♦To use it,simply copy the file to your SD Card
♦Next,use an Advanced File Mangaer (Root Explorer),one that could access system files on the phone
♦Copy the vold.fstab file and paste it into the ''etc'' folder which can be found at the root of your system storage
♦Reboot for the phone for changes to take effect

yes it does work, there are actually roms with this thing implemented if I'm not mistaken, I just don't remember which one.

If im not mistaken,several of the previous release of the HD Kernels had the option to swap internal with external memory..Cant remember for roms too though haha

merging System storage
I have done a swap on SD cards. It is OK, but not the best solution. Better, I would like to merge System storage (1,20GB) with USB storage (1,10GB) into 2,3GB as System storage. Is it possible to do it? I would be very happy.

What error are you getting?
The reason I recommend link2sd is that you can find out errors without using logcat...
So please be specific!

If you are referring to app2sd or app2sd pro they don't work. Gs3 the sd card is secondary not a primary external. It is seen as emulated. There is a workaround though. You can use the my files folder. It shows internal and the external sd. You can move files and folders from one to the other. It won't work with everything but it is better than nothing at the moment.

Yeah Samsung emulate their internal memory as virtual sd card. They said it was ICS block, but someone on xperia arc can move their app2sd. I hope Samsung can open it back, installing gameloft games will drain the 16GB internal because their game 1GB size

S2E for Android 4.2 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098911 and sd-ext patch signed of pavel73 works for me on last build of 17.1.2013.

What error did u face after installing s2e app after flashing script?
hi bro ... i'm using cm7 and it already has the option to install apps on the external sd ... but even though some of the app still in phone memory as system files and that minimise the momory of the phone after avery installation ... the Qst is / does a2e most powerful and useful of it works as the integrated option of cm7 ??

Well the s2e moves not only the apps to sd-ext it moves the data of apps in it freeing much more memory.

hello guys ......i am new to XDA....here i found a thread about galaxy pocket custom rom where i found the non officially released CWM for pocket.Just to experiment i flashed Galaxy y's creeds rom and chobits rom in galaxy pocket....and WOW ! it didnt soft brick my phone and started as normal.....but then i find the phone isnt mounting neither internal nor external sd and some bug in lock scrn but evrything else is fine ....then i flashed ddlf2 stock firmware using odin....and since everything is working fine.....any solution to this sd card problem so that i can use galaxy y's rom in galaxy pocket??????? thanxx :angel:

Just try to replace the "sdcard" file in the bin folder (system/bin) with the galaxy pocket "sdcard" file and replace the vold.fstab, vold.conf in the system/etc with the galaxy pocket have.. I have test it in unoficial cm7 for pocket by adnan that first can't read sd card but it just can read internal storage after I try.... I not test it on other galaxy y rom.. so, try it.

Sorry I forget to give this..
Its just simple.. We just need to replace the file "sdcard" and "vold" in system/bin and replace "vold.fstab" and "vold.conf" too with sgp has.. then its can be read the sdcard.. I have try it on jellyblast v3 its work but in task manager the internal readed as external and the external doesn't readed.. but you can view your external data normally in sdcard/external_sd
So, need to fix it.
And about your question, yes you can do it but I think you just use an update package...

I just bought a Droid RAZR M. This is my first jelly bean phone. I was wondering if there is any way to move apps or appdata to my SD card. I have a 32 gig SD card and j feel like j can't even use it. The 3gig partition for device storage is not nearly enough. Thank you.

This is for everyone that wants more internal memory for apps and games (that's if you have a large ext-sd like 32gb or 64 gb). I have noticed alot of people need the app to sd feature but can't use that anymore because google seems to think we don't need it LOL. Please follow all instructions.
EDIT: I found a video that will show you how to swap your apps and games to sd and it's very simple. You will be able to get your internal space back and play games and use apps stored on extsd.
EDIT 2: trazfer says that the foldermount app isn't very user friendly and he recomends using GL to SD (root) from the play store here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slf.ListglApp
I'm leaving the YouTube video below for people to have two options which ever one works out best for that person.

Some apps do work where you can transfer to sd card but some apps you can't, it's pretty cool for big games like asphalt

Sir. i have found a way to fix this issue that doesn't let us move apps to SD. i have found this Foldermount application which puts the Data or Obb files or anyfile in my Internal Storage into my SD Card Storage. if you still need a fix to this issue i may upload it here.

Please do, this would help the community.
Foldermount is in the play store.
But if you need to mount more than 3 folders, you will have to pay
Still a great app. (I paid for the app)
