Hi everyone, I've done a lot of research but I figured I would just ask here.
I'm currently deciding between the Razr HD for $200 or Razr HD Maxx for $300, both off Craiglist, both $50 bucks already off what the sellers asked for.
Does the extra $100 warrant the increased battery life and 16gb storage?
I'm getting tired of my Thunderbolt, and use Google Voice for texting so I like to keep 4GLTE on at all times.
I also am grandfathered into the Verizon unlimited data plan so future upgrade/contract extensions are out of the picture.
I'd get the Razr HD if I knew for sure that I could replace the battery and probably back cover with the HD Maxx version, but as far as I know this hasn't been done.
Also at the above prices, are there any other phones I can get that would be an equal or better option?
What are y'alls thoughts and opinions? Thanks for taking the time to read this!
tl;dr HD for $200 or HD Maxx for $300 and are these actually good prices
Get the Maxx HD. It's well worth it for the battery life alone.
You are not your iPhone 5

I just switched from the Galaxy nexus to the HD Maxx for the battery life. OMG I cannot believe the battery. Im not talking 10% better I am literally talking 95% better. I would not own another phone after this HD Maxx. The money is well worth it. I got mine from wirefly on 2 yr with big red for 150.00
HD maxx swap has been done, but its slightly complicated and requires a part that u just can't got out and order (maxx back cover.). so basically it isn't worth it and get the maxx hd. Used at $300 is reasonable

I'm on tmobile but switching to verizon for a few reasons which i will not be discussing.
I had the g1, then switched to the nexus one, and now im debating which Droid to get from verizon/
I'm leaning heavily towards the droid 2 but reading about the phones being a pita to root i'm not so sure.
Choices are
Droid x
Droid 2
Droid incredible
Which to get?
I recently made the switch from tmobile to verizon. I sold mine and my wifes nexus ones. She got the incredible and i got the droid x. Id recommend either the droid x or droid 2.
If i had to pick all over again id still go with the droid x though.
I bought the Dinc (Incredible) and bought my wife the Droid X.
IMO I'm not impressed with the X. I have never been a fan of Motorola. The HTC (with sense) seems to be much better. again, in my opinion. I would love to have the screen of the X but the overall functionality of the Dinc is much better. The Battery life on the Dinc is the wost part. I ended up buying two 1800 Evo batteries that work very well.
i recently went to the darkside and tried out an iphone 4 for a month or so. now i'm looking to get back to android. have to offers of trades i need advice on... i had a thunderbolt before. liked it but hated battery life. i have an offer of a thunderbolt with 3 batteries, 2 chargers, 25 bucks cash, case, AND he's throwing in an incredible with it. then i have an offer of a straight trade for a droid charge. never had one but they do look nice. what do you all think? need to know asap as this will happen in the next few hours. thanks!
Check out ebay to see how much the thunderbolt stuff is going for. You might be able to sell all of that and almost buy a new full retail device, that is probably what I would do. Or sell your iPhone directly. If it is only a month old it is worth a bunch.
Btw, get the Charge one way or another. Super AMOLED + makes everything else worth it.

Charge battery life and screen are much better, however the Thunderbolt is built a bit sturdier and has the nicer Sense UI (better than Samsung's Touchwiz anyway, I'm not a huge fan of either) plus a notification LED... in the end its up to you, I know you don't have much time but I would try both out before you trade so you don't make the trade and regret it
Selling my xoom tomorrow for $250.
Going to get the new evo.
Opinions on the selling price?
what model?
any accessories?
what condition?
So, I got my girlfriend a 3G Xoom and she really likes the wifi xoom she has now. So, I will be selling as soon as I get the replacement ac adapter. I am curious how much you think I should sell it for...
MZ600 (3G/WiFi)
32GB
rubberized case
charger
Light scratches on the back
Bay Area of California
Rooted
ICS EOS 2
I was thinking $325.

US wifi
Case
lightly used
hi,
next thing would be to post up photos.
is it rooted? some may or may not like to purchase a device thats rooted.
also, "lightly used" does not explain its condition, so be upfront with any scratches are damage. the screen is important so make sure you show a good photo or two of the screen.
in the condition you mention, with no damage, perhaps at best 200 bux? people can find brand new and factory refreshed devices for 250 already.
I am buying XOOM 3g for $200 from Craigslist. Is it a good price?

I already bought it. It seems like eBay has the same price range. From 180 to 350 depending on 3g or 4g. It is in a good condition, minimal scratches. The outside camera lens is scratched. Which is not a big deal since I have RAZR maxx always with me. A lot better camera than XOOM. It came with a charger and Motorola folio cover.
Edit: it has verizon 3g. Since I just got it. Is there any way to call Motorola and request 3g to 4g upgrade?

Hello,
Is it always interested to buy a Razr HD today or is it too old ?
Tanks
I love my RAZR Maxx HD. Amazing battery life and great phone overall. If I were buying a phone now, I would probably buy the Ultra or the Maxx (2013), especially considering that the Maxx is now only $449 off contract.

hello,
thanks for the response
in France we can't find the MAXX, so only the Razr HD is available.
without the big battery size, is it interesting too ?
Razr HD Maxx
I think without the big battery, it does not make much sense.
Wait for a few months, and lay your hands on the Droid Maxx (the latest 5" phone in this series).
hi, i've bought mine at topachat.fr, i've got it since one week and I don't regret,
the phone is better than my nexus 4 who lives 3 months ...
I've root it with an exploit and use xposed framework to google experiance my rom and I'm very fan at all...
4G working great too
Hey guys, I kind of doubt it but some of you may remember me as I released a tool for the Razr HD back it was new. I was an Atrix HD user. I have gone through several phones since then and I am really sick of locked bootloaders. So I bought the Maxx HD and I am getting rid of my S4. So I am assuming the phones battery is probably pretty bad. The guy has had the phone since it was released so I am kind of doubting that the battery is what it once was. My question for everyone is, has anyone replaced this battery? How much did it cost if you did? Or does anyone have a recommendation of a place that can replace the battery?
i would look up the battery on ebay for cost/purchase and find a video on youtube on how to do it, if you are so inclined.
i believe you can also send it away to moto and have them do it if you want.

Yea I priced it out. It would actually be cheaper to send it out to moto and have them do it. That said I talked to the swappa seller and he said that the battery is still good and lasts a full day no problems! IF it does become weak then I will send it to Moto.
