I'm trying to find the device encryption option in settings but am unable to find. Has anyone successfully found this option, and enabled it?
Thanks

I think it's not available in the jb leaks which is a real shame (can't use it for my corporate mail). Otherwise the jb leak is the most stable rom on my a2 so far.

Can anyone confirm that after the latest jelly bean update 4.1.1 the wifi notification is back. I used sqleditor and returned the 2 values in the db secure and system to 0 and rebooted just as it worked before. This time its not working. Has anyone experienced this when rooting from 4.1.1?

Its there, but the old fix does not work. The new fix requires .png's to be removed. Most custom ROMs have this disabled as well.

Is this what we must do for the new mod? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784615
Update: i have tried doing the above method using link above. Page 2 actually contains a zip file you flash an .apk file that supposedly does everything for you. I did this and settings crashed. I read somewhere about deleting an odex file in system/app... i did this and after reboot phone would not get past verizon bootscreen. Fortunately i had a nandroid backup. Anyways Im still searching for a fix that i can do myself. I am looking for mods because I prefer using the stock over modified Roms.
I've setted the home button long press action to "Google Now", then i setted it to "none" but it still goes to google now, i've tried to set it to another action, but it remains on google now.
If I connect the Tf101 to a devices with bluetooth tethering it do not go online, but all seem to works, no problems with stock rom on this.

From what I've read, Bluetooth tethering to a cellphone is not supported in either 4.2 or 4.3 - strangely enough though, when I moved from ICS to EOS 4.2 my BT tethering continued to work all through the EOS and KAtKiss ROMs, but it failed after I moved up to KatKiss 4.3 - at which point it no longer worked on 4.2 either. My understanding is that this is an Android thing, rather than a KatKiss thing, and it may never be resolved as the newer versions of Android place restrictions on loading drivers that aren't originally included. I would love to be proved wrong on this by a version of 4.3 with working BT tehthering.
The only way I was able to get it working again was by going back to ICS.

Excellent news! - this is what was needed to get me to move from ICS back to JB again.
With Kitkat 4.4 around the corner there is some major features with bluetooth being introduced with 4.4. With 4.3 working so well currently I can only imagine how seamless 4.4 could be but I am probably getting my hopes up.

Hi. I'm new here. Idk much.
So basically i owned a galaxt tab 2 7.0 gt p3110. i've flash custom rom pac rom 4.3 and i find it abit laggy. So i decided to flash stock rom 4.2.2 with mobile odin. After its done flashing. It needs to setup the tab. After pressing start on the "select language" a message popup saying "unfortunately, Samsung setupwizard has stopped" . Can anyone help me with this? I've been searching for the solution but all i see is something needs to be done with cwm recovery while i'm only having stock recovery.

I looked up the problem and some people bypassed it by swipping up from the bottom(sounds werid I think they might mean the status bar) and going to settings enabling WiFi will bypass it.
Edit: oh your on stock right now,vi think it might be a bad flash otherwise you need to ask your tablets official forum, this looks like a problem only they can fix if its on stock. Sorry for the misread.

I cant swipe down the statusbar. It does nothing. So can i flash with odin to fix this probem?
i think you reflash it in odin but if the problem still persists ask here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/help
So I downloaded the new Android Pay app last night, but it doesn't seem to work if you have a custom ROM installed. I have a T-Mobile phone and I'm currently on Resurrection Lollipop (CM 12.1 based) and it gives me the error "Google is unable to verify that your device or the software running on it is Android compatible".
This needs to change.
UPDATE - I found a workaround that *may* help out. Go into SuperSU and disable root (or disable however you want), try adding your cards again, and then go re-enable root. This has worked for many people on other phones with this error, but it didn't help on my T-Mobile S4
Let me know if you get it to work on another ROM (or even if it works at all on stock right now) or if you have a workaround for this.

Does it give the same error?
Is there any ROM available, where I can encrypt the system using the built-in option for encryption?
I tried a couple of ROMs, but it doesn't work with them. It just restarts and nothing happens.
It has become a must-have feature for me, and I don't really want to go get a firmware from sammobile and flash it, and then be able to encrypt my phone... I will, if I have to, but I'd rather not. Does encryption even work on rooted devices? I just realized I don't know that...
Is there a ROM here, on which this feature works? Doesn't matter what Android version, or whether it's stock or AOSP, either is fine.
Hi !
If you are talking about encryption that you enable in settings and need a password for your phone to boot, you can check the AOSP Extended ROM (Android 8.1).
I'm currently using since a while now and works pretty good (but sometimes the camera don't work you need to reboot the phone) and the option for encryption works ! But be careful, when downloading the ROM (if you download this one) use the v.5.3 and not the v.5.5 since it's very unstable.
That is exactly what I meant. Thank you, I'll check it out!
