Can any1 guide me how can i make search button as power button by using root explorer
My power key isn't working properly so
And one more question (noobish 1)
If i switched of my cell, which button will work to turn it on ? The search key which will be converted or the default power key..!!

just go to "system/usr/keylayout/" and modify "thunder_keypad.kl" and "qwerty.kl", exchange the text on the key 217 (search) with the text "power"
It should appear as:
key 217 SEARCH WAKE_DROPPED

Even if you mod the keys, the original power button will tur on your phone

Did you change the keys on both files? Thunder_keypad.kl and QWERTY.kl?
If that doesn't work try deleting every other entry with "search" and "power" other than the two modified lines.

Only WAKE not WAKE_DROPPED.
Remember file is 7k_headset.kl
But u still cant turn up your phone without a charger or usb cable :'(

i use the twrp recovery, press the search button instead of the power button.
how do i start the phone if its switched off ?

Going by your question il guess you are on miui(if not ignore and pls give more info about rom ur using,if yes then continue reading)
To take a screenshot in MIUI press the menu key(the led lit left key not the black key) and the volume down button together ...
Its preferred to press menu key before volume down so that your volume doesnt decrease while taking the screen shot

No, I am not using MIUI. I am using the stock rom Gingerbread 2.3.6 on my GT-I9003.

No it doesn't, only if you press volume down+home, which reboots our phone in every rom

U are r entering download mode instead of recover mode.. How exactly are u trying to get into recovery mode..? I'll tell u what wrong u r doing..

Yes ua right.., N by pressing volume - n power button takes u to download mode.. Guess u were doing that..

Hi Guys.
I saw a few users requesting to disable hardware keys in the new Tablet Rom from Revenge,
So here it is.
Flash file in CWM and it will disable the Menu and Back Keys, so your free to use on screen buttons
This mod is for XXLSC based roms but might work on others.
