sometimes uv causes problems with the "lack of " power. But maybe backup and do a clean install? Or wipe cache and dalvik

I whipped davlik and cache but it's the same. I have done a full clean install tonight, and wanted to try and figure out what was causing it before I borked it phone again.

If that doesn't fix things you should follow dragons advice and bump up the voltage. Too low voltage is known to cause things like reboots, stuttering, and general instability.

Can't get buttery smoothNess

I am running on kj6 asop style Rom. I have flashed universal shot 12 and asop add on. But i can't get the smoothness. Its choppy while scrolling.
Any idea why?

I would suggest first calling it AOSP like its called, not asop. LOL
Then it seems like you haven't wiped data in a while after many rom changes. Wipe data/factory reset. Reflash the rom, and don't flash any addons like icbinb airfluip addon and adrenaline shot. See how it works. If you like it, then stick with it.
Yea i am gonna do that. It was great before i flash the addons. And sorry about the mess up with name lol

Before you reflash anything, try wiping your dalvik cache and let it rebuild. Reboot into CWM > advanced > wipe dalvik cache > reboot phone.
DO NOT touch your phone for the next 10-15 minutes. Let the dalvik cache rebuild.
That might fix your phone's choppiness.

[Question] Kernel flashing and matrix kernel specifically.

Hello everyone!
Phone: nexus s 3g running stock 4.0.3 with matr1x 14.0 kernel
my 1st question:
i was wondering how can revert back to stock kernel without flashing my stock rom again or going back to my previous backup?
i know it is very easy to switch from kernel to kernel but i would like to know how to switch back to my stock kernel. If you come across a link please send it to me. Thanks much appreciated.
my 2nd question:
my phone reboots the 1st time when loading up matrix kernel.
what happens is i press the power button .. the phone boots up normally then halfway through the animation it gets stuck and the phone reboots BUT this time the boot animation works properly and i am finally booted to my phone. Note that i have absolutely no issues running the kernel + BLn + Voodo etc (also not oced either)
question how can i solve this? is it normal?
I have one last question (sorry lol)
about voodo colour is there anyway of removing the grren flash that i get from unlocking the phone.
i know i can reset to 2.3.3 colours and that does do the trick but i would like to use my own custom settings..
stock 3.0.8 kernel can be found here in 3rd post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399273
Questions regarding matrix should be asked and may already be answered in his thread
And green flash is common on kernels with voodoo it also turns screen green occasionally for me when auto brightness set
not sure how to fix haven't researched doesn't bother me that much

Alright...
First off is this a specific rom? Like kustom kream, nexus beam..
Or just stock ics rooted
Second, try this again.
Get the rom zip again, then get the kernel zip again.
1. Wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache
2. Flash rom
3. Set up rom
4. Go back to cwm
5. Wipe dalvik cache
6. Flash kernel
7. Reboot
Did you do it like that?

Green flash can be fixed by downloading the voodoo control app in the market then going to the RGB profiles then selecting the voodoo profile

Green flash can be fixed by using either 2.3.3 colors or punchy

im on offical ICS 4.0.3 rom stock (rooted) with matr1x 14.0 CFS
well i downloaded matr1x through rom manager and after wiping dalvik cache i flashed the kernel.
is there anyway of fixing without clearing data? i have a lot of stuff on my phone i would rather not erase... also im on stock ICS so how would go about flashing it again(its not like a rom i can just dl and install or is it)?
speaking of which i know titanium backup backs up apps but does it also backup like my contacts, sms and phone settings etc?
update: i went ahead and only deleted cache and dalvik cache and then installed the kernel again. same problem =/

anyways i just restored everything back.

im 16 aswell i dont even know the 1st thing about making kernels and so forth lol.
Lol sorry you couldnt get it to work...
The only other suggestion I have is to try another rom...

thanks for trying .
anyways the thing is the kernel works perfectly fine other then that and sinc ei dont reboot my phone so much its really not an issue for me.
just another quick thing since that is the only problem i have experienced with the kernel and that everything else is fine working fine should i be worried about stability?
No, the kernel is pretty stable out of the box.

Charging and Kernel question.

Since upgrading the CM9 kernel to a custom one, my phone will not boot once shut off unless I clear cache and dalvik. Is this remotely normal?

Thanks for the reply, anyone now know how to fix it or is it a wipe and reinstall?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
Try reflashing the kernel first and see how it goes. If that doesn't work it is probably best to wipe everything and reinstall.
i had a similar issue with matrix 14.5...it would boot loop unless i cleared the caches...i played around with the voltages and governors for awhile..and it was ok for a day or 2 then it started it again...so i ditched matrix and went with speedy 5 and i havent had a problem yet...

Your phone can't handle undervolt. That's the problem.
I use matr1x, have done since gb days and have never had a problem so its definitely just your phone.
Thanks for all the replies, just went back to stock. Can't have my phone acting up now that I am working. Will reroot once the update to ICS happens on Sprint.

When you really make a clean install of rom and kernel there shoudn't be such problems.
When changing KERNEL always follow this steps !!
1) CWM format /system and /cache
2) go to advanced menu, wipe dalvik.
3) Then reinstall your ROM, then flash kernel right after.
No data loss, system exactly as you left it, only difference is new kernel.
If you are switching to a different ROM, add format /data.

Still can't get this combination to work. I've done multiple wipes. Even used wipe tools. Any more suggestions?

Yup. Boot into CWM and format cache, data and system partitions. Wioe dalvik cache and then flash darkside. Odin back stock. Flash CWM. Flash darkside again. The flash sky ics. Reboot. TWICE. Then flash faux 010m.
I know it seems long but it'll take 10 min, tops. I can guarantee it'll completely fix your problem

lol I could have told u that. A non working camera indicates an improper flash, or remnants left over from previous roms, NOT a permission problem
I have the same issue, non working stock camera. I have to use a 3rd party app to take pictures. I did a full wipe using the wipe codes reflashed rom with kernel while wiping cache and dalvik and sti have the same issue. Has anyone found a fix to this?

[Q] BeanStalk 02/03/13 JB 4.2.1 Battery Life??

OK so i just got the Beanstalk jelly bean rom on my samsung infuse this morning and later on that day i've been noticing that my battery has been dying real quick.. So can someone help me or give me some advice to fix that problem? And there's a screenshot of my battery status below..
Whenever you flash a rom, always allow a couple days for the battery levels to stabilize. You just recently flashed it so it has to download, search files and whatnot and that drains the battery for the time being. The battery is going to give incorrect stats at first anyways because it needs to recoup and adjust to the new ROM too.

I'm not too caught up on jelly bean and ICS and anybody correct me if I am wrong but back in gingerbread it is a supposed Google os bug and can be remedied by pulling the battery wait 4 seconds then put back in and boot. It should have been fixed in ICS and jelly bean but I think I remember seeing small instances of it still. You could also clear dalvik cache and see if that helps too. It could also be the reason you asked about too. Never hurts to be too safe lol

It shouldn't have any gap..
You clear all cache and factory reset right?
If so, fully charge and don't use. Check standby battery life. Then check tour battery percentage while actually using it.

Well... The gaps are just phone reboots. Nothing to worry about there. My guess is your media scanner is stuck on for some reason. Mine did this. It would destroy the battery in a few hours. I could watch the percentage drop. There's an app in the market that can stop it. That's what I did until I was able to reflash the ROM. Let me see if I can find the app for you.
