Hey guys!
My Sensation recently died on me, or should I say it won't boot ANY ROM available here. It just enters bootloop and cuts off on first glimpse of the boot animation (or sometimes after fresh ext4 format it just hangs on the splash screen - white bg with HTC). I have installed 4EXT recovery because I thought it was due to CWM Recovery. I had ViperS installed andd I got occasional random reboots followed by bootloops. After pulling the battery out the ROM booted fine until today. Now I can't boot any ROM, flashing goes OK, I tried restoring my factory ROM, but that just bootloops and cuts off at the beats logo, too.
What to do? Is there any fix?

It's all in my sig, I only have 1.27 now. S-OFF, rooted, unlocked. Flashed many ROMs and they worked fine, even now every ROM installs without any error but they all get stuck in bootloop

i am really blind
ok.i assume you have now 4ext
if yes then:
format all partitons except sdcard
flash the rom
otherwise flash the boot.img of the rom manually
see here how

It happens
I tried both, 4EXT wipe and flashing the boot.img, but that didn't help
Now, this is weird! I thought after countless tries to try again, just before I give up, and try restoring my CWMR backup of the stock factory ROM I had and after one bootloop the phone started booting and now works normally :silly: even after couple of restarts.
Thanks for trying to help, but now I'm afraid to flash anything else on it. Could it be my hardware is not right?

hello, I have a problem with a desire s phone which keeps booting into recovery mode when i turn it on. here's my step by step of what I did that got me into this predicament.
the phone had a stock 1.48 asia rom 0.98.0002 bootloader locked, and unrooted. so first I ran revolutionary had no problems there, had a revolutionary logo on my bootloader afterwards and the bootloader version was now 6.98.0002 or something I forget. anyway the next thing i did was I downloaded the stock euro rom 2.10.401.9 and extracted the rom.zip then renamed it to PG88img.zip copied it to the memcard ran fastboot, then fastboot automatically installed the zip after installation restarted the phone, now the phone was stuck on the white htc screen, so I ran recovery press the power and vol up and did a factory reset, had no luck with it still stuck on htc screen, now after reading a lot of threads, downloaded the ENGpg88img bootloader flashed it using fastboot and it was successful, the revolutionary logo was gone and the bootloader was now 6.98.0000 ( PG880000) but now when I rebooted the phone it would go directly back to recovery!! So the next thing i did was ran the euro rom again from the memcard thru fastboot and it updated the bootloader to the newest version and had a "locked"on top of the screen, so i did a boot unlock using htcdev and now its unlocked, then downloaded the clockwork recovery for saga then flashed it using fastboot with no problems. so now when I turn on the phone it goes straight to clockwork recovery! So last thing I did which also failed was I downloaded a pre rooted stock rom euro 2.10, placed it on memcard installed the zip from clockwork recovery then wiped all the data, dalvik cached and all then rebooted. But it still went back to clockwork recovery now I'm stumped. Really need help on this one.
long story short, I can only use fastboot, and if I use clockwork mod recovery to mount system i can do some adb commands. i also tried putting it in fastboot and ran an official RUu but I always get error 150. any help would be greatly appreciated.
It seems that your chip is gone. I have the same problem (boot looping) and had to try reclamation by phone provider. Find thread with "boot looping", or "white screen". You will find some software for a searching of your chip. Finaly all depends on your mobile vendor
yeah i thought it was the chip, but after 3 days of tinkering with it and reading a lot of threads i finally got everything back to normal. thanks for replying though zdech

Hi, I have the same problem with HTC Desire.
Could you tell how you solved this please?
I don't know if he did what he wrote, but a big mistake was the last step.

he installed ROM and wiped afterwards. Of course it fails at booting ;-)
If you really are in the same situation like him, wiping first and install ROM afterwards should solve the problem ;-)

Have to disagree with you there, what he said was
installed ROM
wiped DATA
wiped CACHE
rebooted
The ROM ZIP would have been flashed into SYSTEM not DATA, so wipe shouldn't have caused a problem
question is did BOOT flash ok?
So I have a weird problem.
I have a Sensation that's been rooted and unlocked to S-OFF. Recovery flashed ok and works but no matter what rom I try, it will boot to the splash screen then show the beginning splash animation (quietlly brilliant) and hang there and make zero progress.
-4Ext touch recovery works fine. I can boot into it and it does everything just fine in regards to clearing cache/data/dalvik etc and flashing roms.
-bootloader reports S-OFF but also says *LOCKED* at the top
-When resetting the phone and also when charging, the LED flash fires.
- Have tried wiping phone, reformatting, clearing data/cache/dalvik etc none do anything
-4ext recovery tools report that the partitions are misaligned?
So, technically it's not bricked but it wont run any ROM I install on it. Does anyone recognize these symptoms? How do I get past this? Thanks for any information.
If you are trying to flash ics roms you need to have the latest firmware installed. Have you done this?
Sent from outer space 3000 years in the future (with my now extremely outdated, but still freaking awesome, HTC Sensation Z710e)

Hi,
It sounds like your are missing the firmware update.
Look HERE
Read it carefully, and follow all the step.
I was running Cyanogenmod9 on my SGH-I727R when I got into a bootloop. I reflashed stock Rogers Rom and still stuck in a boot loop. Any help please?

Can you please be more specific?
What screen are you exactly getting, the boot logo then a reboot? are you getting a recovery screen or do you bootloop not into the system but into ClockworkMod recovery?
The boot boot logo then restart. same thing with the stock rom it would boot into the Rogers logo then restart
Have you tried formatting through recovery? formatting can be found in mounts and storage.
yup, when I get back home I'll see if I can darkside wipe. see if that will help
That should help a lot. It should definitely work, make sure you install a Custom ROM and not a Stock ROM.
Make sure in future situations you don't install a stock ROM if your current ROM is a custom ROM, this can cause problems and will not fix problems. If you want to revert back to Stock ROMs after installing a Custom ROM I highly recommend you use Fastboot to flash the image. However there are tutorials and instructions on how to use Fastboot efficiently and properly so you don't mess anything up.
Cheers
Thanks again, darkside wipe worked. I have no clue what bricked it in the first place though

No problem Wiping everything would've worked too lol!
Hi Guys,
Well my pico is stuck in the weirdest issue. It only and only boots up when i flash miui rom. On every other rom, i get boot loops or just stuck at boot screen.
I've tried cwm, twrp and currently am on Philz recovery. Nothing seems to work.
Have tried flashing the stock rom (goes in boot loop), CM 10 (stuck at boot screen, never-ending circle cyanogenmod), revolution and the sense 4 roms. (all stuck at boot screen)
I have tried with ext3 and ext4 partitions. ALso tried without partitions. Wierdly only and only miui rom boots up. I am trying the latest version of miui and its unusable. Very buggy atleast on my pico.
Now if it boots in miui why does it not boot other roms. I always do a complete wipe before each install.
Also, i know the RUU can be used. I have just one query, if i lock the bootloader with cmd "fastboot oem lock", can i also unlock it in the same manner?
Kindly help stuck on pico since weeks.

Try using superwipe to wipe the partitions and also try downloading any other ROM except those you have tried or latest builds of that as well, maybe that could help.
Talking about RUU, don't install that unless you know what you're doing. "fastboot oem lock" locks your bootloader and if you have rooted your phone(That's obvious ) then you might know that there is a different command for unlocking the bootloader that works on fastboot !! :good:

Hey Vaibhav. Thanks for the reply. I'll download and check other roms. I have used the super wipe before installing all the roms. Will update soon regarding the same. Even tried various SD cards, still same issue mann. Donno what's wrong exactly!

Then it's the burnt NAND issue.
Happens ever time when I try to flash a new ROM. The phone will get stuck at the splash screen and nothing else happens. The default backup I made works fine, but if I try any other ROM, it freezes.
Currently using TWRP 2.6.3.0, rooted, and bootloader is unlocked.
Any suggestions?

Without s off you will need to manually fastboot flash the boot.img of every Rom you flash. Recovery has no access to boot partition without s off.

Not my thread, but it still kinda applies:
What about if I'm flashing a stock RUU and it gets stuck on the splash screen (or boot loop)?
Currently the phone has a relocked bootloader and S-ON.
Can't really access much else.
Ideas?

I would run RUU with a freshly formatted sd card. Make sure RUU flash is completed as well and you aren't trying to downgrade or anything. Other than that your emmc may be toast.
