I'm now the proud owner a Nexus 4 (first Nexus device). I'm keen on getting a wireless charger for the convenience but the options are limited. I live in the UK and the options available here seem even more limited than what is available in the States. I am interested in holding out for the official Nexus wireless charger but I am wondering how the phone sticks to the charger? I use a TPU case for my Nexus 4 so I'm not even sure if it will work with this. It looks like the charger has a rubbery surface which grips the glass back of the phone (which may not work as well with the TPU case). If it uses magnetism, will this be powerful enough to securely hold the N4 through the TPU case?
The other option I was looking at is the TYTL Vu. It looks really great but the only downside is that the angle the phone rests at doesn't seem like it is steep enough. If it is on my desk next to a PC then I'm guessing I might need a steeper angle. I could prop up the back end to give this steeper angle but it's not ideal. If they made it with an adjustable height back support so the angle could be changed then this would be perfect. Obviously, as the phone only rests against the ledge on the TYTL, it will work fine with a TPU case. I'm not sure what the availability will be like in the UK though.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Sold me...I just ordered one.
This will now make 8 cases I own for the G2x...I think I might have a problem.

Just ordered one myself. Been looking for something like this.
I just received mine in the mail. I don't know how I feel about it yet, so I'll just post observations.
1) The holster appears to be of much cheaper quality than my Seidio holster.
2) The holster is dimensionally similar to the Seidio, and in fact, the same cases that will fit in my Seidio holster also fit perfectly in this holster (seidio surface, nillkin cases, and this new aquaflex case).
3) The pictures showed being able to insert the phone with the case into the holster with the screen showing, as well...However, there is no possible way to do this without damaging it, that I can see. I needed to take the case off in order to insert the phone into the case that way (with the case off, it does fit well with the screen facing you).
4) The belt clip has a neat "kick-stand" feature, by snapping the clip into the plastic tab. You can also adjust the angle that the phone will sit facing you. However, make sure you have battery life, because you are unable to plug in a charger while it's in the holster.
5) The HDMI output is not blocked by the holster (Seidio holster covers the hdmi output). I suppose this could be useful if you intend on hdmi mirroring a presentation or something. Limited, but potentially useful, feature.
6) The flex case goes on easier than any other case I have, by far...and I have 8 of them now...it simply pops right over the phone. However, the removal of the case is among the more difficult of all my cases. It is even more difficult than my Trident Aegis...the only reason I would rate it easier to remove than the Aegis, is that it is 1 piece, rather than 2.
7) I can see that it will take me getting used to the buttons. They are covered by the case, but they do have a molded form to them. So on the case, the power and volume buttons feel as they do on the phone. However, sometimes when you push them in, the case dampens the "click" you normally would feel. So it just feels different. It is just as responsive, and doesn't seem to require any more effort to push than without the case, but it does feel different, and will take me getting used to it.
8) The case has a good feel to it. Does not have that gel quality that snags on your pocket liner.
9) It is dimensionally almost identical to the Seidio Surface case. Slightly bulkier than the Nillkin cases, but definitely provide more protection.
10) The color scheme of this case seems to match the G2x very well.
11) The seam line from the molding process is definitely visible, and someone raised. In two spots on mine, there is excess material. I think I can trim that down pretty easily with a blade.
12) The screen protector feels pretty smooth. It seems a bit thicker than I would like, but the cutouts are perfect. It is, however, of the narrower variety...narrower than the protector that came on my phone from T-mobile. I will not be installing this on my phone.
edit: I just discovered that I can sit my phone (with the case on) in just the bottom lip of the holster, and adjust the "kick-stand" back to the deepest decline and the phone will be facing me at a proper angle for watching video in landscape mode. This is definitely a plus, because I didn't want to have to take the case off during the day (unless I have to battery pull, but that has become basically non-existent since I started using Trigger 2x rom). BTW, this can also be done in portrait mode...but is somewhat less stable (you have to touch the screen softly).
another edit: If I can obtain another camera to take some good pics, I'll take pics of what I'm talking about so it's easier to follow what I'm describing.
I just got this case ordered hopefully I get it this week
Hi All,
Well I've not really done many reviews so I may miss things or not do so well but will try to cover as much as I can, if you have any questions by all means ask. This is mostly my thoughts on the Noreve Leather case for the Nexus 4 and when used with Qi charging systems, there seems to be views and opinions on Qi chargers and some cases but none leather. I like to look after my phones, while the glass used these days is nice and strong I have found out the hardway that they still can break quite easily.
I've had bumpers, back covers and skins before but still had accidents involving broken screens from time to time. So I know try to look at covers that will protect the whole phone, normally a leather flip of book type case of some sort. After reading a few thoughts and reviews on Noreve cases on this forum I became very interested indeed. So I ordered one and let me say it is fantastic, the quality and finish of the final product is just simply beautiful. They are not a EL Cheapo PU leather case, infact they are fairly expensive but you would expect this considering it is a hand made item by a true craftsman using genuine leather.
The case's base is made from a molded plastic, with the sides being made from metal (most likely steel) and then has the leather fitted skillfully. Well then end product is simple and elegantbut extremely functional in providing full protection for your nexus 4. The sides are quite snug fitting, this case really holds your phone well and provide good side protection but allows use of all side keys and acess to charging / Headphone sockets. It closes quite positivly and stays shut very well, takes a little getting used to opening it but I like the secure feel of it.
Anyway, there's other revies of the quality fit 'n finish of this product. While it's not that cheap it is beautiful and doesn't bulk the phone up anywhere as much as you might think. Now the other thing I was also interested in was Qi charging, I've tried a few of the cheapies about but they had to have the phone in exactly the right spot or they didn't work. No option of just buying Googles Orb in Australia yet, so I found one being sold online from Gadgets4Geeks website.
They had a video showing this charger working with a few different types of cases, so I bought one to try out. Works fine with different cases just like the video shows, well will it work with a leather case?
Answer is this charging pads seems to work perfectly with the Noreve leather case, I've taken some photos of the phone in the case showing the wireless charging working and a few of just how beautiful and well made this case truely is.
The Qi Pad
Phone shown charging still sidesways, while the phone does need to be put in the right area for charging to work it's quite a decent area so the phone also charges fine even if placed down on a angle. Nice and easy, the other thing I like is it beeps when it's made a connection/started charging and then once again when charging is finished. Thats it, the charger then turns off, none of this repeated beeping on or off like some of the chargers out there.
Now a couple more close up shots showing the beautiful Noreve case and how well it fits the Nexus 4 offering both style with very good protection

Which Noreve?

Any idea WHICH case this is from Noreve. Tradition isn't one of the options on the site, and I want to make sure that I get one that works with a Qi charger.
It's listed on their site, here's a link http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/pro...=2679&osCsid=ba83d3b5b01db61f347d18b1290b60cb
Then lower down is your selection of colours and different finishes to the leather, I bought mine from a different site though as it worked out cheaper than direct from Noreve. I got mine through MobileZap online, heres a link http://www.mobilezap.com.au/38454-noreve-tradition-case-for-google-nexus-4---brown.htm
Some of the Noreve cases have the option for a belt clip also but I didn't get that as I was worried the metal clip would stop the case siting flat as well as Qi charging not working. I have noticed that Qi charging is slower with a case fitted but I guess thats to be expected as the phone is further away from the charging surface, I really love this case and am so glad Qi charging at least works.

I too have a Noreve case for my new Nexus 7 but I have not been able to find a Qi charger that works with this case. Can you please tell me the brand so I can search for a source here in the US? Thanks!
Towards the end he mentioned Gadgets4Geeks.
Here is the link for the charger: http://www.gadgets4geeks.com.au/product/qi_wireless_charger
Yep, the QI charger I'm using is from Gadgets4Geeks. Still using it and the same leather case without any problems, the charger works a treat. I think it may charger slightly slower (though I've not timed/tested this) with the case than without. I don't ever take it out of the case, extremely happy with this set-up
Incase it helps the info on the underside of the Qi charger is this:
Wireless charging pad
Model: T-100
input: DC 5v, 1500mA
Made in China
I want to use my note 8 to make my powerpoint presentation with. What case would allow me to hold it steady in my hand while taking?
I frankly recommend the newly released accessory named the "desk." These devices are supportive of the drop and break club.

I have a number of cases ranging from cheap $5.00 gel rear cover to full protection zipper shell that are $30.00 to $50.00 in leather.
Only the gel rear cover offers full functionality without mods. Though wife preferred to have me cut out the integrated side button protectors on the cover. I liked the protection... so it is a matter of preference. They do have them with and without, depending on Chinese distributor.
I protected the front with $18.00 tempered glass from China, it is the same thing as the popular known (name not given). In fact the instructions clearly state the name of the product that you find here in the states for over $30.00. Go figure.
I really liked the feel and function of the cheap $9.00, Chinese thin snap on folder cover that offers the versatility of desktop stand and has a simple way to keep the folder in place while folded back, and has a built in hand strap for secure holding. It is the thinnest, yet has a draw back. Even though it has a good magnetic sleep switch, the design uses clip fingers to hold the tablet. One finger is made too long and does not allow a fully flat closure. You must modify the finger by trimming.
I did not like any of the cases that have the round hole in the back for swiveling 360 degrees. Some have a flap thing to hold the cover closed, but did not design it well enough to keep out of the way of the screen.
I did find one for women, that has the swivel capability but the magnetic way of securing the cover was too weak, so the cover would flap about. Else it would be almost as good as the cheap one that is flat. It costs $20.00.
As far as the best protector the full body zipper type works pretty good at protection... I chose a case logic as they are easily available and has a feature that zippy cases don't have. A built in desktop stand that folds away. Even though the instructions don't state proper use in hand, you can reverse zip the case fully open for flappy free in hand use with either hand. The only two draw draw backs are, that the case's hard shell disallows charging and it is the bulkiest of the bunch. You can remove the stretchy hold downs at the bottom corners, to allow the tablet to angle up for charging. You can use a gel protector with this case, for 2 in 1 use. As the gel cover allows better grip and is light weight for long term use in hand. For $30.00 it is the best made case available at that price range.
Well that is it in a nut shell... there is no perfect case made that I am aware of, so one must weigh importance of function over drawbacks.
I'd go with something like the MoKo folio case, as it's got a smart cover that folds backwards and reveals a hand strap. About as good as it gets if you have to 'hold it' while talking. I prefer to sit the tablet on a table using such a case.
If bandwidth permits you might also look at AllShare Cast / Miracast capabilities versus MHL, so you don't have to worry about dangling a MHL adapter out the bottom.

My boss bought one of these and it rocked, so I purchased one for myself. Highly recommended and at a decent price. This thing sticks to anything and because of the way your can move it around you're able to position it pretty much anywhere it will reach securely.
If anyone knows of some other cool holders like this then post here. I'd like to see some nice quality and functional car smartphone holders. :highfive: :cyclops: :good:
That is a really nice car mount but if you're using a thick highly protective case it either doesn't fit or just barely holds on to the phone. I read an Amazon review that said it did not fit a N4 w/ Otterbox Defender and another Amazon reviewer posted a picture of a N3 with a thicker case that the holder just barely held. If it had longer arms so it could hold thicker cases I'd buy one.

Holds the Note 4 with incipio dual layer case with a little room to spare. Had the previous version for use on my S4 but when switching to the Note 4 I had to upgrade the mount. From reviews I read, people were stating that the OP mount shaked because of the extending arm as well as doesn't fit the Note 4 with any typos case which is why I opted for this mount.
iOttie Easy One Touch vs. Easy One Touch 2
I agree, the iOttie Easy One Touch 2 is a pretty darn good mount, but I have found it to be slightly inferior in design to the original, which I used with my Galaxy Note 2. Why did I change? The sticky gel was wearing off and I liked the extension arm of the new mount. Here's my comparison of the Easy One Touch vs. Easy One Touch 2 based upon fitment with a Galaxy Note 4 which I recently purchased.
EOT: Double feet provide more secure grip of the phone but risk obscuring a port. Some side-to-side adjustment yet less than the EOT2. Curled feet also offer the potential of holding the phone a little more securely. Feet are on an extension that adjusts for length, further benefitting the overall fit and giving stability to button operations without causing ann lever-action of the phone that might cause it to pop free if the buttons are pressed too firmly. Mount is slightly more shallow in depth than EOT2. Cases with a centered kickstand on back might add too much thickness for cased phone to be use. Phone mount has a removable ball plate, which may be replaceable if broken or interchangeable for use with other iOttie bases (not sure, never looked).
EOT2: Single foot provides more side-to-side adjustability but is straight (no curled lip to grip phone's edge) and does not offer any adjustment for length, so some phones that are longish might be a little off-center and seem a little less secure. Claws of mount do seem to hold with sufficient strength that even if phone feels a little loose when pressing a button, the phone stays in the mount. Extension arm has some play in it that may cause additional vibration, but can be shimmed up with some duct tape (I used black Gorilla Tape). The extension arm also introduces more vibration just by the very nature of positioning the phone farther from the base. Stability can be maintained by positioning the phone to rest a corner or edge on the cowl of the intstrument cluster if your vehicle design is such as to facilitate that.
I have used both mounts successfully with a relatively slim-fitting Seidio Surface case on my SGN2 but found my SGN4 in a CellBee Rigid Metal case (thicker with kickstand) would only barely fit in the Easy One Touch 2 and not at all in the more shallow Easy One Touch. That led me to not using the CellBee case, which was fine, given that Best Buy just started carrying the Platinum Series clip/hoster case for the SGN4, that case being the Best Buy twin of the Seidio Surface. My first SGN4 case purchase was the Spiden Neo Hybrid, and it works fine with the Easy One Touch 2.
The Easy One Touch sells for $20, which I think is great so long as it remains available and if you don't need the benefit of the extension arm. If you do and can accept the drawbacks of the Easy One Touch 2, then at $25 it is still quite a nice mount.

ONE OF THE MOST DETAILED POSTS I'VE EVER SEEN HERE :good::good::good::good:
Thanks...brevity is not my forte', for better or worse.
I got a OP7Pro recently and am really liking the phone in nearly all ways except for the lack of wireless charging. I have a few specific needs while on the road and the lack of wireless charging is very problematic for me.
To try to compensate for this, I grabbed a Nillkin Magic Tag (USB-C Short version) for $13 on Amazon. This adds the missing functionality very well and seems like the best possibly way for me to correct this one problem for me.
However, I'm trying to find a case that plays nicely with this particular Qi addon. Not that I have very many cases (a couple official cases and a Speck case) but all of them bulge a bit due to the thickness of the pad of the Magic Tag (surprisingly, they're all fine with the USB-C connector and cable, which is what I thought I'd have problems with). This bulging has minor side-effects such as causing the cases to be "creaky", causing the back of the phone (well, case) to be curved resulting in my phone sliding off of Qi docks, buttons and cutouts not quite lining up perfectly, gaps between the case and phone beneath the camera, etc. that I'd like to avoid.
Does anybody know of a good case that has a bit of a cutout in the back that could accommodate this Qi coil without such a bulge? I was previously loving the first-party carbon fiber case but this bulge makes it much less good.
Any luck with this? My dbrand grip case is deteriorating so looking for the best option to work with the wireless charger. Leaning towards this one so I can cut my own recess if needed.
