Ever since the Jelly Bean update on my GS3, there has been no way for me to globally control the vibrate function for alerts or phone calls.
With ICS, I could use AudioManager to choose between a few different profiles. My daytime profile had the volume up loud and vibrate turned on for all phone calls, sms, and other notifications. Then I had a night time profile that would turn the volume way down on everything and disable vibrate for everything. And I also had a silent profile that would only turn on vibrate, all sound was off.
In Jelly Bean, the same profiles work except there seems to be no control over vibrate. I can tell Audio Manager to turn vibrate off for a specific profile, but the phone still vibrates.
The only way I've found to turn off vibrate and still have sound is to manually go to each program that is set to vibrate (i.e. each gmail profile, sms, facebook, etc) and turn off vibrate individually.
Has anybody found a better solution to disable vibrate globally with Jelly Bean?
Besides AudioManager Pro, I've tried Llama and RingLeader. All three programs have a place to set whether vibrate is on or off, but they don't work in Jelly Bean.

Is there any software that will allow me to toggle vibration on/off for ringtones and notifications (preferably from the system tray)?
I want to keep the sounds switched on, but just turn the vibration off as when my I-Mate JAM is on a table, all you can hear is the vibration rather than the notification and ringtone sounds I've setup. Then when I put it in my pocket to go out, I want an easy way to turn on vibration again.
Is there anything out there?
I've tried some profile switching stuff, but they don't seem to work with my JAM as it tends to turn off vibrate mode for calls completely (for some reason).
Thanks in advance.
Now i hv an issue which need u help. For my Nexus s, no vibrate appears when an sms or gtalk message comes if the silent mode is off. But, the phone would be vibrating if i turned on the silent mode. i set vibrate always in the setting of Sound. i also set the vibrate always in the setting of SMS and Gtalk. But, it doesn't work. i wanna the ringtone and vibrate both appear if an sms or gtalk meassage comes. is there anyone help me?
there are 2 modes
make sure you have set it to VIBRATE mode
if you set it to SILENT mode, it is really silent, it wont even vibrate, because vibration makes noise

Now the problem is that if the SILENT mode is selected, vibrate would come, if not, no vibrate comes. i wanna see that ringtone and vibrate come out together if an sms or gtalk message received without SILENT mode selected. but, it doesn't work. However, if an incoming call came, the ringtone and vibrate could come out together.
i had the same issue ever since I bought my Nexus S but the setting for vibrating when you receive a text message is in the Messaging app after you press the menu key adn go into settings
Messaging App --> Menu Key --> Settings --> Vibrate (Under the Notification Settings)
Hope this helps!!
I use audio manager (free version) from the market. It offers excellent control over all the global sound levels and vibration.
Sent from the future to put right what once went wrong.
I just flashed Clean ROM 5.0, and so far Jelly Bean is great. But I'm very annoyed at the removal of some of the choices for vibrate for notifications. There used to be an option to vibrate only when the phone is in silent mode. Which is exactly what I want. I don't want it to vibrate when I have the volume on, I only want the audible notification. But the newest settings only give me a check box for whether to vibrate or not!
Any thoughts on how I can set things up so that in silent mode, notifications vibrate, but when I turn up the volume, there will be no vibration? Frustrating for JB to have removed flexibility like that!
same boat, no paddles do post if you have a work around!
I have vibration turned off on a few of my applications for the normal profile. Whenever I put my phone on vibrate, the profiles seem to change. Apps that don't normally vibrate, now begin to vibrate. Is there a way to adjust the vibrate profile that I am just unable to locate?
Hi guys,
On my nexus 5, I can set my phone to silent, only vibrate, only ring, ring&vibrate sound modes. However problem I'm heaving is that those modes work only for phone incoming calls.
But for apps like messages, email notification, fb ... I can not make it to go into all 4 those modes. If I go into app setting and for notifications if I check sound box and vibrate box - then my phone would vibrate even if it is set to ring mode. If I uncheck vibrate in app settings - then my phone will not vibrate when is set to ring&vibrate mode. It will only vibrate when is on only vibrate mode.
Is there a way to fix this so I can have silent, only vibrate, only ring, and ring&vibrate mode for calls and app notifications?
Anyone
I use Llama for this. Tasker would also work.

How did you set Llama to get it to work. I have Llama but it does not do what i'm looking for; that is when set to ring only mode phone calls and notifications would ring/sound only. When set to ring&vibrate phone calls and notifications would ring and vibrate.
So far only way to make this happen is to go to every app and check notification vibrate when i want it to ring and vibrate. But this is pain in the b... to always change for every app.
