Everyone has a different way of liking roms!! No Rom is best! U gotta try itself by reading features and bugs from the thread!
Next time don't create useless threads please
@Mods close this thread pls
Take a look at thread in my signature. As Parth said, each persons choice differs but check it out anyway. Bit more clear

ask the manufactures 4 that or try to search in htc's website.
You can compile a kernel from sources at htcdev website..
It'll work only on GB or below..
Wouldnt work on ICS/JB.. :good:

Actually they both arent tough.. You just need to know some basic "slang", ie, the terms commonly used, and some programming of intermediate level(this is needed if you want to change something in the source).. Otherwise, all you do is download a source already defined by someone, and build a zip from that source with a bunch of commands.. Childs play..
When you fix problems in the source itself, for eg, to make wifi/bluetooth work, thats when you need some knowledge, ie, thats the hard part,,
Building is very easy.. All you need to build is good computer speed, and patience..:good:

The link for kernel and rom making
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1891046
The version depends on what you are going to build.
I have tried this tutorial on ubuntu 12.04, and it didn't work for me, perhaps, for I didn't configure things properly, and i was trying to compile for ics/jb.
Sarthak says that it works fine on ubuntu 11.10, 32 bit ( kernel making):victory:
Also, the source is just 100 mb or so. The toolchains are around 400 mb.:crying:
But, if you are planning to build ROM's on 32 bit, avoid it.
"avoid 32 bit if possible." That's what sarthak told me to do. so , i didn't.
P.S: most of the custom kernels i have used (not overclocked ones), have caused a lot of battery drain. Just make sure that your's doesn't.:fingers-crossed:

I have the zip file..
But im not sure if thats the roms with the aparrence of sgs3 jelly bean 4.1.2 , please help me
Please read the stickies. Vincom has tried to make them as helpful and easy to follow for users who are let's say "new to the process" . I could break it down for you, but doing some in depth reading on your own is certainly necessary based off your post. If you read thoroughly and still have remaining questions then come on back. Nobody wants to see you brick so read up.

liste dude , dont waste my time reading if you not gonna write something to help , this forum is for ppl that can help and give ideas ok? Dont write on my post if u dont like it
If you have the zip file and have read the stickies, then in cwm you're going to factory reset, wipe/format data, system, and cache. Then install the rom. You'll have to then sign into Google and re-install your apps. Back everything up before you start
The stickies will have greater detail, but pay attention on how to do the wipes. And make sure the zip you have is for your specific device, all s2´s are not the same. If you use the wrong one you will brick you phone.

Hi all,
This thread is to collaborate all efforts towards porting kernel 3.4.x for HTC Explorer. Developers wishing to participate in this project can fork my repository and submit patches to the same.
Source Code
https://github.com/cuteprince/htc_pico_kernel_3.4.10.git
Why Do We Need Kernel 3
Easier updating the kernel to add security and performance boosts from mainline Linux kernels
More support for new versions of Android.
Faster, more secure system
Because it's just better
Status
Kernel get past HTC splash screen and reboots.
I have ported all the board specific stuff, fixed dependencies, Kconfigs, Makefiles and rewrote many APIs to make it compatible with kernel 3.4 .
The source code is fully compilable
How To Build
$make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE= <Path To Your Toolchain> -pico_defconfig
$make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE= <Path To Your Toolchain>

There is no "best kernel" as its in the eyes of the user... please try not to use these terms when asking about a developers work, each one strives to create awesome software and every release had a lot of time and knowledge go in to create it. Each and every tweak, mod, kernel, and rom is awesome.
However the way I would approach your situation is like this.... Rohan is the dev for king kang... And Rohan is the dev for the awesome kernel in original development section.. So I'd say its a pretty safe bet that both pieces of work do very well together. (Which I happen to know they do)

Hi Friends
Is there ANY bug free (no issues) ROM exists for HTC Exporer (Pico) ?
Each and every ROM has some one or more issue(s) starting for CM9.1, CM10, CM10.1, in every build.
If you know any CM ROM/build without any issues, please let me know.
