Boot into recovery and flash a new rom?

What did you chose in the recovery?
My first guess is that you wiped your system partition. (That WOULD mean you don't have a ROM installed) Try flashing a new one.
Power down your phone
Press the volume down and the power button together until you are in the bootloader
Choose recovery (use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to confirm)
Now flash a new ROM or restore a backup. Don't forget to flash the boot.img, if you are HTC Dev unlocked.

does yor recovery show errors like "E:Cant mount cache" ?

Thanks !
I realy wiped the phone, and there was no rom

[Q] A700 unable to boot into recovery after flashing cm10.1

Hi there,
thanks to this forum I was able to flash several HTC phones sucessfully, but today I got perfectly stranded.
The original android version (jelly bean) of the Acer A700 was 4.1.1.
The plan was to get root access and put on CyanogenMod cm-10.1.0-RC5-a700.zip
Here is what I did:
- unlock the booloader (fastboot oem unlock)
- getting root access using easyroot.bat
I checked root access via "rootchecker" and everything appeared to be fine.
- Installing ClockWorkMod Recovery
- Under "recovery" I selected the A700 and also flashed the touch version of CWM
I opened up CWM and selected "reboot into recovery"
The A700 did was it was told and I got the usual CWM menue and could see the
desired cm-10.1.0-RC5 on my SD card
So far I was impressed how simple everything went and carried on flashing the CM10.1.
Before I did so I made a backup of the actual ROM on my SD card, then I selected
"wipe cache" an started the flashing process from the SD card.
Everything went fine and after a short time the rotating CyanogenMod Logo appeared.
However, the logo keeps on spinning an nothing else happens any more (20+ minutes)
I powered off the device and tried it again with the same result.
I also tried to press [power] + [vol -] to boot into recovery.
Letting go the [power] button and keeping the [vol-] button pressed after the device
vibrates for the first time brings up only "bootloader version JB365b3d3 (unlock mode)"
but the second line "loading recovery kernel image" does not appear anymore
In other words pressing the keys will show no difference to a normal start procedure.
When I connect the A400 with my PC and type in "adb devices" I get its number but the comment "offline"
In short, I have no idea what I could have done wrong nor how to access the device again
Is there someone out who can help me? - Thanks a lot in advance!
Comming from stock ROM, You must do Factory Reset / Wipe ALL to boot properly CM 10.1
About ADB, you must upgrade your Android SDK/ADB tools to the latest version, ADB changed a little with Android 4.2.2
With adb working, you can launch
adb reboot recovery
It should work, then make factory reset, and try to boot
Thanks a lot for the very fats response ... to be honest I thought, questions like mine are unlikely to be answered (oh no, not another dung-head who bricked his device)
However, I downloaded the latest adb version (dated 2013-05-22) and tried it again, but without success.
I can apply [pwr] + [vol-] ... [lock] to bring it into fastboot download mode.
At least the A700 shows the following lines:
Bootloader: Version JB-652b3d3 (unlock mode)
Bootloader: Version JB-652b3d3 (unlock mode) Starting Fastboot USB download protocol
Having achies this I tried to re-flash the initilally installed but now missing CWM
fastboot flash recovery root/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.3-a700.img

finished. total time: 0.016s
Having done this I expected the CWM to be again on the A700, but when I start with [pwr] + [vol-] the A700 still does not boot into recovery.
Again I get this:
Bootloader: Version JB-652b3d3 (unlock mode)
followed by the nevern ending spinning CM10.1 logo ...
Without the adb running I'm pretty hopeless ... does a factory reset change anything at this stage?
You can try
fastboot boot root/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.3-a700.img
to go in recovery
and then in CWM
wipe all/factory reset
flash CM 10.1 again
flash gapps
reboot
We are ariborne, Sir!
Ereasing all partitions and flashing CWM again did the trick
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.3-a700.img
To be honest I don't understand why could not boot into recovery before?!
However all appears to be fine again!
Thanks a lot!
same problem
Hello, i have the same problem. I tried to flash CM with CWM but I didnt factory reset so my device is stuck. And i dont know anything about Sdk and Adb, can someone please explain to me how to do it
P.S: my bootloader was already unlocked so im very new to skd bull****, i dont know anything
2 hours I'm looking for a solution and this thead save my life
thanks for advises
the way I took is by the erasing all and fastboot boot recovery.img and after I install the last CM11 by the sdcard slot
Thanks a lot I can go to sleep

[Q] Stuck in a boot loop after using ASUS unlock tool

Hi guys,
I had a stock tf700, running ICS (4.1.1) and I followed the really good guide by sdbags on how to unlock/root.
I rooted it with no problems, and used the ASUS unlock tool which seemed to work (it says that my device in unlocked), but now I am stuck in a boot loop
It fully boots up and can stay working for about 30 seconds to a minute and then it just reboots.
I can get access to the bootloader but I have no idea what I'm doing. I haven't installed TWRP yet either.
I'm sceptical of just hitting "wipe data" as I hear I could brick it for good.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....I'm really at a loss!!
I've seen this behavior when the kernel was newer than the bootloader and incompatible - but if you haven't installed anything yet this is unlikely to be the reason for your problems. You can try to enable USB debugging, run "adb pull /proc/last_kmsg" and see if that file contains any interesting information about the reboot.
If you want to wipe data, you can choose RCK from the bootloader menu - if it loads the stock recovery (Android mascot with red triangle), you know that the recovery is good and you should be safe to run "wipe data". I have only seen the stock recovery once and that was almost 2 years ago, but if you press the Power button in the recovery, you may even get a menu from which you can wipe directly from the recovery (use power and volume keys to navigate).

Thanks for the advice. I chose RCK from the bootloader menu but it just boots normally....no Android mascot. Am I doing something wrong there?excuse my complete newbness)
Is there a big risk in running "wipe data"? If I haven't installed any custom ROMs or flashed anything yet, is the risk of a brick slightly reduced?

There's not much one can do wrong here - turn on tablet and hold volume-down until the bootloader menu appears, then hit volume-up to confirm "RCK", that should boot the recovery. If it starts the regular OS instead, something is wrong.

I wouldn't risk it if you can't even get to recovery manually ("wipe data" uses the recovery to wipe - if the recovery doesn't work, it's a hard brick).
Try installing TWRP via fastboot.

Asus TF700T Tablet fix
Try this, it worked for me....and the standard disclaimer: I am not responsible if you misunderstand instructions I give here, if my instructions are wrong, if you forget to charge the battery and the tablet dies halfway through a flash or if your house goes up in flames. YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK
Ok, so I think that I may have lost power during an upgrade (can’t think of any other reason for it!!) and ended up soft bricking my Asus TF700T tablet and recovery attempts would just lead to the dead Android with a red triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. My warranty having expired with Asus and any attempt for their assistance proved fruitless.
Well I researched and tried absolutely everything out there – (Hard Reset, installing TWRP, used a tool called Motochopper and flashing a custom ROM, downloaded and renaming .zip files, putting it onto a Micro SDcard is formatted Fat32, Scotts Tf700t Recovery etc.etc. etc.)
I even took it to the local shops and paid to have one of the Mobile Technician pop-up stores take a look at it, then a friendly techno geek………all with the same suggestions most likely a motherboard/hard drive problem.
My Asus TF700T tablet eventually ended up with just the plain white ASUS logo in the middle of the screen, some small print in the top left corner followed by the dreaded words “Unrecoverable Bootloader Error (0x00000000)”.
During all of my research I was led to believe that if you can still get to the recovery screen, where you see the 4 icons, all is not lost so I persisted.
Here is the instructions that I followed that restored my TF700T:
Download and install ADB, Fastboot and the required drivers - Download and run this cool little tool which has it all packed into one: [TOOL] [WINDOWS] ADB, Fastboot and Drivers - 15 seconds ADB Installer v1.1 - xda-developers (don't forget to hit the Thanks button)
NOTE: at the moment Fastboot seems to have issues with Windows 8
This awesome tool installs the ADB and Fastboot.exe to a folder on your C:\ drive (look for a file titled “adb”) as well as the corresponding drivers. This takes about 15 seconds to install following the prompts.
I installed the device drivers - if you have already tried to connect the tablet to your PC and it's recognised as a portable device you should be ok. If not, download the Asus Sync Utility from their support/downloads site and install it.
Download the latest firmware from Asus (Always make sure that you download the correct SKU version -WW, US etc.) and extract the zip twice so you access the blob file (a blob is a collection of binary data stored as a single entity) – copy and paste this blob file into the previously mentioned “adb” folder on your C:\ drive.
Reset the device with a paperclip/needle (about 2 cm down of the SDcard slot)
Power down the tablet and disconnect it from the keyboard dock.
Connect it to your computer via the original USB cable.
Push and hold the Volume Down key (left side of the rocker) and the Power key until you feel the tablet vibrate twice. Let go when you see the tiny script. Read it and it tells you that your tablet is now in Fastboot mode and you will see three or 4 icons (depending on the bootloader version). Select the USB icon to get into the Fastboot mode.
Your PC should acknowledge that a USB device has been connected (an audible indication) Don’t panic if the device does not appear under “My Computer” (as mine did not either – Fastboot will still communicate with it), you can go into Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/ Device Manager and you may see “Fastboot” icon, expand this and the device will be represented again by the “Fastboot” icon. Right click, select “Properties”, Driver tab and then select “Update Driver” and allow it to search automatically and update from the internet. This should then update and change to Asus icons. You now can be certain that you have the current device drivers.
In Windows Explorer navigate to the folder that contains your adb.exe and fastboot.exe
Win 7 press Shift + right click and select "Open command window here".
In the resulting command prompt screen type the following codes (those in bold):
C:\adb\ (or whatever the path to your fastboot folder is..)
fastboot devices (If that command returns a string of numbers and letters, you are good as gold. If it returns: "No devices found", fastboot is not working - yet - and you have to troubleshoot)
Followed by each in turn of the below, selecting Yes as required and allowing each to complete the process:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase misc
fastboot erase cache
The resulting screen should look something like this below – NOTE, I did make a couple of typos while I was attempting this which returned some multiple choice garble if this happens recheck you input instructions:

I disconnected and rebooted My Asus TF700T and I now have a fully functioning Tablet with a stock ROM.
It has been reported that after completing this you may have some issues getting back get into recovery, hitting RCK and getting the dreaded dead Android (with a red triangle with an exclamation point in the middle). I have not attempted this but have been led to believe that flashing TWRP 2.7.0.1 via Fastboot works.

if you can enter recovery do this.
Turn off the phone and put this rom for the f1f on the micro sd card.

then hold the power button and volume down and it should come up with a langauge to pick.

If fastboot mode is working, you can try to boot another recovery (twrp, with fastboot boot twrp.img) and wipe the cache partition (that might have update information on it).
If it's not enough, I'd try to wipe data. But before that, try to backup things while TWRP is working.

Looks like you have a locked bootloader with unlocking disabled via developer options. With bootloader locked,no recovery and cant boot to rom to enable bootloader unlocking you only real option is to follow instuctions in this post to flash back to original stock firmware using low level QDloader to flash entire phone in factory mode.
PS This is only for f1f not f1s. You do have a f1f, right?

The guide from "cyberkey.in/how-to-root-honor-6x-100-working/" is simply wrong when it comes to flashing the twrp recovery. If you really followed this guide completely then you flashed the recovery to the boot partition.
Use "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" to flash the recovery.
You will still have to flash the boot image to your boot partition then (fastboot flash boot boot.img).

I don't have any backup. Is there a way to just reset everything? Also I don't know how to connect to the phone anymore since adb won't find the device.

Use fastboot flash recovery twrpname.img to flash the recovery
Ok so basically I need to flash the boot image. However I don't know where to find the stock boot image. I downloaded the so-called "full version" of the stock firmware that I found here: boycracked.com/2017/07/20/official-huawei-honor-6x-bln-l21-berlin-l21-stock-rom-firmware/
However there was no boot.img file inside.
If you could direct me to the proper stock boot.img or send me one, that would greatly help. I had EMUI 5.0 with Nougat 7.0 I believe, phone version BLN-L21.

Thanks. I successfully updated boot.img and and recovery.img, but system won't load, so I might have imported from the wrong STOCK version.
I tried to reinstall a stock ROM using:
fastboot flash system system.img
But I got this error message:
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending sparse 'system' (444686 KB)...
OKAY [ 12.901s]
writing 'system'...
FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure)
finished. total time: 12.929s
Then I tried to erase the system file with "erase system" and got this error:
erasing 'system'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.013s
I guess that the only option now is to install the files on an external SD card?

I recommend you to download firmware files only from the official honor website or by using the huawei firmware finder(https://forum.xda-developers.com/tools/general/huawei-firmware-finder-team-mt-t3469146)
In this case try to use huawei firmware finder to get the right stock version for your phone. Download these two files: e.g. update.zip & update_full_BLN-L21_hw_eu.zip.
Export the following image files: recovery, system, boot and cust.
The try to flash them:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If flashing a partition via fastboot fails then it is usually because it's the wrong image or just not made for your phone.
Thank you guys, you saved my phone! I eventually managed to flash the files from Nougat update for European Honor 6X BLN-L21C432B360 that I found there: stechguide.com/honor-6x-b360-nougat-update/
Now the phone is working fine.

Hello! I tried to root my Honor 6x (BLN-L21, EMUI 5.0) following the instructions there:
cyberkey.in/how-to-root-honor-6x-100-working/
The bootloader was successfully unlocked.
But when I tried to flash TWRP the process failed and now my phone is stuck on boot :
"Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted [...] Your device is booting now."
I can get access to recovery and fastboot. I wiped the cache and tried a factory reset but nothing changed, my system won't start and I don't know what to do.
Please help!

Hello, could you be more specific about your problem? I'll be able to help you.
Brief Explanation:
From the screen on which you're stuck, press and hold power button for about 10 seconds to forcibly restart your device. when you see the same screen again, immediately press and hold volume up button(for about 3 seconds) to boot to eRecovery.
> Choose shut down option on eRecovery. press and hold vol down button and insert the charging cable to boot to fastboot.
> Press and hold power and volume up button to boot to recovery. (You could do this even from fastboot screen and the screen you're stuck at).
