A mobile game which has reached over 170 million download isn't just a game, it's a phenomenon. A sequel of such successful game has been globally awaited as a great event. That day has come. Temple Run 2 is hitting our touchscreens keeping the essence of its successful formula and adding some interesting new stuff.
Thus, gameplay is still the same: a 3D endless running game in which you have get as far as possible avoiding obstacles or gaps by jumping (swipe up) or sliding (swipe down). Actually, part of the success of Temple Run is due its mobile-native controls: use touchscreen gestures to jump and slide and tilt controls to move sideways and collect coins. Coins collected are kept in your bankroll and you can use them to purchase power-ups and items that will help you to get even further.
What about the new stuff? First off, Temple Run 2 has been graphically enhanced. 3D textures and outline are now neater. Actually, there's a smoother feeling due to both enhanced graphics and more natural environments: instead of those typical rigid gridded paths, in Temple Run 2 there are more curves, slopes and blind hills. A needed touch of reality.
In addition, the stage seems to be a floating temple where, besides gaps, obstacles and sudden changes of direction, you'll have to handle mine carts, zip lines and a bunch of new power-ups. In fact, one of the new features I liked most is its renewed upgrading menu, where you can see your level-up bar, achievements left and coins/gems in your bankroll. Use the latter to unlock new skills and characters: now there are up to new four characters to choose among.
In a few words, this is one of the best games you can currently download. Why is it getting a 4-star rating then? The core of the game hasn't been touched: the improvements introduced could have been perfectly added on an update of Temple Run. In my opinion, all this new stuff isn't enough for a sequel.

I do agree but it sucks that it is device specific and have to start all over again. So far, I restarted the game 6-8 times. Twice due to the fact that my phone crashed during an update and the remaining times because I changed my phone. Every time I switched, I finished all the objectives, all powers leveled up with all the hats/head gears and characters. Had about 6000 gems. I wish they can link this to some social media site. It is very frustrating.

I decided to give mobile platform a try. I worked before alot with java and it shouldnt be a problem. Im going to make start with games since they are way more fun to code than utility apps. Now the first problem would be the whole idea and concept of the game. I was thinking about some sort of sneaking game where you have to remain silent(not moving too fast), avoid lights and maybe security cameras. This would have traps along the way as well. Developing levels is not easy but this sort of game will just not work on score.
That's my idea. Now...tell me your ideas about a new game concept. The more ideas I get the better it is.

Gameloft has made a career out of offering us games that the original devs for whatever reason don't offer us on Android.
**note: I love Gameloft games, they are at least high quality knock offs of popular games.

just make sure you turn off push notifications in the game options or you might get woken up at 1am when your phone vibrates telling you about getting more ammo for the game... happened to me...

Yeah. The official version was released two days ago (if I'm not wrong) for the Android.
Can't understand myself why the game is so popular and getting a lot of attention after testing it for a few (hey, it's free) .

Also wanted to add that Cubixx is the free game this week. I would definitely recommend it; it's a Qix style game in 3D and I really enjoyed my time with it and would recommend it at the ~$3.00 price tag it usually retails for. The 3D becomes a play mechanic as the cube has 6 different sides that can all be cleared. I have a review of it somewhere in the original playstation mobile thread if anyone cares to look for it. My largest complaint was that there was an updated version released on PS3 called Cubixx HD a while back that had a lot of extra modes and I think the replay value would have skyrocketed with them included.
Just wanted to add that a music creation game called Still Life was also released today and if I remember correctly it retails for something like 49 cents and looked pretty neat. Haven't picked it up yet since I'm considering getting back in to Vendetta Online which is something of a full time job.

You cant back up the data from the app PSM or you will get an error message and force close on restore but if you install the PSM app normally and sign in the games will still be installed as they get installed to SD. All PSM game data will be in Android>data>com.psstore folder (or something named Like that).
If wipe these games you can always redownload (even if free promo has stopped) as will save the purchases (even if free) in your downloads tab as they will be added to your PSN account.

Good news, I have been talking to Thomas Hopper, the developer behind this game, Radiant Flux, and other PSM titles. He has two PSM game projects in the works, Super Brain Eater and toEND. Super Brain Eater is an arcade game in the vein of oldschool classics like pac-man. toEND is a retro action platformer. He makes some good games. Here is a gameplay video of Super Brain Eater in a very very basic alpha form, work just began on this project. Give this guy some views, he deserves it.

Castle Clash - Spend way too much time on here. Somehow bugged my game though because nobody can attack my city/village or whatever you want to call it but I can attack anyone.
Coin Dozer - Has slow coin regeneration so when you're out of em you're kinda screwed for awhile. But you can advance your time on the phone and grant yourself more coins. Don't forget to set it back to your original time/timezone after though and rejoin the game otherwise your previous set time (say 3 days for example) will cause the game not to generate coins until 3 days have passed unless you join it and try to drop coins.

I used to be obsessed with that game. then they came out with the update for saving your game on the cloud, and it erased EVERYTHING I had from Level 32 and beyond. With literally $75 in IAP. Could't reload my game since and had to start from scratch. Can't seem to get into it again.

I had the same problem but I use the account number that my credit card company got from the transactions. Call and they restored my game just fine.

i just picked this up again few weeks back after it came out of BETA.... last login was over 2 years ago.
impressive how this game now has thousands of users globally...
...and slowly taking over my life.
For the most part a game is a game on any device, but not all I guess since now some games don't work on certain phones. My favorite game for any device is Plague Inc. Most of the levels can be done the same way but they have thrown in some other types of games that change all of that. If you haven't tried it check it out. It's free but they sell add ons.

Horn is an amazingly graphical game that plays awesome. But sadly it doesn't support 4.3 so about halfway through the bugs get so bad the game is unplayable. If you can stay on 4.2 then you get to play nearly to the end but about 75% through the bugs start to show up again but not unplayable.

True. But it plays nicely on 4.4 (sadly just have finished), which is on your Moto X as well, I suppose. In this environment (I use ART, but it does not really matter) best game I've played in the last years, worth every penny!
I bought it for $7 first time it came out on my first gen Nexus7 and I didn't regret a penny. Plays beautifully.
Too bad developers stopped updating it...
ps: Dead Trigger 2 has nice graphic as well. Plays very nice on high setting in Moto X.

I know, it's a weird ask.. But I get both of the mentioned things a lot. And a lot of the time, if I don't play guitar, I play games. I need good game suggestions that are casual but addictive/distracting to get my mind away. Can be either free or paid for.

Besides the usual well-known games (Cut the rope, where is my water, etc)
I would recommend 'Music Hero' if you like the guitar hero concept (quite basic, but it lets you play every song in your playlist)
Not so casual, but if you're looking for fun, very humoristic and addictive game- try 'The bard's tale' - it supposed to work fine with your device (but make sure you have at least 3Gb of free storage, because this game is massive!)

Yes yes I have! I'm not a fan of tower defence or racing games, though. I like puzzle games, and not-too-intense RPGs like 9th Dawn. I enjoyed Osmos alot, too.
If you are not into hardcore RPG then try Black Gate: Inferno by Glu for your RPG simple hack and slash
Try gba games with emulator.
You can find many games there.
Also 72in1 is a good game that gives you video game experience. Not available in Google play

Let me guess...your phone is not a iPhone 4, right? Mine is...and whenever I feel bored, I simply listen to the witticisms of Siri, the virtual phone assistant. In fact I have even jotted down a few of these Siri-isms here - at blog.teks.co.in.
My advice - get an iPhone, and spend ur me-times with Siri. Certainly works for me! :good:

A really cool game which has pleasing music and available for both Android and iOS is Osmos. It is kind of a sciency-fiction kind of game where you absorb other objects like cells. Sounds a bit weird but it is a good time-waster. It is about one of the only games I have ever played on my phone. It is paid but I think there is a free version to test out.

Yes and besides that, as if I'm going to spend money on an iPhone. If I had that money I would so go for a higher end Android. I'm not the typical iPhone hater but I just really can't stand the OS.
Try infectonator if you're into zombie games. Its beautifully crafted with pixel art graphics and with tons of replay value. Its very addicting and for sure you'll be hooked for hours. Dominating the world by infecting and turning them to pixel zombies is the best way to relieve stress... and did i mentioned you get to beat the hell out of Justin Bieber on one of the stages? Try it man!
