No It can be flashed only through CWM...
But u can skip rooting...
Flash the CWM recovery first
Then Flash the stock ROM
Then Flash the stock recovery using the same proceedure as the CWM

I flashed system.img and boot.img via fastboot command on my KARBONN A9.it booted .It's close to stock experience with not much big modifications made.
But as expected colors were washed out and both SIM cards went undetected which means spice has also flashed new baseband on it.That's the reason I guess they didn't release an OTA.So may be a simple backup restore may not work on spice phones too.

Has anybody successfully restored the ICS backup in GB ? If there is really new baseband in ICS then we will have to update baseband first then flash the ICS ROM. I think baseband version in GB is V3062.

Baseband flashing is always a big risk. The Chinese w688 and w680 are yet to get ics update.By flashing the wrong baseband you can easily end up with a bricked phone.

I will upload an update.zip for you guys to flash via Clockwork mod recovery.[thank Suhas, coz this is based on the backup provided by him]
About baseband, baseband flashing is completely different from rom flashing. You cant do that via CWM recovery or by restoring ICS backup.Spice or Karbonn wont provide that,K-touch might provide that, but chinese equivalent phone of ours are yet to get ICS.
So its highly recommend u visit a Spice service centre and get it updated to ICS.

Here is the link to Spice ICS flashable via CWM recovery - http://www.mediafire.com/?8255p98plmnhjcm
Do the following before flashing
Boot into recovery -> Factory reset
Go to mount/storage -> Format /system
Note - Most probably your sim cards wont get detected because you need to be on the newer baseband(flashable files are not yet available)
This is for SPICE-Mi425 ,but Karbonn A9 users too can flash it. (guaranteed sim card wont work + display color problems )
@suhas - Please link this post on the first page

do i need to carry the bill to service center to update ics ??? well, tats a hypothetical question..... so pls just tell me guys who updated "did the service center ask u for bill"

Cwm from rom manager forced recovery loop
im using a sprint note 3 (sm-n900p) and i downloaded Rom Manager to get cwm and it said that it downloaded and installed just fine. i booted into recovery and it just loops over and over. If i remove battery and turn on normally, it'll continue to loop the same. the only solution to fix the loop i had was to take out the battery and boot into download mode, then i pressed down to cancel and it loads up normal. but for now, rom manager has messed up my recovery. (im not an expert on this, but im not a beginner either) just thought id give you guys a heads up

Hi,
I am using Micromax Infinity P275 CM10.
After upgrading to that ROM, the Novo_tools_v1.0.apk doesnt install for flashing the new version of CWM recovery i.e. 6.0.2.8
Can anybody please tell any other method to flash the New CWM recovery without Novo_tools_v1.0.apk or by any other apk as i badly need that "++++Go Back++++" button in CWM, which is there only in the new one.
Please Help.

Okay, first, make sure you have whatever you need backed up.
Second, wipe everything except SD card ( dalvik, cache, system, boot, data)
Third, reflash the ROM, and report back if your problem persists.

You can't dirty flash a 4.3 rom over a 4.2 rom like you did since the gapps are not compatible. It causes all sort of force close like you have. Do as Setting.Out said and make sure you download the correct gapps for 4.3. Flash them after you flash your rom.
try the rom at my singature

4.3应该是没有官方的,另外 I9023XXI1指的是基带版本,应该跟刷那个版本系统没什么关系,4.3除了cm以外没发现有哪个bug少的
the google official didnot release andorid 4.3 for android, you can download official image from here(just google search nexus factory image, then open first links and find out the image adapt you phone),using fastboot flash you phone :victory:
