Xda has tutorials how to decompile the framework and how to theme it. You need the apktool or something similar to decompile the apps for example the framework or launcher.

Hi..
Best tool will be apktool.. on windows or on linux..
Apktool for it.. Check details on the original thread for it..
Its pretty simple..
with latest apktool you can not only decompile and recompile apks but also jar files using apktool ... by

Yeah i used it but problems in recompiling apks! So i modded apktool on my own.
hello .... i m new to editing apks
as this mtk device...
i have one doubt
if i decompile system app ex. systemui.apk
after editing it...
and recompiling it...
do i need to push it directly or i need to sign that apk.... if neded to sign...please provide link to it..
or i need to follow other method ie. remove 'res ,resources.arsc,manifest.xml ,from new apk and move it to old apk using 7zip..
pleasse reply..

You don't need to sign systemui.apk because it is a activity automatically started by your device... Just push it to your device.... Any errors just reply!

Iam using Xperia C with latest update. I was able to deodex my rom & changing the settings to white. With lot's of search here on xda to deodex & change the settings to white. but where to find this apk or file to change it to white.

first of all you have to make a complete deodexed rom
coz in odex rom you cant just change an apk having odex file with it
here i think every one is trying to deodex whole rom
if you are done with it then install rom and then
go to system/app

I have found white Xperia settings, just change SemcSettings.apk in system/app folder.
Here you go
Edit: White background themes picker is added.

I tried to change background of settings application and I found that it cannot be changed through settings.apk. There is another way of doing that.
Decompile "SemcGenericUxpRes.apk" present in framework folder.
then go to
res>>drawable-hdpi>> here you will find a file named "semc_bg_tile.png">> replace that file with whatever background you want
then go to
res>>drawable-hdpi-960x540>> here you will find a file named "semc_bg_tile.png">> replace that file with whatever background you want
then go to
res>>drawable-mdpi>> here you will find a file named "semc_bg_tile.png">> replace that file with whatever background you want
Recompile "SemcGenericUxpRes.apk" and place it in framework folder.
By doing this you can create Custom Backgrounds in Settings!
Another alternative is to install Xposed Framework and the Holo Themer module.

i loved it..
but i want to put some modification..
like transparency..and i think touchwiz5 is the answer..but i cant decompile the apk since my framework and tw-framework is for gb?(correct me please if im wrong)..
need help how to decompile and recompile touchwiz5..

It's actually more practical to use Xposed Modules since the changes will are not permanent.
Modules like GravityBox, Xblast Tools and Android L Navigation will give you what you are looking for.

Yes the "KitKatPlatlogo.apk" can be placed in the specified destination and you will have to edit some codes in "framework.jar" after decompiling it.

I think Easteregg cannot be changed using Xposed framework.. you have to edit smali files inside framework.jar and then place the platlogo app in system and framework folders.
to do this on Xperia C you can use the tutorial whose link i have given some post above
