[Q] Root Rogers One X - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Before I get into the problem I had 2 weeks ago, is there a safe unlock procedure and root procedure for the One X for sw version 4.1.1.
Thanks everyone

Go to htcdev.com unlock your bootloader... Than flash twrp 2.4 than you can only flash a custom jbsense Rom at the moment or your touch screen won't work so maybe check out viper or hatka or newts or one of the many in are dev section all great roms

Should have said root. Unlock is not the issue rooting 4.1.1 is.

[Q] How to root and change stock rom for XE ICS

Dear All
I have sensation XE stock rom ICS 3.23.206.151 HBOOT 1.27
Need to :
1- S-OFF
2- Root
3- change the Europian stock rom to Arabic stock rom
I know how to S-OFF from HTCDev website
I have the ICS 4.0.3 Arabic stock rom (Is there Gilly Bean?)
Now what to do? I need steps with links to details
If you haven't already used the HTC Dev website, DON'T!!!!
Doing so will make this process MORE difficult, not less.
The HTC Dev website will not S-Off your device. It will only unlock part of the bootloader. You want the whole thing unlocked with true S-Off.
And it's easier to do it on the 1.27 HBoot than it used to be.
See this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661631
Ganeshp is a super helpful guy and pretty much any question you have will already been answered by him in that thread.
If you have already done the HTC Deve unlock, use this guide to S-Off instead...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614617
It's a little more complicated, but it's making up for the problems that HTC Dev causes.
One of these two guides will get you S-Off. Once you have that accomplished loading a new ROM is the easy part.
But one step at a time. Get S-Off and if you have questions on a new ROM install come abck and I'll help you with that.
Thanks, I did not do the HTCDev unlock yet
so,
1 - I will use JB TOOL to unlock (S-Off)
2 - I will use One click root tool
both from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661631
Then what?

Buy the app from the Play Store. Its cheap. And it will flash the recovery for you. Plus the app is a great manager of all kinds of stuff dealing with recovery.

[Q] RUU Error 170

I can't seem to find any similar questions for the One X, so here goes. I'd like to do an RUU but I get an error 170. I'm giving this phone to my sister, is there anyway to restore to original and keep root? And if the RUU does that, how do I get around this error 170? I've installed and uninstalled HTC Sync, installed newest drivers... Dunno what to do now...
Did you relock the bootloader?
Did you reflash the stock recovery

I didn't, do I have to do that? If I do then I may just give it to her not stock... She's having fun with Google Now anyway. But just in case I have to do it, I have to relock, then it will work?

ok thanks. Still a bit confused. On the guide you linked, it says in update 2 - it is strongly recommended to follow the SOFF JB guide by auggie2k if you already did HTCdev unlock and got unlocked bootloader . for guide
So do i do this or not?
Sorry for confusion

no revolutionary doesn't support your hboot version

and then use this guide to flash custom roms
