The +300MB is a entire rom. You can flash it. You should use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812635 For me it worked, I've downloaded the latetst european version at Acer, changed the scipt flashed without problems. I was able to receive OTA updates, only bootloader stays unlocked. When root is active OTA is disabled.
Use notepad++ for editing the script
Thank, it works

Do you have stock recovery or cwm recovery?
Here's a good thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494230
I just get my Acer Iconia A700 with android JB 4.1.1 installed.
I want to root it, but all I have found is for ICS 4.0.3.
I also want to keep the original rom.
Is it possible, just rooting, not flashing?
thanks in advance

There are a couple methods you can use, and still maintain the stock image.
Look at this thread;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953917
2 methods you can use.
a. The CWM method. This replaces your Stock recovery with a custom recovery you can flash zip files from.
b. Alternative method (keeps your stock recovery) This offers the least intrusive method of getting root.
CWM has been known to cause issues in the early days, but it seems the more recent versions have settled down. I still wouldn't advise making and restoring backups though. Just from my own experience.
The unsecure Boot.img (kernel) should be the method I would advise. This allows booting via "fastboot" (like when you unlocked your bootloader) and then "fastboot flash boot xxxxxxboot.img) Then you need only to get Superuser and busybox. Note that in some cases, you will need to use ADB to "push" the SU binary. You can can find the commands in my 701 unsecured boot.img thread here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934056 Just don't use "my" boot.image as it's for the 701. Use the one in Vorbeth's thread.

Download the original firmware and put your phone into recovery, then use odin to install the original firmware back into your phone. There are videos of how to install the original firmware using odin. Good luck, hope it helps...
My TF300T still has the old stock firmware from October 2012 (4.1).
It is unlocked and has TWRP from february 2013.
Now I will be jumping to a current custom firmware (Crombi-kk 4.4).
If I understand correctly, I have to flash the latest STOCK firmware (V10.6.1.27.5 android 4.2) and install the new CWM/TWRP before I can flash a custom firmware.
My main worry is flashing the newest stock rom on my already TWRP/rooted/unlocked TF300T. Will that cause a problem or will the stock firmware wipe everything clean (except for the unlock)?
Also, the unlock utility on Asus's website is made for 4.2 only. When I unlocked my TF300T, it was 4.1. What will happen when I flash the stock 4.2? Will my 4.1 unlock cause problems or will it be wiped, or will it still be effective?

Thanks for your offer. I actually got the green light on the CM 4.4.x Q&A thread.
I read that flashing the CWM for 4.1 would brick your tablet if you had 4.2 installed, so I was worried that flashing 4.2 on top of an existing 4.1 CWM would brick it as well. It turns out it simply removes the CWM entirely. Good times.
Basically what I ended up doing was:
1 - Transfer the latest official TF300T firmware (zip file) onto an SD card.
2 - Start my TF300T with my old (4.1) CWM recovery and select to flash my android with the zip file on the SD card.
3 - The TF300T bootloader stayed unlocked, but the old CWM was gone.
4 - Using ADB: Upload & flash the new CWM Philz Touch
5 - Install/flash the desired custom rom (from within CWM using SD card)
6 - Restore to factory default (from within CWM)
Now I even installed Grimlock's kernel to allow overclocking.
My TF300T has a new life. It is now very much acceptable in terms of speed.
Hello.
i have problems rolling back to stock ROM.
currently i have Pacman rom 4.4.4, i tried to go back to official asus rom, downloaded from asus web site.
i read that i need to have 4.2 bootloader, so i noticed that in my TAB i have TWRP 2.8, i flashed to TWRP 2.5, and after that tried to
flash couple of roms, include the official rom, unfortunately, without success. after each flash, i got the asus logo, and that's all.
when i try and get into bootloader, i get the android with a ! mark and i need to re flash boot loader.
after couple hours i flash back to TWRP 2.8 and restore pacman rom.
what i need to to do to go back to official asus latest rom?

You can do this with the zip you got from asus as long as the SKU matches what is on your tablet ....
So do this unzip the zip you downloaded .. There will be another zip, unzip it as well ...
Inside that zip there will be a blob file.... This blob file can be flashed using fastboot ...
This blob will return you to stock.... Let me know if you need anymore help ...
Thx Josh
