[Q] How to recover from restored nandroid GB over JB bricked - LG Optimus 3D

Hi,
I flashed CM10 thru CWM over a stock rooted GB rom and everything worked fine except for the network. In order to go back to GB to flash a diferent baseband i used a previous backup i made from CWM on GB, but after the recovery the phone just stops at the LG logo and doesn't boot. Did i do something wrong by restoring the GB Nandroid backup over the JB rom? How can i recover it?
Regards.

If the phone can't boot reflash the *.KDZ or try this :-

I messed up my O3d and i want it back

Hello all,
I own a optimus 3d phone. Yesterday i used superoneclick method and got it rooted. I installed rom manager to flash cwm. After that i did a nandroid backup so i can return back to stock. I flashed thiaizo3d rom, worked fine. I tried to restore the nandroid backup but i ran into an md5 error. As i couldn't fix it, i flashed another rom (king 3d) but it drains battery really fast. The thiaizo3d rom that worked well doesn't work anymore, i try to install stock roms and i get errors at the begining of the flashing process...i am sort of desperate. i want to return to stock and i can't, please some1 tell me what to do, what to flash. I didn't changed the baseband, all i did was to root and install cwm. i want my stock o3d back, help me!

[Q] ClockWorkMod recovery "Error while restoring /system!"

Well i am new to android custom ROM i was using my official gingerbread 2.3.6, I rooted my samsung galaxy ace and installed Clock work mod Recovery v5.0.2.6
I took the complete back up of my android os using it with reference to some youtube tutorials. Everything went fine and it showed backup sucessfully created like in the video. I even could install a custom ROM and run it on my phone.
When i started to restore from my backup ... during the time when it is restoring system , after a while it shows the error "Error while restoring /system!"
can anyone help me out to get my official copy of gingerbread back....??
Any HELP is appreciated....!!!!
Thank you in advance...
You can only use CWM to restore the system image for the Rom you're currently on. You need to flash back to GB and then use your nandroid to restore your setup.
Did you installed ICS firmware? Because gingerbeard can't run on ICS firmware
Hey thanks for the help.....
i got the problem fixed by installing gingerbread os first and then recovered from clockwork mod recovery......
Now i have all my files and same os that i have backed up!!!
Is it so that you cant resotre a ICS backup when current roms is Jelly Bean?

I found this with both JB and GB ROMs trying to restore ICS but the problem is resolved the way previous posters have stated install rom of correct android version then restore.. or else your bricked.. and its akward being bricked in greece on holiday with no computer...
Ok, then I have to look for a ARHD 4.1.0 version. (android 4.0.4).
somebody can help me?

I am having the same error. On Lollipop custom rom, trying to restore Kitkat CWM backup. Then, i get error while restoring /system. So, I flash the same custom kitkat rom, where my backup is based on. Reboot and went through initial rom setup and confirmed it's running Kitkat and same firmware as the CWM backup I was trying to restore. Reboot in Philz CWM and proceed to restoring that back up and i am having the exact same error (error while restoring /system!). I checked on the CWM log, it says "tar: invalid tar magic". Does anyone have any idea?

Are you restoring a nandroid for an ICS rom within blue CWM recovery? If so, and if everything else flashed successfully, you can try flashing an ICS kernel image using Heimdall or Odin. If that doesn't work, then you have a borked nandroid restore and need to Odin or Heimdall back to stock Gingerbread and start over.
If you happen to be trying to restore a Gingerbread backup (which I don't think is the case, since you mention a boot.img), then you need to get back to red CWM recovery to restore the Gingerbread nandroid backup.

Please help PLEASE (failed nandroid restore)

Hello, i previously recovered using xsball gingerbread guide, i thought id brave roms again and was using touch recovery that came with the guide. To help things a long i took backups and restored then when roms failed etc. this all went fine.
I thin thought, maybe its because im using touch that roms were failing so i installed non touch 5.0.2.0, took my backup and flashed my rom (CM10). This failed (bootloop) so i tried to restore my backup. CM repotred that the backup was successfull but now when i reboot im stuck at LG logo with all of the lights on and nothing happening.
I can get back into CWM can anyone suggest ANYTHING?
Maybe if someone could upload the same version of CWM touch that came with the GB guide i could flash that via CWM non-touch somehow?
can someone suggest ANYTHING to get my phoen to work again
Thanks (Desperate)

Galaxy Fit recovery problem, please help!!!!!!!

hello i am new to xda and just created a thread for help about my problem. I flashed razodroid v4 one day and thought of flashing jb 4.2.2 touchwiz rom. I flashed it and it worked fine for some days, then i thought of flashing sd-ext patch and it also worked fine with my ext4 sd card.
one day when i was tired of my slow phone, i installed the badass kernel and it installed succesfully and worked for some hours.....
after that the phone turned off suddenly and never went on always went to the text Galaxy Fit GT-S5670 and then nothing..
then i flashed the froyo official stock rom from odin it worked fine but there the recovery was showing the following problem and i was not able to flash any rom from recovery from that day.....
plzzz help me from this problem i want to upgrade to android 4.3 i am now having the gingerbread stock dxkt7 that i flashed from odin.
Reflash latest 2.3.6 [Gingerbread] firmware using odin --> Wipe everything --> Flash CWM --> Flash your desired ROM following all instructions perfectly..It should solve all problems..
Btw why you had flashed froyo firmware..?

The certain errors u r seeing in cwm recovery will disappear when u flash ny custom rom. They r only visible under samsung official stock rom.
Edit: & do format /system b4 flashing custom rom for the 1st time over stock otherwise u will get hanged at the android-text/boot-up screen forever...remember that..!!
no luck yet!!!!!!!!!!
