Well from the looks of it, this is the case that a lot of people have been waiting for. Judging from the pictures, it appears to be made of TPU for the front lip and bezel area, but what makes this case special is the back of the case is hard transparent plastic. The perfect way to show off the awesome backside of the N4 without sacrificing protection! To me it literally looks like my Diztronic TPU case with a plastic back side. The case is listed as "coming soon" , and here is the link:
https://www.rearthusa.com/google-nexus-4-hybrid-fusion-case
IMO this may be the case to rule all cases....

I own that exact case. I really really like it and my only complaint as with most white cases its starting to get a Lil yellow tint on the corners of it all the way around. But I work in a refinery so its mostly my fault.

The case looks PIMP. Thanks OP !!
this is the perfect case!
Waited for this sort of case for a long time and will definitely get it. But the one thing I suspect is, like current crystal clear hard plastic cases, the back will likely stick to any sort of rear protector and cause the sticky wet look.
I like this one. Not a fan of the clear back material but it will probably feel better in hand. Thanks op

Even hard plastic can stick to rear protectors if it's of the glossy, "crystal clear" variant that is extremely easy to scratch, which is what I'm assuming this one will end up having. I know because I had a crystal clear case before on my Nexus 4, and the reason I got rid of it was because it stuck to my rear Spigen protector (it was also just cheaply made and had tons of stress cracks upon arrival).
If it had a matte frosted clear back, then it wouldn't stick. But it'd also block the glittering effect, making it no different than the other generic TPU/clear back hybrid cases already on Ebay.
Ive emailed them about an estimated eta and what materials its made out of.

I think I'm going bumper and full body screen protectors to see how that works. I usually have my phones naked, but this seems like it would scratch too easy without the fully body screen protectors.
I ordered full body protection. Thinking I might wait for speck or incipio to launch a case or else get a bumper

I do as well but im not sure if its going to give me enough protection because your only sure to be safe if you drop it on a totally flat surface.
Here in Australia we can order the bumper but $19.99 + $10 shipping.
So essentially a 50% tax. And you can only order 1 so no split shipping

Yeah for me the fact that they are even cutting out holes for the buttons makes me not want to buy these TPU's. The buttons on the N4 are this shiny chrome-like plastic, and as they are surely scratch/scuff magnets, I'm not about to rock a case that does not protect them.

I hate the chrome in general, with no case and taking extreme care of your phone the chrome around the phone will scratch. Why couldn't they make it all the soft touch hard rubber material? :banghead:

I have NO idea! I thought the exact same thing the moment I saw the phone for the first time (and especially the moment I held it for the first time). I mean such a great job was done with the Nexus 10 as well (granted that was Samsung) - nice styling but with durability and grip in mind. But for some reason, apparently LG insisted on adding that "pop" of flashy chrome to the edge of the phone, and did so using the scratch-friendly chrome ring...and as if that wasn't bad enough, they simply couldn't have added such a scratch-prone component to a more scratch-prone area of the device. Incredible :silly:
Hey guys,
I got the chance to review this case and made the video as usual. It is very thin, very light, however I am not comfortable leaving the top and bottom exposed.
Here it is! If you have any questions please just let me know
http://youtu.be/KIRwjBtI7L4
Just slapped mine on, like the raised corners for face down safety but agree the front of the top and bottom are pretty exposed. Nice fit and what I was looking for though. Nice review
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
whiel i like how slim it is. on mine, even with it face down, it'll wobble and it seems the screen is still touching because it slides soo easily like it does without the case.
the case without the phone doesn't wobble and it doesn't slide easily. maybe i have crooked one? doesn't feel like it though since there's no squeaking with the case on.
Just got mine and I'm liking it a lot, all we need is a case exactly like this one but covers the top and bottom as well, but yea this one is very nice
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Odd I put mine face down in the dark and can see light all the way around except the corners. I am fairly positive it's not touching screen. The second case I got isn't as good of a fit though it is loose on the volume rocker side.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I've had mine for a week or so.
Pros:
Thin
Light
Cons:
Moves around too much directly over the volume controls. Not enough material there to be stiff enough so it tends to flex in that area.
There's an annoying ridge around the edge closest to the screen. Sort of like a line for the mold used to form the plastic. This makes it feel cheap.
I've got the "Ringke Fusion" case on order and hoping I like that better. If so, this one may be going back.
-Brett.
I was just wondering...to address the 'top and bottom bezel uncovered' issue, could we not apply one of those full body shield protectors, i.e those that protect the sides? Or would the case not fit with that on?

Got this case a couple days ago in white. So far so good. Thin and low profile. Dropped the phone yesterday, hit the corner and not a scratch or crack on the phone.
To those who have this case on, is it a snug fit or kind of lose? I'm asking because I just received the Spigen SGP Slim and it has a lose fit. Like you could shake it softly and feel the phone sliding around..kind of disappointed and if the Ringke Slim is snug, then I'm considering ordering that.

I got my navy blue Ringke Slim (version 2) this morning and although the fit is superb and getting it back off if a challenge i am a little cheesed off that "soft touch" doesn't equate to grip like it would on a Case Mate Barely There.
Great case but i am tempted to put my 95p S Line jobbie back on.
Cheapo case back on and the Ringke Slim sold on, it needs to be more grippy.

RE: Aluminium Bumper
I just received mine after ordering it last week and it fits pretty well. Looks a few nano-meters off at some places and build quality i'd put at 8.5/10 but for a bumper under $15 i'd say go for it.
Also i got the silver brushed aluminium one and based on the design quality, id say the blue one would get scuffed pretty easily.
Hope this helped...if it did you know where the thanks button is :cyclops:

I ordered and received three different ones from Amazon:
rooCASE
Photive Hybrid
Poetic
All three of these are EXACTLY the same. No difference at all. So, if you want one of these, order the cheapest one.
I also ordered a couple others, which have not yet been received:
Case Square
KaysCase
I hope that these other two will be softer. The top ones are harder plastic.
UPDATE - These two are a little softer, but both have a cutout on one of the corners for a strap, which makes damage more likely if you drop it. I've stuck with the first models above, and been happy. One thing I especially like is that these bumpers aren't slick, so they very slightly stick in your pocket, making it so that they won't fall out unless you pull them out - nice.
With my S2 I used to have the Neo Hybrid EX bumper, and that was the perfect bumper - silicone inside, harder plastic outside. Spigen didn't make this for the S3, so we probably won't see it for the S4 either, unfortunately.
i ordered the grey Aluminum one last night. ill be lucky to get it in like 3 weeks. haha

I have the tech21 D3O flip cover case. The inner lining is soft and good for the case in case of drops and the leather flap has a soft surface to protect the screen. There's plastic tabs all around the side of the case to protect the phone except on the buttons. Cut-outs are where they need to be and the back case is raised to keep the camera from scratching and muffling the speaker.
Just be careful with the case you get. I got my case from t-mobile. I got my first one and I noticed that the top left corner did not sit right on the phone. In due time it began to crack and give way. After turning the case in and replacing it for a second one, it now fits perfect and there are no cracks.

Well it's pliable when holding it, but rigid once on the phone. Think of it as a gel case: it's thick, yet thin (mind blowing, trust me); and it has great grip (almost like rubber).

I'd personally get the dark blue case. I'm not a big fan of the brown mesh with orange lol. The dark blue seems to make the case completely black with blue/purple accents. I'll probably be ordering it one day soon lol.

A case is a case. Any case at all will provide some amount of protection but there's no perfect solution. It does feel amazing on the phone when holding holding it. And it looks good. I like it a lot so far.

I just picked up this case today. I have a white s4 so I got the clear maze pattern with the orange bumper. Absolutely looks sick, I'll post pics tomorrow. The case adds hardly any thickness. However the 3do bumper is a bit thicker. However from what I've seen and read its well worth an extra mom or so.
There is a small lip to protect the face when placed on a table. Fits very tight and pretty confident it won't fall off in the case of a drop. I like the way the case feels in hand. The tpu gives it a great grip. The poetic atmosphere and slim armor i have are quite slippery when you hold the phone and place it down.
I'll upload pics asap.
