[Q] iPhone convert: confused about Gallery - General Questions and Answers

I've been fairly successful in making the transition from iPhone (since 2007) to Android. I have one "issue" that I can't quite get my head around yet.
On the iPhone every picture you take or save (regardless of the app) ends up in the Pictures app in one big list (which I like).
On my Samsung S3 (running 4.1) every camera or photo app ends up getting it's own album/folder in Gallery. I know some might like this arrangement, I find it confusing, since I end up with a whole bunch of albums with only 2-3 pictures.
Is there a way to view all the pics (rather than by album) in the native app? Alternatively, is there an alternative app that might do this?
Thanks.

Try Quickpic from the Google Play store.
Its free and I like it very much.

[Q] app request

I remember when I had my G1 and the market was not overflowing with crap, there was an app in the market that would allow your to use your camera and write a vitrual note or image on any surface and then post it for anyone with the app to see. You could then find other notes in real-time with the app using the camra and it would tell you how far away the note was from you and listed the username that posted it. As you got closer the text got bigger and became more readable. what was this app that used augmented reality?

[Q] Supernote on Tab 7 plus?

I am trying to find a good note taking app to go along with my GT-P6210, and I came across the Supernote app on the Asus Transformer. I have heard some great things about it, but I can't find it in the app market. Does anyone know if its compatible with the Tab 7 plus?
Also, if you know of any good note taking apps for a college environment, feel free to suggest. I am looking to be able to make bullets and sub bullets (something evernote cant do) and I would like to be able to write or draw directly into my notes with a stylus.
Evernote w/ skitch allows me to write/draw, but the downfall is that it groups all my drawings seperate from my notes.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Supernote is specific to that tablet but there is an extracted apk though it's not optimized for our tab. Search the forums for it.
You can try quill.

I looked up quill and I may be wrong, but it looks like you can only write. But I found a Supernote apk so ill try that out and let you guys know how it is.
It's working, but not fit to screen... deleted.
Supernote is such a good app...........but it doesn't fit the screen. The sidebar gets cut off so you can't use certain features. It would be amazing if it was optimized for our size tablets
I like Supernote so much I've adapted to using it on the GTP with parts of the app being off screen. I'm hoping that if Asus ever releases the Memo 7" tablet to market there will be a version of Supernote for it. They've teased it at the 2011 & 2012 CES.
alternative to supernote
The app that I use more is Catch Notes, cause it lets me syncro with my phone, but it is not on the same league.
Give GNotes a try. I just recently discover it. It has bullets, you can type, handwrite, attach a picture, a video or some sound.
But actually, I was so busy trying to find a good app, that I didn't realize how good the stock application included in the tablet is. I'm taking about the one that can be found in the bottom bar. You can attach pictures, you can synchronize (haven't try yet), you can write anyplace in the sheet, handwrite (better than GNotes) and it floats on top of the other windows, allowing you to take notes while you are reading an article, for example.

I totally agree with you. The stock app is totally good! It even syncs well with Google docs.

Gone 'all Google', need help finding app or solution...

Hi. I recently uploaded my entire photo collection (19.500 photos) to Picasa / Google Photos in an effort to make my life a bit easier. Last year I did the same with my docs, music and videos. The idea is to remove the need for a M$ PC in my home, instead accessing all my content from the cloud via my Android units. So far it has worked wonderfully, and I'm really happy I did it. However, one point has cropped up, and I hope you guyz can help me. Earlier I used to make a photo collection or two each year of selected photos using a PC-based PhotoBook creator (CeWe: http://www.cewecolor.de/en/home.html), and getting a nice, paper album sent home to me. The question then is, is there a way (app or (android browser friendly) solution) that would allow me to select images from my Google-Picasa-Photo-Cloud-Storage, set them up in scrapbook/album fashion with annotations etc. and finally ordering a printed album like I did before?

Searching for an App to take interval photos with the Gear 360 (2016)

I heard, that here are a lot of people with a great knowleadge about Samsung-products, Android and development. So I hope one of you can help me to solve a problem.
I have a Samsung Gear 360 (2016). The camera make bad videos, but great photos. (30M). 30M (7.776 x 3.888) is a extremly good result in this price range and you will not found a other product. Even the GoPro Fusion or Garming Virb 360 can't do this.
My problem: I want to take a photo every X secounds, but this isn't possible with the original firmware / Gear App. It's possible to take a photo every ~eight secounds using the StreetView App, but ~eight secounds are too long and it's saved in the app, so I can't transfer the photos to my pc (that's the mainproblem).
I want to ask, if someone is nice to me and can develop an App, that can take a photo every X secounds and save it to the camera (microSD card).
I have looked by myself to find alternatives or a way to create an App by myself, but I dont have this knowledge. For now I only found some Github repos. No idea if this is helpful or a startingpoint.
github.com/ottokiksmaler/gear360_modding
github.com/ultramango/gear360reveng
Would be nice if someone can help me. It's OK to bring the App into the Play Store. I would buy it.

Dumb Questions: gPhotos

Is it the only gallery option stock? I just never have liked it an this it my first foray into Pixel. I guess it makes sense that they lock you into their apps by default. I hate the idea of having to trial a bunch of third party apps and figure out what covers my basics without tracking or hacking at me.
I disabled Photos and when I take a picture and hit the little icon of said picture it pops up to look at an instantly shrinks down and goes back to camera. So I assume my only option is the one mentioned above...
Any recommendations for a good, basic, safe gallery app? I've been on Samsungs and LGs in the past to that's my main frame of reference. I only need the ability to see them and maybe group them. No backups or online linkage needed as we backup automatically to our NAS.

p.s. I do like the camera though... seems to be better at auto mode than my LG V20 but of course the manual on the LGs is hard to top.
QuickPic has always been my favorite. I haven't really looked lately though. The one called Gallery by Cloud Innovation Studio looks pretty nice now that I'm actually looking. Check those out or maybe just type in Gallery and see what you find.
i use simple gallery https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.gallery.pro&hl=en_US you can also get it on fdroid for free if you want https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.simplemobiletools.gallery.pro/
quickpic hasn't been good in ages so i wouldn't trust it.
after you install a new gallery app just disable google photos and everything should switch to use the new one
Haven't tried that one, I'll give it a go despite quickpic working just fine.
weird idea: have you considered using the "images" shortcut of the "files" app? i've just saved it to a folder on my desktop and am finding it works fine for anything gphotos is not good for (i.e. looking at misc locally saved pics). (excuse all the black and the errr assortment of pictures i choose to keep on my device)

Problem (for me at least) is that quick switching from the camera to look at the last pic taken still fails if there's no default gallery app.

 I heartily laughed at the "old as time" comment. HA! Whether you meant it that way or not that chuckle was a great start to my Friday.
Cheers!
