[Q] Help repaire Radio after firmware error - HTC Inspire 4G

Hello, seek advice from your mobile guru.
I bought a HTC INSPIRE 4G with version software 3.20.502.52_US
According to the instructions of one of the forums did downgrade to get s-off and lower insertion of the firmware version by mistake flashed the firmware on the Desire HD and Radio firmware died.
I repaired bootloader with RIF-BOX and flashed his native firmware. Unloked phone and S-Off whith XTC-Clip.
phone turns on but wrote a mistake network search.
If I try to search for networks it says "Error while searching for network"
If I click search automatically it says "Your sim card does not allow connection to this network"
if someone knows how to fix it please tell me !

If you think its a radio error, in the development thread there is a RADIO thread with links. just pick one. I dont know much about your issue.
Or it sounds like you have lets say ATT sim and trying to use it on different network. You could try another sim to see maybe if the sim is bad.

I don't think that is a radio issue. Have you tried a different sim card?

Yes, I have many SIM cards, this is a problem with the phone itself than 100% software, but I was not able to solve it yet.

[Q] “Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network”

Yes, this old chestnut.
I realise that this problem is as old as Android itself, but it actually appears to be a bunch of different problems that manifest with the same symptom. I've tried all of the solutions I can find, and none of them seem to work.
I have an Orange UK branded Desire S that I recently acquired second-hand off eBay. To begin with, everything worked fine, but the phone hadn't been updated in a while so I applied all the OTA updates (3 in total), one after the other. After the first two it was also working fine, but after the third update it stopped connecting to the Orange network.
When I attempt to connect to the Orange network manually, I get “Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network”. When I try the same SIM in another phone, it works fine. I unlocked the phone using a code and tried a Vodafone SIM, but that didn't work either. I've tried removing the battery overnight, no luck. I searched a IMEI database to see if it was blocked, and it isn't. I've tried repeatedly switching airplane mode on/off, which doesn't help. I've tried a hard reset, through the phone menu and also via the boot menu, without success.
When I type *#*#4636#*#* to enter the service menu, I can see that the phone is receiving a signal, so the antenna's working OK.
Now here comes the odd part. When I try to change the wireless band to 'WCDMA Only', it refuses to change and stays put on 'WCDMA/GSM' mode. It doesn't matter if I use the service menu or go through the 'Mobile Networks' settings, it still refuses to change.
I'm open to the concept of flashing a custom ROM, but I don't want to invalidate any warranty I may have unless that's the only option. I'd like to try flashing an RUU, but I can't find a suitable one. The only Orange ROM in this post appears to be French language:

Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I'm having the exact same issue with a HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) on stock ICS.
I bought this second hand phone and bring it back to Venezuela. The phone worked swell with local carriers but suddenly lost signal and got the infamous “Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network” message.
I've tried every solution posted on the net with no results, leaving rooting as the last resort.
So, before I begin rooting my phone I just wanted to ask if you found any solution to this. :fingers-crossed:
Any help would be much appreciated! :good:
So,
I've rooted my phone. used HTCdev, juopunutbear, clockworkmod, installed Superuser and got super CID. Also, I called my carrier and checked that my IMEI was not blacklisted (just to be sure).
Messing around with the hboot I found something that I'm not quite sure what it means, in the SIMLOCK menu I found this message:
FAT32 init OK
Open MCCMNC file fail
Open CID file fail
Process done, reboot device?
<vol up> Yes
I've changed the CID to the original stock and got the same message. I don't know what it means and if it is related to my problem. I'm still using the stock rom (OTA ICS 4.0.3 T-MOBILE) planning to install OrDroid 9.0.0.
I really need some guidance over here. :crying:

Sorry to hear that. I'm still stuck with it.
I've flashed Ordroid 9.0 and the same error appears everytime I try to get signal from any carrier.
Someone told me that I should try flashing the radios or change my IMEI but I really don't know how to do it and I'm afraid I could permanently damage my phone.
Still waiting for fresh ideas to try.
Good news! (at least for me)
After I've tried almost all to solve the issue I took the phone to my carrier to get my sim card changed. they told me that someone has reported my phone as stolen in my previous carrier. So I went to the other carrier with my proof of purchase and they unblocked my phone IMEI right away.
If by any Chance you're having this same issue make your phone checked by your carrier for any kind of locks before messing with your phone.
Hope my experience will help any of you.

No signals on HTC TP2 after factory reset

Hello Guys,
I have a HTC touch pro-2 from verizone with mighty ROM. It was sim unlocked and working fine on GSM (in India ) since last 1.5 year. I realized it has become very slow and I did a factory reset.
It wiped off all the data as expected but now when i insert my sim it dont show any signals I tried with diffrent SIM cards of diffrent providers but it keeps on serching for signals. I checked and found it is still SIM unlocked but still keep on serching for network.
Following are the deatails of my phone:
Radio version :1.96.00wf
OS Ver : 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manila ver : 2.5.20132227.0
ROM ver: Mighty ROM
ROM date : 06/20/2010
CPU QComm(R) 7600
Please let me know if any other info is required.
Before writing in here, I tried every possible way to find my answer in existing threads but could not.
waiting for some positive replies.
Thanks..

+1, someone just had the exact same issue, and he found that the radio had reverted to the WV instead of WU. Make sure you're still on an unlocked radio...

Dear arrrghhh,
I am so thankful that you replied. I googled and checked a lot of pages on internet. It seems that my phone is security unlocked as it displays "SIM Unlocked" but the radio in my phone (1.96.00wf) is either works in US or a locked version of radio.
As my phone is already unlocked so I believe that I dont need to buy an unlock code again. I just need to upgrade the radio.
Is my understanding correct?

Your phone should stay sim unlocked once it is unlocked. Try replacing the radio, and let us know.
Also you might have better luck searching here than on google for something this specific.

You would have better luck asking in the sim unlocking threads. I am sure it is all probably covered there in the first post.

Is this a radio problem?

Hi guys, So i have a GB HTC Sensation and have moved to the US I brought a AT&T Sim and assumed i could just use it since my phone is fulled S-OFF and Perm Rooted. It keeps asking me for my Sim unlock code so i found it and it says sim unlocked sucessfull But it does not find any signal what so ever and when i turn my phone on and off again i have to keep typing the sim unlock code in. when i go to Settings-wireless&networks-Mobile networks-Network operators It says error while seaching for networks. Im not sure why...
So when i went from sence to ICS I remember i had to flash a new radio and when i did as i was on Orange in england i selected the Orange one. So im assuming that the phone is locked to the Orange network with that radio (I dont know much about radios soo please tell me if im wrong)
So will i have to flash an AT&T radio to my phone? if so can someone point me to a thread on how and where to do so as i can not remember
Thanks alot guys!

i really don't know but you can use getril app from playstore
it will tell you the best combination of radio/ril
Just an idea.
Go to your dialer, put in *#*#4636#*#*
Then do Phone Information
Once in there hit the menu button and select Radio Band
And then select USA Band
See if that does anything for you.
Use any guie forum brow

Try this http://iphone-unlock.blogspot.com/2012/08/how-to-unlock-htc-sensation-4g.html and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693491
But generically try to wipe cache and dalvik cache and/or wipe data and/or try to flash another ROM and another Radio.
If not, may be hardware problem. Verify that the case is fully adjusted to phone, and try also to clean contacts.

[Q] No network registration after fw 3.33 and Cyangenmod 9.1

Hi
I have an HTC Sensation that I have unlocked and S-OFF'ed. I then installed the 3.33 universal firmware and Cyanogenmod 9.1 (stable) and no longer get any connection to the mobile network.
I have tried several SIM cards and they all give the same result however they are all for the same network (o2 UK) and the phone was originally on T-Mobile so I suspect it may still be somehow locked to T-Mobile.
If I go into Mobile networks -> Network operators, no networks show up and the message "Error searching for networks" quickly flashes up. I also get the same error if I pick Search networks or Search automatically.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Firmware: 3.33
HBOOT: 1.27.1100

Did you try with flashing another ROM ?
I have tried reflashing the 3.33 firmware and also flashing the 3.32, 3.12 and 1.17 firmwares with factory resets inbetween and reinstalling CM.
I've tried CM9 and 10.1 all with the same result.
I investigated the SIM card a bit closer and noticed that even with a card with no SIM lock set it still asked for a PIN and it didn't matter what number you put in it unlocked. Also when there is no card in at all it shows as No Service instead of No SIM.
I have managed to change the cid to the supercid as well, so I'm pretty stumped!
Any further help would be very much appreciated.

Maybe your problem is the same as mine? Check if your IMEI is blocked.

Sim unlock with Hboot 1.29

Hello guys,
I think my sensation xe is simlocked to T-Mobile. I have bought it off ebay and had returned it to the seller for repairing the camera. The seller has apparently fixed the issue but when i insert my sim card it does not connect to network and gives error 'your sim card does not allow connection to this network'. I have tried the settings inside phone information(*#*#4636#*#*) and also the sim unlock guide method 1 and 2. But it still does not connect. I think that the sim unlock method failed due to Hboot v 1.29. My device info is as follows
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
Hboot-1.29.0000
RADIO-11.24A.3504.31_M
OpenADSP-v05.6.0.2226.00.0418
eMMC-boot
Is there any was to unlock this phone? Any help would be awesome...
Thanks!

Does your phone ask for pin? Usually phones with sim lock don't do that and you'll get the warning that the sim card can't be used.
Maybe try to manually select the network in settings.
No good...

Nope...no pin request...
I even tried this guys thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597778&page=2... My mobile also shows TMOB010 below the IMEI during the unlock method...but even after downgrading the firmware and erasing S58 data...upgrading to 3.33 and flashing a new rom, the phone still does not connect... and by the way, TMOB010 is still there...

Then I'm sorry, I have no clue...
One guy had the same problem and as far as I know he fixed it with hboot downgrade, PB file again, then hboot upgrade and stock ARHD (not TMOB).
Search a bit, it wasn't long time ago.

Try with the links I gave you, especially the second one cause that's the guy that had the same issue and solved it.
Also i had another thought... what if there is something else wrong with the phone? What if its not locked but has some other problem? This is because i have tried almost every method i could find out there. So can anybody tell me how to check if your phone is really simlocked??
