Sprint US 7.7.1Q-6_SPR-125_ASA-14 deodexed - Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE

Sprint US 7.7.1Q-6_SPR-125_ASA-14 (new OTA) in a flashiable zip file already deoxed except QualcommSettings.apk so you can all update and keep root as well as recovery option. I know some one with some java experience can doedex the last part or I ll learn it but I am to tired now.
Has had some bloatwear removed google+,sprints smart bs, ext
Stock Deodex and bloat removed ftp://computersandauto.dyndns-server.com/photon 4glte new.zip
Same as Stock DEODEX but with Rangerbry MODS preinstalled also should have DSP manager wifi teather and rom tool box ftp://computersandauto.dyndns-server.com/pwoerandtoggel.zip
1. Most reliable way to flash this is to FACTORY RESET FIRST to clear any possible conflicting apks or odex files
2 flash ftp://computersandauto.dyndns-server.com/photon 4glte new.zip after install finishes only wipe devilk cashe
3 let completely boot in to home screen
4 reboot recovery then flash ftp://computersandauto.dyndns-server.com/pwoerandtoggel.zip if you want Pull down toggles and Extended power menu wipe devilk cashe only again and reboot
on first boot it they both will apear to hang on sprint boot screen no more than 2-4 mins after which it will say updating android

The zip work as well much faster than the stock with and with out the bloat FYI Rangerbry Extended power menu still works http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884282. I am currently working on a combined flashiable which will be more like a pre:fingers-crossed:set custom ROM

requirements:
sense-hd based rom (NON-HD VERSION HERE)
deodexed framework libs in /system/framework
busybox with pkill support (for the 'hot restart' function)
how to install:
please make sure your device/setup meets the requirements above
check your framework build number (settings >> about phone >> software information >> build number)
download the flashable zip from the first post that matches your build number
copy it to your sdcard and flash it in recovery mode (as always, it is advisable to do a nandroid backup prior flashing)
impact:
a framework lib (/system/framework/android.policy.jar) will be overwritten
the first boot after flashing this may take a (long) while (dexopt will be busy)
WOW !

Ahh My mistake;. Browsed through the file.
I'm guessing from teh lack of a boot.img, you have to push it via adb. Which I hate.
I just get errors when flashed through RomMan. Using RCMixHD rom based on ownhere's release.

A bunch of things you need to know for galaxies vs aosp
1. I also came from a g1. I loved it.
2. AOSP, Sense, Motoblur.etc excluding Touchwiz(These types run on the basic file format. Install rom from a signed zip, start up using a bootloader spl, you must be familiar with hardspl. A boot.img, this is the kernel, and a zip with /system, and other stuff. Also a recovery.img(Amon Ra). And a modem.img
3. Those phones have a posibility for ADB Remount command and fastboot.
eg adb remount, or fastboot flash recovery.img
4. Touchwiz is Galaxy. They run on 2 bootloader binary files, a zImage as a kernel, and mainly the /system partition called factoryfs.rfs is stockly available on a computer flashable tar file which has the files. The tar files usually with files that include factoryfs.rfs, datafs.rfs, cache.rfs, param.lfs, boot.bin, sbl.bin, zImage and modem.bin.
5. Factoryfs = /system zip datafs = /data partition cache = /cache partition, param includes core files like splash image 1 for the g1, and boot and sbl are bootloader, zImage = boot.img with different coding, modem.bin = modem.img
6. zImage contains the recovery.img partition on GB and the /system partion has recovery in froyo roms.
7. Touchwiz has odd mounts, and flashing alternate recoveries has the potential to make your phone an expensive paper weight.
8. There is a feature kind of like boot loader and spl mode for g1(rainbow screen) called download mode. This is where you connect to the computer to flash the big tar files.
9. The smart devs have created a clockworkmod recovery, which has more functions then amon ra and allows you to flash zip files with sgs4g roms.
10. Boot animation cannot be changed unless you have a kernel supporting them. Instead of bootanimation.zip, they use 2 files called bootsamsung.qmg, and bootsamsungloop.qmg
11. DON"T FLASH ANYTHING NOT MADE FOR THIS PHONE, ESPECIALLY BOOTLOADERS AS THEY MAY MAKE YOUR PHONE UNUSABLE, THE REST USUALLY CAN BE RECOVERED.
so is there a way to backup/restore my galaxy s like i could my G1
1. the galaxy s 4g is not a G1
2. yes, you can back it up by going to "backup and restore" in CWM and then clicking "Backup". this will back everything up.
you can restore by choosing the same option in cwm, but "restore" once in the menu.
if you are on a rom that you want to keep, you can go to advanced restore in the backup/restore menu and restore only your data.
gdofwar has a tutorial out on how to backup/restore the phone. does this help?
when i go into ROM Manager and click "backup current rom" it takes me to the screen in the picture. there are no backup options. incase you cant see the pic. the options are:
reboot system now
reinstall packages
delete all user data
delete cache data.

Flash, not push. Unless you're rooted, the file system is set to read-only. If you are rooted, download root explorer or any other file system explorer, set to R/W, and push again.
To flash, boot to recovery and select the update.zip option (don't remember exact wording).

There is no "stock" CWM. Have you installed FeaMod Recovery?
If you have the stock recovery-mode, then its completely ordinary, that it wont work, because this is no CWM.
EDIT: You can find twframework-res.apk under /system/framework/.
ok..
and is it a lot work to install FeadMod??
I thougt it would work becouse i can root mu device with this..

you do need a custom CWM.
That's the reason why you get the error
Sent from my GT-I9001 using XDA App
did you use the in-build recovery or the CWM version? The zip file comes from the kitchen doesn't work in the in-build recovery. You have to update the updater-script file
If you go to the recovery and find it shows"Android system recovery <3e>", then it's the in-build recovery
WORKAROUND if flashing doesn't change anything:
1. Reboot into recovery (CWM Recovery!)
2. Manually mount /system and /data from recovery menu ("Mounts and Storages")
3. Flash the UOT file
Can you just flash feadmod with odin as a one package or is there more to do?
I saw somthing as you need to make a backup and stuff?
In the FeaMod thread every of your questions was asked before. Please read a bit in the threads and think about it.

7zip no luck but winrar works.
So the script recalculates the md5 sums. this assumes, that when you switch between various builds of "CWM recovery shell" the md5 calculation somehow calculates kinda "wrong" md5 sums.

[TUT]How to Create flashable zip from nandroid backup

Hi there guys, today i shall show you how to make a flashable zip from your cwm backup!
REQUIREMENTS:
Windows OS
The Nandroid Backup
A tool(not mine, attatched below)
Brain
Now, copy all files from your backup to the folder where you extracted the tool.
Now it should look somewhat like this:
Code:
.android_secure.vfat.tar.
nandroid.md5
boot.img
cache.yaffs2.img
data.yaffs2.img
recovery.img
system.img
bkp2zip.bat
unyaffs.exe
cygwin1.dll
Run the "bkp2zip.bat".
Now there should be 3 files:System,Data and boot.img
now zip those three files.........And you should have a flashable update.zip!

Now, copy all files from your backup to the folder where you extracted the tool.
Now it should look somewhat like this:
Code:
.android_secure.vfat.tar.
nandroid.md5
boot.img
cache.yaffs2.img
data.yaffs2.img
recovery.img
system.img
bkp2zip.bat
unyaffs.exe

Delete app data then backup.
In manage applications in the settings, i think there is a clear data option.

I thought it was only for Rom. Does it also make a flash zip of all apps and data?

uuuhhh I kinda don't get the point of this, I mean whats wrong with the default way of restoring a cwm or TWRM backup??
Meh, using UNIX tools, but not providing a solution, shame on you
(Warning: not actually tested, since I'm not really interested, just a 1:1 translation from .bat to sh)
Code:
#!/bin/sh
for i in system data
do
mkdir "{$i}"
mv "{$i}.yaffs2.img" "{$i}/"
cd "{$i}"
unyaffs "{$i}.yaffs2.img"
cd ../
done
rm .android_secure.vfat.tar nandroid.md5 recovery.img
zip -0 -r update.zip *

You can create flashable zip that will include ROM and app, then give that to you friend.
You can use it when you formating sdcard, after that you flash it back and you have all.
It's nice and more elegant way, for me, but if someone don't like it - it's simple - don't use it.
