I have a strange problem that I can't seem to find an answer for. I have an SGH-I727R rooted with stock ICS ROM. I don't know when this started happening so I'm not sure what triggered it, but the flash on my camera doesn't work.
My LED works because my flashlight app works, and when I go to take a picture in the dark, the camera will turn on the light for auto-focus, but when I go to actually take the picture, the light turns off but doesn't flash for the picture. I've tried 4 camera apps and they all do the exact same thing.
Things I've tried so far:
- I thought it had something to do with settings on my flashlight app (shaking the phone to turn on the flashlight) so I wiped all data and uninstalled it
- turning off the phone and pulling the battery
- used Titanium Backup to reloaded the last backup of the stock camera
Because the light works, it's not hardware. There must be a file missing that triggers the flash mode for the LED or something. Could reloading the stock ROM fix this problem? It's really annoying not being able to take pictures in low light. Again, the light works during auto-focus, but doesn't actually flash for the picture. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm using the Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile, but for some reason whenever I open my Camera application (or any app that uses my camera I.E Yelp/Google Goggles) the camera is blue and green, much like a thermal sensor, and the front view camera's color spectrum is normal. I'm running a beta version of CM7 and its worked properly for as long as I've had it, and now I can't find a way to reset it back to normal. I've tried resetting the camera to default settings, looking at the other apps and seeing if I've accidentally changed any settings that could potentially cause this situation. On a side note, all the color effects on my front-facing camera have never worked, just wondering if that's due to the beta version of CM7, or something else I can fix. Either way, it'd be great to have an answer!
Try backing up your apps, texts, and data (if you want) then doing a full wipe with CMW and reinstall CM7... Also if you aren't using the newest version (B.08 or Cm-tg-reloaded) Then you may want to try those out and see if they work any better.
it randomly fixed after a reboot and then I just upgraded and everything works besides the color effects on the front facing camera

I usually don't take pictures with flash, but today I noticed that the flash doesn't work properly in the camera app. When I try to take a picture, the the flash lights up while the camera is focusing, but when the actual picture is being taken it remains off, resulting into a very dark picture. I am running stock 4.4.4 + elementalx kernel. Has anyone else noticed something similiar and have any idea how to fix this?
Having problems with the camera since lollipop, cant take pictures with flash, flashlight works without issues via quick settings but if you want to take a pic with flash it turns it on but camera app just hangs, camera works without issues with flash disabled.
Any suggestions?

Yeah, I also have problems with the camera. It keep force closing on me. If i turn it off and on it will work. Then like 10 minutes later it will stop working again.

I was curious and taked a look to the flaslight of my phone (as MD, i don't recommend it to anyone to try this, but i did it) and saw that my upper light is not working. I compared the light with dual flashlight on my other phone (Lenovo K900). The second one have both flash working. Then i tried to take picture, it's ok, but i wasn't able to notice working upper light. I reset the camera apk, restarted the phone, the same situation.
By the way i cannot find the system torch apk!
Is it normal? Can i replace the torch apk? Hardware, or software damage, or something else?
What to do? (I don't want to go to the service).

I have bought a new OP7 Pro and I updated immediately to Android 10 beta 2.. no my smartest move apparently.
When I'm trying to focus in the dark with the main camera app just by tapping the flash does not turn on at all.. and if I try to take the picture the flash turns on and stays on like a torch not by flashing for a fraction of the second like a normal camera on any smartphone.
First I thought it is a hardware based problem and I should return the phone / I still have 10 days to do so.
Then I've installed a different camera app called LG camera and surprise! Tap to focus in dark environment turns on the flash and the camera manages to focus also when I tap to take the picture the LED only turns on to .1 seconds and works normal.
Tried a version on Gcam and it doesn't work either..
I tried the following:
- cleared data and forced stop the main camera app
- factory reset
