[Q] Noozxoide Eizo Rewire Pro causing static - General Questions and Answers

Every time I activate any of the features/processors in Noozxoide, I can hear a slight static buzzing noise in the background of any music. When I turn off the features, the buzzing goes away. Is this normal, and if not, how can I stop it? I've tried listening to my music with Poweramp, Neutron, noozy, and jetAudio. My device is a Verizon SGSIII running the latest version of PACMAN ROM. My kernel is the latest release of KT747. I have done some undervolting and overclocking using KTweaker. I also have Ac!d Audio Mod v5 (the Samsung optimized version) installed. I have good headphones (Audio Technica ATH-M50s), so I don't think it's a hardware issue. Any and all help is appreciated.

Problem resolved, this post can be deleted.

May I ask how you resolved the issue? I have the exact same scenario going on with my sgs3 as well - I'm on a different ROM/Kernel, but same base issue. Thanks!

[Q] Tweak 2.0 audio issues

I installed Tweak 2.0 coming from stock and had serious issues with audio. I re-flashed wiping data and the problems still persisted. I am getting audio skips when listening to music and I also had bad high pitched screeching noises. The audio was just plain "flat".
I flashed back to Eclipse with AOSP apps and the music was back to crystal clear with no skipping at all and the music was back to the "full" sound I was used to. I listen to a lot of Pandora in the car as I travel frequently. I also have the voodoo sound plus app to correct the low audio gain common with Samsung phones.
I get better battery life on Tweak and would like to stay on Tweak but can not live with the audio issues I was having. Does the audio get processed by the ROM or Kernal? I am using stock kernal for both.
I can not figure out what the problem is with Tweak Rom.
You don't have dsp manager ruining as well do you. I had to uninstall it when I can from eclipse to tweaked because audio issues.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA
When I went to Tweak, it was a fresh install. DSP manager is included with Elclipse ROM, not Tweak. It was not even on my phone at the time.
Running Elclipse, I leave DSP manager off (all settings disabled).
Haven't heard of this one before - have you tried just using the same apks as are used in Eclipse? Audio has never been an issue, though I haven't used much beyond the play music and pandora apps myself.
Another thought - have you tried it with and without voodoo sound plus app being installed?
Hey Dwith,
No, I have not tried just the Eclipse Apps, I would not know where to start. In regards to the voodoo sound app, I can not listen to audio with my phone without it. It does not put out the correct audio output or dynamic range. The sound level is just too low without voodoo.
One would probably not notice if they are connecting the phone to a boombox or something small but when you connect it to an aplified home theater system or an aftermarket car audio system the difference between voodoo and non voodoo with the droid charge is like night and day.
I am pretty new to flashing ROM's and such so I am sorry if I can't troubleshoot this more. I was hoping maybe I was not the only one with this problem and others would chime in.
I really like Tweak but I can live with Eclipse too. They are both great ROMS.

[Q] Sound troubles with dsp manager on OS 21/06

Since the last build of OS, (21/06) i'm experiencing some troubles with dsp manager. When i enable any of the options (dynamic range compression, virtual room or bass boost) sound gets saturated. only equalizer seems ok, although when one raises the volume, it starts saturating also.
Sound was crystal clear on last build (12/6 i think) and changing to bricked kernel didn't help for that.
Anybody else experiencing the same issue?

Bluetooth Static, Crackling when playing audio or alerts/tones

When stock, unroot and unmodded, bluetooth playback to my Logitech Mini boombox and Motorola S10-HD headphones was decent. I did notice a few pops and clicks every so often, but nothing like what it is now that I have rooted and flashed the latest ViperXL stable ROM, ElementX 5.2 kernel and the German 3.17 radio. I've seen a few scant reports of this same issue, but I'm guessing not many stream audio via bluetooth, hence why the issue doesn't get as many mentions as it should. I can confirm it is NOT a hardware issue as the streaming of audio via bluetooth was fine on the stock AT&T ROM. Base ViperXL emitted this issue before ever adding the ElementX 5.2 kernel or flashing the radio, so I'm thinkin' the issue may be with ViperXL.
The static/crackling/popping sound is unaffected by volume changes. Turning the volume all the way down allows for only the artifacting to be heard and turning the volume up doesn't increase this sound, but at least puts the music on part with it so that you can at least drown it out with other ambient noise. It's horrible and only stops when you stop playing the audio. It sounds like clipping that occurs when an equalizer is set too high for the DSP or output device. Is there something written in these ROMs to alter the stock levels? I'm not talking the EQ options such as BEATS, Dolby or Sony Xloud 'cause toggling those on or off have absolutely NO effect on this issue.
I did come across a few posts in the ViperXL thread claiming to disable some chinese variant of the Dolby sound enhancer, but that functionality seems to be gone with newer versions of the ROM, such that I am now on. Disabling ALL sound enhancers does not resolve the issue. I know there's others out there havin' this problem. What would it be in third-party, sense-based ROMs that would cause this issue to exacerbate? Please post your experiences and possible resolutions.
Flashed 2.20 RUU and the issue went away. All signs pointing to the ViperXL ROM...
UPDATE: Issue didn't NOT resolve, but lessened under stock ROM. I've isolated the crackling to fluctuations in CPU clock. When locking the speeds to one clock rate, the crackling goes away. As soon as I allow the governor to adjust speeds, the crackling recurs. I'd really like a dev to chime in here and advise how this could be resolved. I'm going to flash back to ViperXL to see if these same variables have any effect.

Audio glitches with some music players

I listen to music from my N5 a lot.
Before I got my N5, I used PowerAmp. This is not possible anymore, because certain audio glitches happen every roughly 5 mins (sometimes more/less often). The audio glitches can best be described as a short sound (not longer then half a second) that is a mix of a pop and some sort of electrical noise, IN the headset. Basically, very difficult to describe but incredibly annoying nonetheless.
Anyhow, PowerAmp is not the only player that has this audio glitch. N7 Player has the exact same problem. Oddly enough, both Google Play Music and Rocket Player does not have this issue what so ever. I've only tested these four players, but as stated two of them has this issue.
Does anyone know why this happens? And even better, does anyone know of a possible fix?
What I know the problem is not:
A problem with the audio file itself. I can experience the glitch, rewind a few seconds and it's not there when I listen again. Also using Winamp on my desktop has 0 audio glitches.
A problem with the headset. Tried this on my SoundMagic E30's and Razer Tiamat 2.2, both get it.
A problem with the "OK Google" hotword detection, turning this off did nothing. (Suggestion from PowerAmp bug forums)
A problem with the kernel/ROM. I've experienced this with PA, PA+ElementalX, SlimKat and Slimkat+ElementalX. Also tried Franco and Linaro at some point. (All based on AOSP, so maybe it's a problem with that, I dunno)

Audio Distortion on Headphones - Stock 6.0.1

Hi Guys,
My first post as in this forum as I regularly find the answers on these forums but this particular issue has me foxed. I am having a problem with sound distortion when using any headphones connected via the headphone jack. There is no distortion when playing audio/video via the built in speaker or via bluetooth audio, only via the headphone jack.
I have uninstalled an reinstalled a number of apps such as Spotify & Poweramp. Switched on the likes of SoundAlive and switched it off again but no joy.
Wondering if this has happened to anyone else, whether it was Hardware/Software and how you fixed this. I havent found any other post with the same symptons so I would be keen to see if this has happened to anyone else.
Once the volume gets to 65% and up the Bass and vocals become very distorted and tinny like an equaliser is way too high but this shouldnt be the case unless I am missing an equaliser other than the one in settings and what was in Poweramp until i uninstalled this.
Thanks
