Just checked opensource.samsung.com, and they do have the GB source for this model. I'll check for similarities between the Galaxy Player source and ours, doubt that it will yield any exciting results though. Even if one of the soft buttons wouldn't work, its only the search button =P

source is there. But, it has "no" phone modem.

The two sources are as similar as the 4g is to the vibrant, not worth checking into as far as I'm concerned.

if that thing can have GB, i am sure we are getting it soon.

S Voice for Samsung Galaxy R

Will our Samsung Galaxy R get "S Voice" which is featured in the ugly looking(my opinion) S 3 in the upcoming ICS update?
Accidentally sent via XDA Premium for GT-I9103.

Well, Apple didn't gave Siri to iPhone 4 users, despite it being just an internet service. I think Samsung will pull an Apple and do the same for the new apps (it isn't just s voice) that come with S3.

Samsung will focus its attention on the S III, the S II, the Note and other popular models, rather than waste time porting the app to the R - a non-flagship phone that is no longer sold.

If its done for S2, I think it'll be possible to get it on R by devs.

yes they can have siri installed...
but u cant use them...
u have to purchase tokens (which r not fully successfull yet) !!
n if u go for free the servers r always busy n it ends with siri saying "sorry i cant conect to internet,try later"

I ve read today on appy geek it can be already downloaded, it is an apk. But it s only for devices which run ICS

then reboot.
*if you don't like it, just delete the text you add on build.prop before then reboot.
voila !! SoftButtons appear. But there's some missplace, i think change Density will help, but i don't know the best density for ace, maybe i'll try again later.

Yes,it's work!:victory::victory:

Tested and working. A little too high IMHO and taking screenshot becomes difficult, heck couldn't even take one. And you can't long press home button to directly access Google Now, it gives you the same interface as the Recent Apps one.

and there's some misplace too. i hate those things. maybe later i or someone else find another way to make these softbuttons really comfort to use.

The only thing I can think of, maybe it's the screen size. I mean...I have noticed many times that when I'm holding the phone in the middle I feel a little uncomfortable while I'm trying to reach the 3 buttons with my thumb so yeah they could be handy.
Although the disadvantage is that they make the screen look much smaller which maybe not be that serious for others, but I prefer my whole big-ass 3.8" screen
EDIT: Oh also, the 1click button which brings the task manager on instantly is cool

but the Ace 1 and Ace 2 have similar Screen size
well Ace 2 is just .3 inches big
not much difference
So this mod is mostly based on consuming screen size
so the phone model doesn't matter.

Well the play is a single core snapdragon s2 processor, and if your wondering about another phone just Google your phone and put specs at the end and it should tell you about the processor

Well...there this seller want to sell his android to me...he said it was note 2...98% same as the original...he said it was quad core...when I test the phone...it some sorta lag a little bit...

Are you trying to compare the processor of xperia play to note 2? ...

Not compare with Xperia play...the seller say the note 2 that he was trying to sell to me is the Korean set...98% like the original...but when I tried the phone was a little bit laggy...i wonder what processor does it use..

anyways... 98%? is it an authentic version of the phone or is it one of them counterfeit goods?
why dont you google information regarding the phone or you can personally ask the person selling it to you
