[HOW TO] Port MIUI gingerbread rom to any device

Here is a guide to port MIUI gingerbread roms to any device.
Requirements
CM 7 rom for your device
MIUI rom of any other device having similar resolution as your device
First extract your CM 7 and the other device MIUI rom in different folders.
Open the system folder in the CM 7 rom and delete the app,media and framework folder
Now open the system folder in the extracted MIUI rom and copy the app,media and framework folder and paste them in the system folder in the extracted CM 7 rom.
Now make a zip by selecting the contents of the CM7 rom.don't select the folder.
Now reboot into recovery
Wipe all
Disable signature verification
Install rom and enjoy the beauty of MIUI
This rom will have the bugs present in your CM 7 rom

U can port a gingerbread rom only if u have cm7.if u have cm9 for ur phone then u can port miui ics.but ics porting guide is different

I have rom2.3.4 for my phone and I have 2.3.7 for a similar device.
Can I port 2.3.4 rom to 2.3.7 and make it bootable?

No.u can only use cyanogenmod and the android versions of both cm and miui should be same

Oh.. coz i tried this method on galaxy r.. using galaxy s2 miui.. it got stuck at the samsung logo while booting.. can u help me.. why is dis happening?

I used galaxy r cm7 nightly by epsylon.. and i used galaxy s2 from miui site.. stuck at samsung logo

Try another phone's rom having the same res.ported miui rom when used as miui base gives better results than official miui roms

That's strange it worked for me i tried many times and many different roms and different phone.Check of the processor of the two phones are same or not

And i have Xperia pro, ported Miui from VERY smilair devices [Arc, neo] but stuck at boot logo. i also think its not as easy as your tutorial, but you say it works by you? Plz add some details! Thanks~~!

I don't think you can port miui rom just like this... You will need to exchange few libs and more stuff to make it work... I saw a guide somewhere try searching for it i will post link when i find it...
Edit: you will need to change few lines in build.prop and one lib something like lib.something.runtime.... Thats all i remember... Will post link soon...

OP has written this is not development rom, just a copy of Unoff CyanogenMod10 for Pico | BETA#2 adding a few apps. Also there is no download link. So I consider this rom is correctly posted in general section: roms with cosmetic changes and/or only apk addition should not be considered development and should go to general section. Does gesture typing work on the keyboard? All 4.2 keyboards that I have tried either ignores gestures or FC's when trying to gesture type

can the calender, browser and calculator not working problems can be solved by re-installing the apks from the /system folder using a root explorer?? just to eliminate possible solutions..

Build 3 will have a keyboard with gesture typing

Using liverpool and sakindia jb rom, same Result.

Which rom are you using and are you getting the issue for all apps or for particularly some apps?
It may be because some apps are specifically designed for an android version, and may not get support on the new version. Or maybe your device hardware doesnt provide support for the apps.

For eg agent dash

I was able to install and play it on CM10 Alpha 2.
Did you try sideloading the incompatible apps?
Can you try installing a widely supported app, like ES File Explorer?

I get such msg regarding some apps like chrome , instagram ,etc

Actually the play store checks the build.prop of your phone against its list of compatible devices.. If its not there, then it will show incompatible with your phone.. If you change your build.prop to show another device, while instaling an app, it'll work.. Or you can search XDA.. Somebody has modded the play store and removed device restrictions.. So you can install all apps without any problems..

There are some patchers ( won't name them ) which can patch country restrictions too on play store. Google them if you want.

[Q] Kernel for CM10

guyx can you tell me the kernel in which i can play games like Deadtrigger , PES , n etc .. Cause in Default and Pandora V1 it gives FC
a guy told me that Play dead trigger: try any ICS Roms. Theres a multi touch bug in jb kernels which developers have forgot to include. .... ?
so if u can tell me ... ill be thankful to u . ?

That guy is me and better download cm10.1 and use Jarvis v2 kernel. There's a small bug(Wi-Fi) but a restart solves it. If u have a class 4 card and above try that. If u don't have one better stick to cm9 build 14 and use Pandora v3 kernel.

SD(FAT32)
SD-DATA(EXT4)
SD-CACHE(EXT4)
& THEY all are primary
