This rom is in a VERY EARLY development stage, please understand this before you decide to flash it. It functions fairly decently but is nowhere near daily driver status...
I'm posting it because I need testers and need to get a full list of bugs to squash. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what MIUI is by this point so I'm not going to post a bunch of yadda yadda here right now until I move the rom further along... I will NOT be working on this daily, but I will continue to work on this.
Known bugs so far:
Tethering (use one of the various tether apps floating around xda/play store)
4G(of course)
Notes:
MIUI now requires you to have a Xiaomi Account to download & apply themes.
To get root access you must open the 'LBE Guard'(miui's superuser app) -> click 'manage Root permissions' -> click the toggle to enable
There are 2 gallery apps,
--one is MIUI's gallery and the second is the default JB gallery
--Miui's camera doesn't fully function so I removed it, and the JB camera is contained within the JB gallery app.
Installation:
1. Download BOTH the rom zip file as well as the Gapps zip and place them on your sdcard
2. Go into recovery and Wipe, wipe, wipe and uh wipe everything.. and maybe one more for fun?
3. Install the Rom zip from recovery
4. Reboot and let the phone settle for a long while.... if it doesn't fully boot go back into recovery and wipe dalvik-cache then reboot again(should boot fully after)
5. After the phone has settled and you go through MIUI's setup screens, reboot to recovery.
6. Flash the MIUI gapps zip from recovery, this must be done AFTER you booted into miui atleast once
7. Reboot and let it settle for a while again

NICE!
Flashing right now, i can be a tester no problem! i cant test everything wifi, 3g, calls, sms.
Re: [ROM][WIP][JellyBean] Miui 3.1.18 for Speedy
This is my new favorite ROM!!! A few glitches here and there but nothing we can't fix up. BigSplit check your PMs.
^^I'll check it out, thanks, sounds interesting.... I want to bang out as many bugs as possible before I start trying to speed it up / tweak it though.
I have MMS fixed and the smiley picker imported from Evervolv for the next version..
Right now, I'm still trying to squash more of the errors popping up in the logs now. Some of them make absolutely no sense and give me no idea how to fix.
BTW, for anyone messing with any ASOP JB for our device and want Evervolvs smiley picker, here is a link to the commit Drew made on evervolvs gerrit. Each changed .java file coincides with a .smali file in framework.jar if you are not working from source

For sure. I just found it today, seems to be just what I needed for the two JB ROMs I'm working on.
I have wifi tethering working, but not usb tethering.
I have found the exact same error in countless JB threads all across XDA with some devs claiming to fixing the problem in their roms but noone actually mentions what the fix is. I have tried to contact a few devs, searched through a few gerrits, commit histories of various projects and I am still stuck

Hey at least there is some type of tethering. Great work man, this is the best WIP ROM I have ever used.
So I have most of the errors I have seen in the logs fixed, besides 3; 2 come from htcsync and the third doesn't effect functionality and CM just supresses the error in their code base. I will need to recompile CM10 to get rid of that one.
Has anyone come across any bugs that I haven't mentioned myself??????

So with the ones you have fixed it is down to USB tethering and 4G (not bad at all)? I didn't have anything that wasn't mentioned, but I haven't gotten to play as much as I would like to (damn that job of mine).
Re: [ROM][WIP][JellyBean] Miui 3.1.18 for Speedy
Wow! I'm impressed! Smoothest JB or even ICS I've ran on here. The only lags I've seen, if they are even lags, is when going from one app to home and then opening another. Actually its mostly been this app. I'll get a brown status bar and the rest of the screen is black just for a few moments then it opens. Its like that and goes to the threads. No xda "splash" so to speak. I do not have phone service right now, so haven't been able to test phone, sms, mms, etc. But everything across wifi has been nice.

Issues
almost none, whatsoever. i have used sms, called, 3g. the only problem i ran into was a bit of lag when locking the device but that happens everytime i flash a rom based on jellybean. great work bigslipt!
Re: [ROM][WIP][JellyBean] Miui 3.1.18 for Speedy
Yep same here just a little lag, but I fixed that. Does anybody even use USB Tether? Lol. I used it once since I had my phone and that was trying out ClockWorkMod's tether app, which was not worth my time.

I'm guessing that not many people do. I've noticed since messing with this rom that EVERY JB rom we have has the same error and I haven't seen it mentioned in any thread.

Wow, I didn't expect to catch this much flak for posting a rom.
Anyway, I posted from my phone using the XDA Developers app. I don't think it requires minimum posts if it is done from there. I apologize if I broke some rules by doing this.
Where does is the rom? This is what I got.

I understand the skepticism, but it really isn't. If you don't believe me, download, scan with every anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware software you have.
What I don't understand is the fact that people on this site will implicitly trust 90% of people, and when someone does a quick post while mobile everyone decides to not trust them.

You must not be very familiar with the way silverlight works. It requires the use off popups to allow a browser to download the file. I looked for a way to do it without popups, but it doesn't work. I assure you, no harm to your computer. If you want direct link to file go to http://mazwoz.zamzow.us/Downloads/MazWoz-B2.zip

Features list
In this thread we can discuss the ROM, share impressions and screenshots and so on, but please, report bugs on Github.
Important HBOOT note
AOKP works on Data++ HBOOT as of now, but I do not officially support it, so it might just exceed 180MB one day, and I will not publicly announce it because I honestly don't care. So please, stick to stock or custom HBOOT and make sure you have enough space on /system before flashing.
Download
All versions on min.us: http://minus.com/mbTSqS0sK
GApps (from RootzWiki/goo-inside): http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps#Ice_Cream_Sandwich_.28Android_4.x.29
Recommended A2SD script: mounts2sd 2.2.6 http://www.cxsr.eu/pubftp/index.php?dir=m2sd/
Do not use amarullz's data2sdx script. It causes bootloops with the way init.d scripts are handled in AOKP.
Flash ROM, then GApps (best without rebooting).
Switching from Sandvold's rom/CM9 could work without data wipe, but don't blame me when it crashes. Or just backup and restore.

Hi K900,
preston74 has already merged the DesireHD build from the VirtuousQuattro Team with Sandvolds Rom.
He shared it with me and I modified it for my needs, because I don't need the "Any Hboot" installer script from Miui-Au and I don't like, when an sd-ext partition is used by default.
So mine is a pure CM7r2 Rom.
I know you are building your Rom from source.
But I thought, I share it with you so you maybe you like to compare some stuff and fix some things faster on your build.

Known Bug
Some apps from market are installed to sdcard by default, because it's pre defined in the AndroidManifest.xml of the app.
No problem so far, the apps are working, but as soon as you open the app manager, your phone takes a soft reboot.
If you move these apps back to internal storage with titanium backup, everything works fine again.
And I can't find a way to fix it.
Any suggestions...?

added "Device options" link in Settings for devices that have an app to tweak device-specific settings
right now I believe only tuna/aries/p1c have these, all credit goes to CM trees where these apps came from
improved weather code, shouldn't bother you everytime it updates weather now
added "copy to clipboard" option in "Share" dialogs throughout ANdroid
added ability to toggle to "new" and "original" music controls on the lockscreen
as always, tons of other device-specific and internal changes, find them all at http://gerrit.sudose...atus:merged,n,z
devices changes
p5: removed OTA assert, shouldn't be any more problems flashing
tuna: fixed vold.fstab file not being added properly, which led to MTP issues, core FCs
tuna: looks like the CM9 kernel was included with this build by mistake (due to the buildbot using inline kernels and some misc testing). It doesn't affect anything, just letting you guys know we know! Enjoy their code
added showcasemtd & mesmerizemtd
ville: YOU MUST WIPE!
misc other device changes -- ask your device maintainer

Kernel update to latest by mantera
Many other small updates that you can see here
Instructions on updating to newest version via RomKeeper
Go into the app
Look for a new update if there is one
Click on that version
Check out the info
Press menu>fetch
It will download the ROM (Or .delta)
Wait until it says 100%
Press menu>Install
It will boot into recovery and install it for you and reboot into system. Just like that.
For those who are wondering, I will not be updating the AndroidForums thread anymore. This and the one on VMRoms.com are my main threads that will be updated.
So you'll still be updating this ROM?

Sorry, haven't read that thread yet. But awesome, this is my favorite ROM currently. ^_^
I can't wait till you guys get Camera working, then I'm gonna use this on my friend's Triumph as his DD (currently using Cm7 G60 style final ). I use AOKP on my GNex and it's the greatest ROM evar IMHO. A lot of those AOKP guys were from the Fascinate kangbang and pool party roms and they were my favorite prior's
Awesome, glad to see this being continued, really like this rom can't wait till I can use it as a daily rom, running cm7 g60 final.mobster tweaked, also a [email protected] rom thanks for the work y'all do

Right now it's one the list of things to fix but no ETA right now. rivs from AF (Android Forums) has been working on it.
Maybe its just me but do anybody else have to activate their phone after flashing AOKP Bulid 39? I flashed back to CM9 and I'm no need to I just though I'll point it out.

Personally haven't flashed it yet. I'll try reproducing it right now.
I've been messing with the nightlies a lot lately. So a few of them are bad (not everything working). Working on a stable build

Pretty smooth ROM man, and good job. I had an su issue at first and it wouldn't install anything from the market so I downloaded a supersu.zip and flashed that and when it booted up it was installing from the market. My shifts isn't activated so that could be some of my market issues because this isn't the first time I've had them. I also noticed that before I resolved the su issue that performance settings was having issues scaling the processor and it was causing some battery drain that now seems like it's gone.
So since I ran into these issues that were easily fixed I figured I would post since the thread is still fresh, and anyone else can fix it if they have the same issues

Awesome! I've been running this since you posted it. very impressed, super smooth. I do wish bluetooth worked, but other than that it runs great. Good work my man. Also, great ROM to port, running this on my brother's OG right now too haha
Hey wanted to say again, nice port . Good work. Runs Smooth, and Quick. Posted below what I found. Other than items I posted everything seems to be running well.
4G Reboots like ( as posted in OP )
KB lights not working ( at least on mine )
Camcorder not working
BT not working ( as posted in OP )
Is there anyway to make a flashable zip of the tweaks? I'd like to try this on twisteds rom.

Forgot to note: I did have to flash supersu.zip to get root permissions in this rom

flash in recovery. By default, the ROM was not giving me root permissions until i flashed this. The superuser binary kept refusing to install, and if I tried to use an app requiring root, it would fail to get permission.
About the camcorder, would switching out the APK from twisted not get it working? or is there some other stuff that needs to be done?

Frequent Q&A
Q: Is this Rooted?
A: Yes it is. To have the Root privileges, Go to settings>about phone>then tap build number 7 times to enable the developer settings, once enabled, under root access, choose apps and adb and make sure the SElinus is permissive. This is CM common issue atm. (Thanks to @foxxx5oh)
Q: Why doesn't this have Focal?
A: Because Focal doesn't work well on this phone so I removed it as it is usable but laggy.
Q: Trebuchet launcher randomly crashes. WHY?
A: Who knows? Install another launcher then since this is existed on galaxy s also - i9000.
Q: Where is 'fix permission' option in CWM?
A: I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore. (Thanks to @cpkelley94)
Q: Dahell, I can't use Google Now.
A: I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get root explorer, titanium backup or SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... (Thanks to @turtlepa)
Q: My battery drains so fast and I found out that WiFi kept awake and running in background even I disabled it. Why?
A: Due to new Android version permission, Google set up a new option to allow Gapps to scan for nearby networks even when WiFi is off. To disable that, go to settings>WiFi>advance>untick the scanning always available option n u r cool again .
Q: I got Bluetoothshare FC at the setup and every times I turned the Bluetooth on. What was going on?
A: It is one of Slim issue atm. Until Slim team make it to their first stable build, there will be various random bugs here and there so just live with it if u can .
More that has been answered here.
