well, and marked as read on aquamail when I open them on the phone
I use Aquamail. On Gear we have juste notification and notification action for each mail : Read, delete... You can not check (or view) your mail from the watch, just incoming notification.
With Samsung mail app we can view all the phone mail with the watch mail app.

I check and view all my incoming mail from my watch. I can read the full email, dismiss notification or delete the message. Of course I can't access old mail, only the incoming messages

Yes just notification (like all other smartwatch) , no check mail in the mailbox like samsung mail app. And only few lines of the mail, not complete mail and often not enough to see what about mail.
