Okay so hello, I am curious is there an app which you can set the buttons on our keyboard docks to emulate touch screen responses? Like say I want to play minecraft right? is there and app to assign say key "A" to a point on the screen so when key "A" is depressed it simulates you touching the screen in said spot? I apologize if there is already an app which allows you do do this, if there is could you give me general tips on useing said app? Thank you for your time and have a nice day

Something like a keybound touch simulator. I'll see if I can find anything to do this.
Love the mention of Mine craft, my fav game.

Is there an app that will allow you to use the Xperia Play physical gamepad on other Android devices like a tablet?
I've seen a lot of remote control apps but they are only for controlling using buttons on the touchscreen.
It would be best if it didn't require root.
Check a post of that in this section

If you find one, please let me know. There's an app called something like droid mote server which I think allows you to do so but you need root which I don't have

It puts Xplay controls on the screen of the phone, so if your tablet has a game that supports Xperia Play you can use that. As of now it doesn't map the physical controller inputs.
Maybe trying with the game keyboard app and this one??

That's a great idea. Unfortunately, I don't have game keyboard so if anyone else could try?

Doesn't droidmote server work? It needs root and isn't free but surely if it doesn't work you could get a quick refund? i don't have root and i'm still looking. Tablet remote seems to be the best so far. If only the developer updated it to make it work with the physical buttons...

How do i get an xbox 360 gamepad to work with shadowgun or dead trigger. My character just spins around and stuff like that. i can't even play the game. The controller works fine as it works with onlive. It's hard to even assign the controls as it automatically becomes joystick 3+ or something like that. Thanks for the help.

Not quite sure how it works with the xbox controller, but if its recognized by the game as a gamepad then you can assign the buttons on the settings of each game.

i tried it but the character still spins around. I can't even assign buttons on shadowgun with ease because it automatically becomes a certain button.

What you are saying is that when you try to assign a button it automatically sets it? so when trying to set several buttons you get the same mapping?
If that's what is happening maybe your controller is malfunctioning or the global mappings are wrong. Go into your tablets setting under input fins your controller make sure it has a check mark on the left side, then tap on the right side button to toggle the controllers specific settings. In there check the global mappings make sure that the buttons don't repeat themselves.
Hope that helps, I. don't have an xbox controller so I can't be much help.

Sorry, i didn't explain it that well really. It's like the analogue stick is malfunctioning so when i'm trying to assign a button, because the analogue stick is "malfunctioning", it automatically assigns the action to the analogue stick because it detects constant movement i think. The only thing i can do to get it to assign is to mash the button and what i want it to be assigned to constantly at the same time. The controller works fine. I don't know why it does that. Thanks for the help

Try cold booting and then reconnecting your controller. Is it wired or wireless btw? I hear some people are having problems with the wireless one. (You can also try pressing the stick to the bottom, that sometimes works with the xbox at least)
It's wireless. Thanks for the help

Impressive app. Allows for the control of the Xbox360 on the Android phone. Very responsive as long as you have connected the phone and your XboX on the same wifi network, otherwise it's pretty laggy. Using IE on the XboX becomes much more useful in that you can easily scroll and navigate the browser using your Android phone's keyboard and pad app that allows you to scroll horizontally and vertically. Still playing around with it.

Okay so bear with me here. I'm trying to figure out a way to connect my Samsung SGH-I927 (Captivate Glide) to the Note 10.1 so I can use the physical keyboard to type with on the tablet. Is this possible in any way so I can use the tablet as a monitor and my phone as a keyboard?
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium HD app
No you cannot do that as to recognize the phone drivers will be required which is not possible
Why dont you just buy a usb keyboard in that case a cheaper option or a bluetooth one
Oh okay, I was just wondering if it was possible. I wanted to find another way for people to type on the tablet without having to buy a new device. Thanks for the answer though.

Sv: Connecting a phone with the Note 10.1 in order to use the phone's keyboard?
There are apps to remotely control other Android devices, isn't it possible that such a solution will work? Since you can control the controlled device both with the actual device and with the device acting as a remote control, you should be able to use your tablet for everything and then just use your phone to write. I've not tried this though, if anything I would like to use my tablet keyboard to my SGS3 but since I can send sms using my tablet there's really no point to be honest.

You understand what I'm trying to achieve here right? It would be nice to be able to type on the tablet without having the virtual keyboard come up on the screen, using your phone as the keyboard for your tablet. (I'm assuming it's easier for most people to type faster on the phone rather than tablet). I'm not talking just sms, more as overall typing in every app, if possible.
Again, this is just a question which I'm hoping that we can find an alternative to using a bluetooth keyboard. It would be helpful for anyone who doesn't want to lug around more accessories for their tablet.

I think so! I'm sorry if I confused you with the talk about sms, that's just a sidetrack why I don't think many have this kind of suggestion.
However, my solution for you would be this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tournesol.tabletremote something like this, an app that allows you to remotely control another Android device including typing words (at least that's what the description tells). So, you use your tablet like you use to do and when you click on something where you wish to write you minimize the software keyboard on the tablet and use the phone instead.
I've not tried the app though, but there's a couple of different apps that do almost the same but in different ways and hopefully someone will do the trick.

No, it's okay, i just didn't want to be limited to sms .
I was looking at apps last night but it was late and didn't feel like running tests on different applications. I looked at that yesterday, I'm going to try it out later today. (still in bed at the moment since it's only 6:47 am). I also saw this app, and the interface seems basic. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...m=organic&utm_term=android+mouse+and+keyboard I feel like this could work also. The remote desktop by Kolakowski Damian doesn't let you control the tablet in the manner that you want to.

Well, there's a chance that you have to test a couple of different apps before you find someone that does what you want it to do and more importantly, in the way you want it to. But I can't see why you shouldn't be able to do it, I have the Unified Remote app to control my PC with my phone and typing works great even though I don't get any auto correction. After all, it's a quite simple feature and shouldn't involve too much data transfers that can cause lag if implemented correctly.

Tablet remote definitely works, but there's one major problem to it when you use the physical keyboard on the glide. If I wanted to enter special characters (colon, semicolon, apostrophes) it would not register on the tablet and only certain keys would hit. It works for the regular virtual keyboard on the phone.
If you want an alternative, smaller keyboard for easier typing, try out tablet remote. I'm sure there are more apps which I will look into and post on here.

I'm basically just guessing here, but I think that might be because you are not using the same ASCII codes on your OS as your app. In my opinion that shouldn't be a problem since it should just send the codes to the other device, but if it's converting it to text before sending it over there might be a problem. After all, the most common use for this app I suppose is typing in an URL or maybe search for a song, at least that's that I'm doing when remotely control another device.
If there's not any settings where to specify regions in the app, hopefully there's an app that supports US (?) keyboards.

Hey guys,
I have been looking around the forums and on Google and cannot find the answer so hopefully someone here has an easy fix.
So I got sixaxis working on my tf700 fine even playing dead trigger it is working except 1 little part. The main screen of the game where its like a birdseye view of a city where you can choose different levels and shops and stuff to go to. The ps3 controller will not work on the screen, it only works in the actual game when your running around shooting zombies.
Sorry if this sounds confusing but I tried to explain it so people know what screen I am talking about.
Thank You

Does sixaxis emulate your fingers touching the screen or does the game see it as a gamepad? This question has bothered me forever haha

Its both. It allows you to connect a ps3 controller with bluetooth and set it to either emulate touch or as a game pad. To do touch you have to set up things called profiles individually for each app you'll use it for. Like I use it for modern combat 4 and sas3 which neither support game pad.
