Hello,
I am having some trouble with my T-mobile Sensation 4G. I was trying to install a Rom and seemed to have failed. At this point it will not boot past the first white screen with the green HTC logo.
I can get it into fastboot and Clorkwork mod recovery. However, I am not really sure what to do.
I have tried superwipe and it fails. Bootloader screen is as follows:

If I need to provide more information just let me know. Any help to get it back up and running would be great. I really appreciate your time and help.
Thank you in advance.
Most likely the rom will not boot on your current firmware. What rom is installed?
Option 1 is to restore a backup since you can access recovery.
Option 2 is to put the correct firmware on your SD using a PC, reinsert and let your phone update.

I don't think any rom is installed. It never got that far.
I first tried to update using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542192
However the update failed. After that the phone was just going into a reboot loop when I tried to start it up. I then tried to flash a new rom in the hopes it would fix whatever problem the first failure caused. I was following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
I was able to update the firmware from the linked page on that guide:
Firmware from 3.32.401.x & 3.32.401.10x RUU
I then tried to flash the Android Revolution HD 6.5.2 rom. It failed and when i tried to reboot it just hangs as described above. I tried to use superwipe and it also fails. I am sure at this point it is obvious I am lost.
Option 1 is not an option as I don't have a backup.
Option 2 may be an option, but I apparently don't know what the correct firmware is.....
Thanks again for the help.
I went back into fastboot and then recovery and tried to use superwipe, but that failed.
Option 1 is a no go because I do not have a backup.
Use this firmware instead.. it's worked well for me no matter which ICS rom I've installed..
Firmware from 3.24.401.1 & 3.25.401.101 RUU from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1412618
Don't get it confused with the one you've already tried. Then after you flash that version of the firmware, remove it from sdcard and flash a rom. It's worked for me as it should for you as well.. Hope this helped.. I'm also assuming that you've Super CID your device....
if this helped, slap the thanks button... thanks

So still on stock rom, ie Gingerbread, since 2x flashes have failed?
If so, 3.12 is the correct firmware to get it to boot.

I was not able to boot normally after installing this firmware, but it did allow me to complete the superwipe. That was failing beforehand. Once I was able to wipe the phone I was then able to install a rom. The phone is back up and running now. Thanks again for the help. I appreciate you guys taking the time.

Hi All.
I'm having a problem with what appears to be Recovery mode in Revolutionary.
The Desire S has been rooted and S-Off. I then flashed Android Revolution 7(Mike1986).
As I'm about to sell the phone, wanted to do a factory reset, but this restarts the phone and gets stuck on the HTC logo. So I figured I'd manually flash a new ROM instead. So I go into bootloader, but when I get to the menu and select Recovery, again, it gets stuck at an HTC logo.

You need to flash an eng-hboot first before you can flash an RUU to go back to stock.
All details in my signature and the index thread.
Read the forum and index thread before doing anything
Oh, OK - I'm not that bothered about putting it back to stock firmware. I just wondered why Revolutionary doesn't seem to be working.
Presumably I just need to put PG88IMG.zip into the root of the SD card?

By the way did you install any recovery like cwm or 4ext?
Sent by my fingers to your head.
Um.....I'm fairly sure it was CWM, but don't hold me to that. Whatever it was, it allowed me to install Android Revolution 7.
I can't update HBOOT - Revolutionary keeps bypassing it?????

Android Revolution 7??? On the Desire S...? Where'd you get that from? It's not officially supported by the ARHD team!!
Now I'm absolutely confused where the hell I got that from!!!
I think the best course of action is to get the phone back into shape - so I need to flash the HBOOT back and presumably the recovery back if possible. Revolutionary is preventing me from flashing a new Hboot. Any ideas?
EDIT : Right. Using ADB, I've managed to re-flash CWM and now it works. But can someone advise on getting HBoot to flash?
Loll fire the dd command to flash hboot.
It is fine from adb.

So I was being stupid and didn't read all the instructions while I was trying to flash a PG58IMG for ICS and I think I installed the wrong version for me. Now I'm stuck in a bootloop but I CAN access the recovery and hboot. I don't know what to do now.

Do you have a ics Rom flashed to match the ics firmware? If you still have gb this will put you into bootloop . Flash the ics firmware which is 3.32 or 3.33 then flash the ics Rom. You must remove the pg58img file after you flash Also or it will continue to try to upgrade the file over and over . I hope this helps you.

I'll try flashing 3.33 or 3.32 then flashing the ROM, thanks.
Right now it's stuck at the boot "htc" logo, It's been like this for about 4 mins, is this normal on updating the firmware?
EDIT: It has been about 15 mins now and I recided to go into hboot and the message thing at the top was changed. Now it reads:
*** LOCKED ***

eMMC-boot
and at the end after the "sd checking", it says "Battery voltage is too low! Please change a battery..."
Not sure if has anything to do with my problem, but its worth putting out there.
No this is not normal. Charge your device, update firmware 3.32 or 3.33, now you WILL have a bootloopv if your on a gb Rom, so update to a ics Rom. This should solve the bootloop. When updating with a pg58img file you place it on the root of your sd card, pull battery put battery back in then press power and volume at the same time then press power to accept update it will automatically update .remove the pg58img file at this point or it will continue to try to update. I really hope this helps. Sometimes it takes up to 5 or so minutes for the first boot of a Rom but after that I would say it's too long if you're still waiting. Have you done all these steps? With the correct firmware?are you wiping before your flash? It should work smoothly with these steps? Once your charged go over steps again make sure your not missing a step. Hope this helps

keep in mind one thing... you must use matching firmware/rom.. i mean for example
- Firmware 3.33 Universal / (ICS)
- Firmware 1.17 Universal / (GB)
so if you're on ICS you must be on 3.33 fw, that should do the trick

Afterwards, the phone got stuck on the boot logo, but I can access bootloader and recovery mode via CWM. I can't install PG58IMG even that i have tried several versions, including 3.24, 3.30, 3.32 & 3.33.
When detecting PG58IMG I get this:

Hi,
I just bought a second hand Sensation XE that is already rooted (checked with root checker), hboot says s-off (but bootloader is LOCKED), even the XDA market was on it (although in Chinese). I want to install the Revolution Rom, but the problem is that i've only ever done this once with my old Desire HD and at that time i started from a brand new unrooted phone, step by step until it was rooted,s-off,clockwork and rom installed etc. etc. Now that i don't need to start from the beginning, i don't actually have a clue where to start. I don't even remember how to check if clockwork mod is on it. Here's what i have in System info:
android version 2.3.5
HTC sense version 3.5
Software number xda_smallleizi_cn
When i look in the FAQs, i just get confused about where i'm up to. And with the risk of bricking, i'm not so willing to jump in anywhere.
Can someone give me some advice on where i should start?
If you're into going through the whole process from A to Z, you can use an RUU matching your device. It will turn the phone into stock and you could follow all the steps in the ARHD thread.
But.. since it seems the phone is rooted, i would continue from there. Install 4ext recovery, 3.33 kohr-ah firmware than flash ARHD 6.7.2.
See my signature for the links.

I would once your confident with flashing roms , try out several different roms and see which one suites your needs most . This is the fun part. Don't just limit yourself to one ROM . There are so many wonderful choices I highly suggest you try several before you make your choice on your daily Rom . Experiment a bit, you won't be sorry. Happy flashing ! Best wishes!

The key thing is S-OFF, try to make sure you keep this. That is the most important thing.
Have you got a custom recovery ? (CWM or 4EXT). If not get one I use CWM but old hat as most folks use 4EXT now. Then get used to the nandroid backups that they do. essentially a full backup/restore apart from firmware.
As someone else said try the various ROMs.
All the custom ROMs will have Superuser (root) enabled. The only decision is AOSP or Sense based.
Have fun, it'll cost bandwidth downloading the ROMs so do it where you have free LAN/WiFi

Bootloops occur when the firmware and the rom/kernel do not match.
From the edit, it looks like you have successfully flashed the 3.33 firmware. All that is left now is to flash a matching rom.
You could start with Android revolution HD, please find the link in my signature.
You might just have to flash it twice, if you do not have 4ext recovery installed (first flash will make sure 4ext is set, the other will utilize 4ext for a successful rom flashing).
Before flashing the rom, it is recommended to also perform a 'superwipe' which erases any leftovers from previous rom. Those might cause compatibility issues. The flashable superwipe zip can be found on the first post of ARHD.
One last thing, before any flash, make sure the zip was.downloaded.correctly. this can be achieved by comparing the MD5 signatures on the site, and one that you can compute on your device prior to flashing.
Happy flashing

Hey guys. I am having the same issue here after moving from one Elegancia Rom to a newer Elegancia Rom. I have tried different Radios, Kernels, ROMs and nothing seems to work. I have re-formatted my SD card and re-partitioned it and nothing. The only ROM that allows Bluetooth to work is the MIUI Rom. I've tried several Sense and Stock Roms and nothing works.
Wifi sometimes works after a reset. Wifi Hotspot sometimes gets stuck and I have to reset. Bluetooth just plain doesn't work. I have tried everything but using a different SD card. I am gonna buy a new SD card tomorrow and see what happens. I can't figure out what the problem is. MIUI is not my cup of tea.
Update - I just installed the latest build of CM 10 and my Bluetooth wroked but Wifi would not turn on. This is interesting.
