Hi, to update CM10.1 R0.2 to CM10.1 R4 it's raccomended to download rom, make full wype and install or i have the possibility to update without full wipe...like a easy way similar OTA?
Thanks guys!!!( sorry for my no perfect english)
if you don't want to wipe everything. make a nandroid backup. wipe cache and dalvik then install update. if something goes wrong you can always go back to your backup and then do another clean install

ok....thanks! i was thinking that, if i use ALL2SD to move all apps into SD and then i install new version with full wipe.
I think is the best way to do all quickly, in this way (i think) i will not have to expend much time after install new rom version.
You think it's a good way to operate?

No, they would still have to be reinstalled, use titanium backup to backup your apps, it will reinstall then onto your new Rom easily, only restore user apps though system apps will cause problems

You can make An update zip with All your apps, it's actually easier to make an update zip with just titanium in it and then batch restore your apps and data afterwards

Ok so I have mt TF rooted, CWM with backup done, I have the revolver rom on sd so do I need to do anything special like clear caches or anything and will I lose any of my installed games or apps ? I read that on Android rev hd you have to use super wipe lite and was wondering if you have to do that with revolver.
My tablet is brand new 3.2 HC but I do have some games and stuff I dont want to lose.
Thanks for your help.
I did not clear stuff for the first time, but it is recommended - and yes, if you wipe the system you'll lose your apps, but not what's on the internal memory (/mnt/sdcard)
As davebugyi said, it is not 100% required, but strongly recommended (you could run into issues if you don't do it) if you change roms. By that I mean switch between different roms, not just update your current one. I always do it when changing roms, using the CWM clear/wipe feature is usually sufficient (unless the ROM developer says otherwise in the intall instructions).
If you want to persist apps and app data, you can try one of the backup tools such as Titanium backup. I havent tried it yet with this device though..
Titanium backup
I use titanium backup to backup apps+data then do a complete wipe. Install revelover then restore titanium backup and all your files/games etc are restored.
Thanks Guys
I will do a backup with what you recommended and wipe then install. I just hope this revolver rom is worth it. Seems like everytime you look on the forum someone post a new rom.
best rom
The revolver rom is the best. One of it's features is when you click on the history icon it gives a list of history but they have a little red x in the top corner of each. Clicking the x closes the history for that screen. Keeps yout TF clean and fast. Other roms do not have that facility.
Enjoy
Hello fellow ROM-flashers!
What do you do too keep your setup when flashing, what do you backup? settings, data, accounts and so on.
Is there any good way to backup and keep your settings, and so on... or do you have to redo all that after you flashed a new ROM?
Perhaps its recommended to do it all over again and again? ... I use Pandoriam 5.7 and are happy with it :good:
But then again 6.0 around the corner I sure I want to have the latest update. Dont we all?
I find myself redo my phone settings more then I actual use my phone
Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a way to update it as you do with a stock ROM.. so you didnt had to wipe all when you go from 5.7 to 6.0 for example.
I guessing there are a lot of reasons why this isn't really a valid option... but would be great

..TitaniumBackup....
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=titanium+backup
in free version no batch backup / restore...
backup system+app data
wipe system / data / cache / davlik cache in cwm - flash new rom... installl TB ... restore all.... finish
This should be in the Q and A forum
But yeah, buying titanium backup is the best purchase you'll ever make if you often flash ROMs with full wipes. The batch backup/restore process is brilliant, I have it also saving my backups to dropbox so if anything happens to my phone, I have a copy there too (4G is awesome for this).
I've also found the best launcher is Nova, using Titanium Backup to backup and restore Nova, I don't even have to setup my homescreen again (4 sized widgets, 4 folders, completely customised - you can see it in the homescreen thread in the Q and A forum), even the widgets are there after a full wipe which wasn't possible with other homescreen launchers. The only thing I setup fresh each time is my work exchange account.
By the way, you mostly DON'T have to wipe between ROM versions. I always do because that's how I like to do things (and due to the above I have the process sorted), but most poeple don't..
When updating ROM's - I do a Nandroid + SMS/Call log backup + Titanium backup of all user apps +data.
I the upgrade the ROM over exissting without any data/cache wipe. If I run into FC's after updating the ROM, I either restore my Nandroid or do a clean install of the new ROM and restore apps + settings from my Titanium backup.
I use online nandroid to backup full data. Works a treat and you can use your phone while backing up!
Hi Everybody
I got nexus 4 i am quite new to android.
I usually install new ROMs on my phone just to explore about their features.
Actually when ever i install a new rom i have to do wipe all data or factory reset if i don't do that i start getting weird errors like android.media.process stopped etc so to make sure new ROM works fine i always wipe all data and all apps that i installed are gone.
I am looking for a way to so that i can save all the apps on my phone into one backup file and then when i install new ROMi just recover from that apps backup so i don't have to download them all again.
Does anyone know a best way to do that.
Best Regards
Ranjeet

I agree, works very well.
Hey there,
I want to wipe my phone because of several problems that occur and I believe that they can be solved by resetting my phone with the following procedure:
Wipe my phone with Twrp completely, then flash latest oxygen os, then magisk.
But: is there a way I can reinstall all my apps in the status as they are now?
Should I backup data now and flash this part after the said flashing of Rom and magisk?
Thank you all!
Do the nandroid backup which will bring your phone back to its state after installation. Or backup data and apk files of your apps and then restore it.

Thanks! I will do that!

And remember to backup your photos etc. separately as well (e.g. copy them over to your PC)!
I'm pretty decent with root ROMs etc, but I've always been **** at backing up properly. Any recommendations on apps (old or new) and instructions on how to backup and restore my phone so I don't have to relogin to apps, or reset up apps that don't keep my settings within apps that don't keep them even if they have a log in.
Any help would be appreciated. And no, google backup won't work. Doesn't do what I want

Hi, have you tried Swift Backup?
I always use it when I switch the ROM.
Not only apps and its setting, it can restore SMS, call logs and wallpapers though it can't restore entire system.

Haven't tried it, but will on next Evolution ROM update. Do you just not do a restore when clean installing the rim? Then root and install swift, and restore? That simple?

Yep. Just backup apps before doing clean install procedure.
And install Magisk on the new ROM, then install Swift backup and restore apps so that I can use apps just like before without any 're-configuration'.
