Hi all, I'm running xxxxxxx kernel and I'm not satisfied with the audio quality, I'm on cleanrom 4.5 and just flashed xxxxxxx kernel, and now want to try another one cuz of the audio. Any suggestions? I could always nandroid back to stock but wanna try a custom one. Anyone pleased with their audio suggest a good one?

Just flash acid sound mod. You can also flash Goodness ROM which comes with sound enhancements.
Does kernel has anything to do with sound quality , eh ?
The only one I know of for better audio is not to be mentioned on this forum and currently isn't available. All the others that are available seem to be identical.

Not that I know of. This person is using a ROM with no sound tweaks/mods.

I see the kernel version is different than white's AOKP. Is it an ICS kernel?
Yes... It is team acid's cm9 kernel with jt's changes... Everyone should thank the **** out of him because otherwise, ICS/CM9 would still be a dream to us...

Ok another one that is confusing me. I am just not sure what the differences are in all these ICS roms. Not saying I am not grateful. Just wish we had a chart or something lol.

The update does include some lightning zap tweaks (battery life, smoothness, and permorfance).
But the ROM already has several tweaks written in to it which you can turn on/off. For now, by default, they are set to NOT run. However, I plan on changing that soon.

@Thomas.ranies could you add shutter sounds and no shutter sound in the camera that would be awsome
i encounter a dsp error specifically when i plug my headset (idk how to log it..sorry thomas)
What is the reason for having to install from cm7 vs. cm9?

I removed the sounds on purpose... It's not in my plans for this ROM. I'm tracking the dps issue... It didn't crash on the tester v12.9 so i will be looking in to it deeper when i have time...
Yes there is really testers from version 1.0 to 12.9. Some of you may not remember, but this is the ICS Mutt project...

Testing all these ROMs are bound to start giving some people Gremlins So don't forget to format system(each flash), cashe (each flash), and do a factory reset every once and a while. That way we don't pollute the alogcat results with Gremlin problems instead of ROM problems.

How about you flash the rom and find out for yourself? Not trying to sound rude but theres no need for these kinda threads when you can simply flash it and find out.

Are you serious man. I go to the Q&A to ask a simple yes and no. I'm sure many are running it now and I still managed to find someone that gives me **** for asking.
I need this option for work and it makes far more sense to ask rather then flashing the rom to find out. Dude kick rocks

Thanks setco! I flashed it yesterday and my klipsch s4i buds button didn't work. I'm running CM10.1 because it works. Can anyone tell me if there is an app or zip available to increase the external speaker volume on this phone?
I use volume+ app from the play store although I haven't learned to calibrate it quite right yet.
When I use it to boost volume it gets louder but distorts really bad especially on songs w/ bass.

Flash AC!D, it increases volume. I have a thread in the themes and app section. Or you can go directly to the devs page and download there newest version.

Thanks for the info everyone. VIperMod is much better than Volume+! Got it installed and it works like a champ! Just have to tell my taskkilling apps to ignore it. I've had it stop working a couple times but I think that was the culprit.
I guess Apollo isn't compatible with this mod? Can you recommend a good music player?
