The exact site we bought from i couldnt tell you, probably amazon or something similar. I watched a few videos a month or so back on how to replace a broken screen. I also have extensive assembly training in a comoetitive factory setting so i got really good at understanding hiw things go to gether as well as come apart. The tools i needed i had already but tools came with the screen i ordered(bonus). All in all after relatively minor hassel with screws (that were already stripped, im guessing it was a refab phone) i got the whole thing apart. I took my time and double checked all my work against videos from youtube. Delicacy must be taken when handling the removal of the ribons from the mother board, a whole circut needs to be lifted clear in order to take the heat sink/chassis from beind the actual lcd or whatever its called. Took the screen from the old glass in 4 very well place lifts and put it in the new frame/glass and rebuilt. I will research my youtube links in the am and post. My wife is yelling bedtime.

Hey, can you verify if your multitouch works with that replaced digitizer? It should have 10 touch points, but I've been hearing that the replacement digitizers have some issues with multitouch.

From what i can tell, multi touch is functioning properly. If it wasnt the user of the phone would be complaining. no hickups as of yet, wich is suprising. Is there any way i can check all ten of these touch nodes to see if they are all working properly?

Edit: answered my own question with a google, search found this site.

Or, you could use the MultiTouch Test App from the Play store. It's free. Hopefully the digitizer I bought has working Multitouch.

Bro log on to www.airfagev.com. Go to the forums and look under accessories thread. There is a member named "artic", he sells parts and accessories for all kinds of pda phones. last time i checked available brand new xda2 housing at 1800-2000. You can pick it up at any LRT/MRT station that you both agree upon or he can mail it to you. there is also a member named "kulas_sap" who repairs pda phones. my xda2 had a broken charging slot and I could not have it repaired anywhere for 2 years until I got in touch with them. he charges cheap and may guarantee.

A lot easier than I thought. Just follow his directions and poof. It is a little scary when your looking into the guts of your phone but your only removing the plastic cover and lifting up the board with the leds under it. Looks so much better. I've actually done it 3 times within a time of about 15 minutes till I had the color I liked. Just remember things do go wrong so be CAREFUL and as always I am not responsibe if bad things happen,LOL

Shattered my screen! I thought these things were strong! :(

It broke in my pocket. I think it flexed over my leg when I got in the car or something. I didn't drop it or hit anything but it spider-web cracked and now I need a new one.
I see them on ebay for $55 or so. Has anyone done this? How hard is it?
I believe there was a guide on taking the G2x apart on these forums. The search button is your friend, you can also look up O2x guides.

The one thing I hate about forums/texts is that attitude is easily misconceived. It wasn't meant rude but most of the things I post come off that way sadly (perhaps I should stop posting lol).
You've been a great help here from topics I've been involved with. No harm meant.

Gorilla Glass is a heat treated tempered glass with incredible resistance to scratching and cracking due to short drops. But when you put a phone in your pocket it can be subjected to twisting and bending forces it is not designed to withstand. The phone was probably getting upward pressure from your thigh and upward pressure from your abdomen/waist and being flexed in such a manner created forces that cracked the screen. Phones with large format touchscreens should never be carried in this manner, as you can see from your unfortunate results.
From what I have seen on the net these phones are one of the easiest smartphones to disassemble, but LG USA will do the repair for about $75.00. Beats taking it apart yourself to save $20 IMHO. Call them, set up the service and send it in for repair.

Here's the P6200 disassembly guide

"unstable." That's an interesting choice of word. I'd say that when I try to dance, I'm pretty unstable. I'm also unstable when trying to balance on a tightwire. Does that count?
Hehe. I left out the mentally-part. I thought that was obvious. Just joking around... trying to imagine ways that tool could be put to use.

Oh! Why didn't you say so? Obviously, most people on these forums are mentally parted! As well, we often part with our mentality.
Am I missing something mental here? Perhaps only part-way?
Well, in any case, I hope you didn't take my comment personally. I certainly didn't mean for it to come across that way. When I saw that image you linked, I giggled and immediately pictured a frustrated XDA member heading to Samsung with ICS-demands on their mind and a hammer in their hand.
Have a nice day, Gary.

Not that I can tell. The fix is very easy, unscrew 7-8 screws put on replacement. Screws back in the back and profit.
Problem...can't find the damn replacement part that works for VZW and Samsung won't send a replacement part.

Do you wonder why you aren't getting a warm reception?
First there is this exact thread posted by someone else already going in this forum, at one point it was literally right on top of yours. Second is your attitude. Mistawolfe asked if you had googled it and you came back with a smart ass response...
Next time you're along for help lose the attitude if you really want someone to help you. Until then you can find your own part as far as I'm concerned.
I am glad I found this...I was going to order the international version as well because mine has a scratch on it.
