[Q] Backup Rom's not backed the /efs folder and more about CSC... - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
On my NOTE 10.1 N8000...
1- Installed a Rom CSC=DBT. After I had on system/csc all files DBT by default and on efs/imei/mps_code.dat DBT also.
Full wipe + Format system
2- Restored a backup Rom CSC=XEO. After I had on system/csc all files XEO by default but on .../mps_code.dat continue DBT.
The Rom XEO is working now whit efs/imei/mps_code.dat=DBT. (The backup Rom not backed efs folder).
My question. What I must make?
3- Replace on .../mps_code.dat the DBT to XEO by manual mode. (On a clean install the Rom update this to it own CSC). Or...
4- Before Restore Rom (or after?), replace the efs folder DBT for a efs folder XEO that I backed when Rom XEO was working.
(On a clean install the Rom update .../mps_code.dat to it own CSC and, may be, configure something more on files and subfolders on efs folder).
I remember, is from efs/imei/mps_cod.dat, that efs partition 3 is updated to actual CSC.
Thanks in advance for some opinions.

EFS folder is not CSC don't start messing with EFS .
EFS is not in the rom CSC is in the rom you flash .
Many roms are multi CSC .

I know. But on each clean install the Rom put your own CSC on efs/imei/mps_code.dat. For what? Yes, for what?
For example ../mps_code.dat whit DBT inside. Read one and compare whit the CSC by default from Rom.
I think You don't understood me.

True .
If a firmware incorporates CSC in the file it is flashed . Many roms are multiple CSC .
If the rom is a DBT rom then it installs DBT CSC even if its a multi CSC . You change it using CSC Changer from the market .
Or edit the custom rom CSC files as i did to give ARHD rom BTU default instead of original CSC .

UK or Multi CSC file needed for P5100

Hello
I'm looking for JUST the UK (BTU) or MULTI CSC kernel file for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 - 10.1 - P5100 ?
Reason being I've installed the French (XEF) version of Jelly Bean 4.1.2 from the Sammobile website as the UK version hasn't come out yet.
Does anyone have a link for any P5100 CSC package files anywhere ?
I've tried to change from the French CSC (XEF) via typing in the keypad 272 plus IMEI - but it doesn't work.
Get the message - "USSD Processing " - " connection problem or invalid MMI code"
It'd be easier if I just flashed the multi / single CSC file in odin on the PC rather than try and change by means already mentioned.
Thanks :good:
Idea ?
What about if I 'extracted' files from the UK stock ROM 4.0.4 (tar.md5) ?
There is the 'cache.img' , 'hidden.img' or the 'boot.img' ?
One of these has to be the CSC file ?
Then just flash in the CSC section in ODIN !
Any ideas if this will work?
Or what If I just extracted the 'system.img' from the French Jelly Bean 4.1.2 ROM (tar.md5) and replaced the same 'system.img' file in the 4.0.4 stock UK ROM ?
Then flashed the whole tar.md5 file in odin to the Galaxy Tab 2 P5100?
Would that work too?

[Q] Replacing CSC on SM-N915S

Hi guys,
I have the Korean version of the Note Edge, SM-N915S installed with the latest stock rom (N915SKSU1ANK5).
The device is rooted (CF-Auto-Root), and flashed with CWM Based Recovery 6.0.5.1 .
I also used Aroma Universal Bloatware Remover v1.3 (thank you UpInTheAir) to remove some bloatware.
Now I wish to replace the original CSC (Korean) with a different one that will support my language (iw-IL) as well as my local cellular carriers.
I did succeed to find an Israeli stock rom for the NOTE 4 (N910FXXU1ANK5_N910FOJK1ANK5_ILO) with the "right" CSC.
I opened both roms with the Android Kitchen v0.224 so that now I have access to the CSC directories on both.
My question is:
can I just replace the CSC directory on the EDGE rom with the one on the NOTE 4 rom or is it involved with more than this?
IMPORTANT (or not) - The roms are dealing with 2 different devices with different processors and firmware!
Thanks,
Matty
I doubt you can't do it. As the file structures are (may be) different.

Thanks vndnguyen.
One major question is if all CSC configuration is done in the CSC folder or is it also involving other folders or files.
Next question is if different processor influences on CSC configuration.
I'm less concerned with different model (Note 4 vs. Note Edge) as it is basically the same device. (or maybe I'm wrong here....?!)

I can't answer your question right now, but you can check yourself by following this instruction:
download the stock firmwares for both Note 4 and Edge, extract the CSC partition (cache.img.ext4 file) using Winrar and then extract this file using ext4 Unpacker tool.
That way you can compare the file structure of both models.
Or you could just flash my SkyHigh ROM ..... Changing CSC will FC the weather widget and no notification from weather widget on edge panel.

[Completed] CSC file, repartitioning, PiT file, non-wipe flashing and relations between these

I have ideas about what PIT files do. They provide data for appropriate phone storage partitioning.
I know repartitioning (an ability in ODIN and z3x) wipes data
I also know the differences between CSC and HOME_CSC is that the first one wipes data and second doesn't.
Now I have some questions:
Is repartitioning different from using a PIT file?
If yes, will I face problems checking repartition checkbox without using a PIT file?
I inspected CSC and found a .pit file inside it. Is that pit file responsible for wiping data (repartition thing)?
How to realize if a 1-file ROM (PDA only) is non-wipe or not?
Well ,
Infact 1 rom tar will not wipe data's , it's only install as updated for ur current firmware but if u had / faced random reboot then for sure u need full wipes ,
Yes once u install rom with pit its will erase everything on ur phone & its will solve too many problems if ur firmware having it .
Good luck ,
Thank you for Using XDA Assist ,,

Change CSC code R775A

Hello everyone,
I am trying to change CSC code at my R775A but with no succed Watches are AT&T US version.
When I tried this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...to-xar-to-enable-samsung-pay-sm-r770.3718236/ after flash the combination FW i was unable to open *#272*719434266344#, nothing happened.I Think that I was on old Tizen (2.3.2.1) which is not supported for this.
Tried the method via sdb tools on Tizen 3 after command "launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration" CSC manager opened, but there was only one option "AT&T".
So tried the hardest way for me with Tizen studio and change the files "csc-active-customer.inf" and "prodcode.dat" to BTU CSC code (want to run samsung pay with curve solution). But after flashed the stock (AP,BL and CSC), the CSC is probable again changed to US (I'm not fully sure if checking this information right - looking at *#1234#). So now I'm stuck at the latest stock ROM and scared to do some tricky changes which could brick the watches.
Thinking about changing the files now via tizen studio on the stock FW, but do not know if it is possible and might be complete brick...?
Other method which is on my mind - flash the combination FW, make changes to BTU CSC code (Tizen studio) and then flash only AP and BL - complete bullsh*t or is it possible?
Or is not workaround to inject BTU CSC option?
Is there any more security with LTE versions of this watches and it is impossible change them to other FW and CSC?
Actual FW of my watches: AP: R775AUCU1DTE1; CP: R775AUCU1AQD2; CSC: R775AATT1DTE1
I Appreciate every advice! and sorry for my english
You can not choose by dreaming CSC...
You can select between script files inside "CSC"... in this case I mean csc.img...
Use Tool 7zip to extract files from csc.img...
Then I hope you better understand...
BTU is NOT inside US ATT Firmware...
Best Regards
Hello adfree,
thank you for clarify this.
I looked at the csc.img and as you said there is only ATT CSC.
There is no chance to add to this csc.img another CSC from another csc.img FW?

How To Guide How to change CSC > A326U

Hello today i will be teaching you how to change your CSC on your A326U you can do this on V1, V2 , V3.
Before we proceed YOU NEED TO BE ROOTED.
Changing your CSC will give better looking icons and give your modem full access to 5G ( no speed throttling ) plus you wont get stock apps pertaining to your carrier. (bloatware)
This will also allow you to record calls with the built in recorder and more...
To change your csc you must take out sim card then using a file explorer head over to /optics/configs/carriers delete everything EXCEPT the SINGLE folder, then go inside SINGLE folder and delete all except XAA
then head over to /efs/imei
Change your mps_code.dat value to XAA Do the same with omcnw_code.dat & salescodeChanged.
delete the .baks Insert Sim and Reboot.
The csc file allows you to bypass throttling from any carrier if so where can I find such a file is it a custom csc file or stock csc file? Or do you just edit the csc without any other csc file?
Strange that there is no salescodeChanged inside imei folder.
Unless you meant prodcode.dat or cid.dat or total_call_time?
Bro my imei is 00000000
Imei cert fail 0 0
No backup of efs no sec portion on bit 8 how can you help me
