What games did you have problems with?
I had weird flickering in Six-Guns which I was not able to play at all and now in Siegecraft THD Lite (= demo) which just crashes after hitting play (or play / next)
Some others crashed randomly, but not so much that it would be worth mentioning with all the problems with T3 / TF700...
Update: I've found out that a reboot actually might help when experiencing problems with games (not sure why yet).
Update: After excluding some lines from build.prop and rebooting the device Siegecraft works. Will have to find out what influences the games in general.
It seems that switching off these two in my build.prop file helped with Six-Guns too!
# debug.sf.hw=1
# persist.sys.ui.hw=1
Montezuma 3 starts flickering now and then for no reason, only way to stop it is to kill the game with a task manager and restart it. No other issues found so far with games or apps. Don't have Siegecraft though.
I have issues with Grabatron on my Bionic, a game that I really enjoy. Anyone want to test that one for me? I'd love to play it on the Infinity when I pick it up.

I've had problem with most THD and 3D-games, heavy flickering and constant crashes. Its better after the latest update though, games still crash but not as often.
Seemed to be memory related as my log showed this error with every crash:
D/NvOsDebugPrintf( 5793): NvRmChannelSubmit failed (err = 196623, SyncPointValue = 1319148)

I had flickering effect in a few games, but after build.prop changes, two of which I've excluded lately. Apart from that, I think that data wipe + flashing TW firmware helped me with a lot of these issues, might be worth a try (you could use MyBackup and store it on external storage manually)
After a bit more testing the crashes are as bad as before and heavier games are as good as unplayable because of this. Anyone else having the same log error as I described above? This is really starting to piss me off...
@d14b0ll0s Might try the build.prop changes you suggested but a data wipe only seems to temporary delay the problem. Might be a memory leak somewhere or in the worst case scenario its defective RAM.

If you hadn't done any build.prop tweaks before, you don't need to exclude these lines, as they are not there.
It may be just system memory settings. Are you rooted?

Nope, im not rooted yet. I've rooted every android device I have ever owned but wanted to wait 'til we got an unlocked bootloader before I started to mess around too much.

Thanks for the info...my phone won't load it whatsoever. I'm wondering the issue is...it loads the first time, but if I try it again, it will turn the screen landscape and then go back to portrait. Glad to know I can try it out on the Infinity when I get it.
Can it be the openGL driver? Sounds like the problem i have with Sygic navigation. Screen goes black on heavy 3d zooming.

I'm having trouble with the simple games, too : Words with friends & draw something. They crash instantly every time.
Are game issues another victim of the terrible i/o problem or is this something else?

I've heard similar problems from people over in the Android Central forums. Words with Friends and Draw Something don't work for some reason...
After rooting and changing scheduler to sio I no longer seem to have problem with games crashing all the time. The difference in all around performance is huge, the tablet is finally really responsive.

Hi
I got the Transformer Pad a few month ago and it was okay. A bit laggy sometimes and the browser FC now and then so I thougt Asus would fix this in an update so I didn't return the tablet, witch was a big misstake!
A few days ago it started to lag a lot and the browser freezed and most times it took 2-5 minutes to load a page. I googled and saw that some Motorola Zoom owners got this problem after updatig to ICS but some said that it was hardware issue.
I did a factory reset and the lag got better but the browser is still next to useless. I have tried different browsers and still have problems with all of them. Is there something wrong with my tablet or does Asus software just suck? Shuld I send the tablet in for repair or should I root it and flash another rom on it? (running stock now).
Sorry if the text is wierd, SwiftKey really suck sometimes.
just unlock and try out Hydro or Scotts Rom
Try using chrome or Firefox (beta)

I had the same issue with my browser when I first got the tablet. Chrome is fine, but it crashes alot, and if you notice the changelogs for each version of Android they are always making changes/improvements to Chrome to keep it from acting so skiddish.
Just use Dolphin Browser. It syncs with google chrome so you have all your bookmarks and stuff, its blazing fast, and has tons of awesome add-ons.
search for browser2ram apk , its a miracle for stock browser
i use chrome and havent had any issues. Ionly used chrome thogh because of bookmarks, i didnt know dolphin browser did that too. Im gonna have to try that one.

I absolutely can't use Google Maps for some reason. It closes without any sort of reason while just using it normally. I tried to look up an address and then zoomed out, it went blank and then just closes. No dialog boxes, nothing. I'm not sure what is causing the issue, but I can't use it.

They're similar, but not the same. Kind of strange that Maps doesn't work though, that's a pre-loaded, Google app.
EDIT: Just tried to uninstall all the updates, no dice. Still not working. Weird, as I used it when I first got my tablet just fine. Maybe something in the .26 update broke it...
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app
It has to be something from an update since I'm still on .21 and have no problems with it. If someone on .22 could check if their Google Maps works, maybe we could see where it first becomes an issue.
I'll try as well when I update to .22
I had no problem right out of the box.
I manually updated to .26 and again no problem

Rooted but locked
OTA updated to 26 and map is working fine, pretty fast zoom in and out.
Go to applications and clear data / cache on google maps and then force stop. Restart tablet and try opening google maps.

I just check and Google maps seems to be working fine for me as well (on .26 also). I searched for an address and then zoomed out and back in and back out, etc - didn't notice any issues.
I'm rooted & unlocked if that matters...

Have you tried a cold boot? My maps seem to be working fine but I've had some problems with not being able to zoom in close enough to see streets and use street view. But then I tried on my phone and had the same issue. Must be something with the new Maps update.

Ok... maybe a rogue app causing problems? If it worked before and it doesn't now maybe something that was introduced into your tablet is messing with it.
Or possibly modified settings? Sorry your having issues. Hopefully the next firmware update solves it for you.

Maybe, I'll wait till the custom roms mature a bit and see what a fresh install can do.
Just updated to .26 last night and tested. Can't replicate your issue. Can you verify that the GPS is functional via a testing app like GPS Test or GPS Toolbox?
So i just got my new pad and have been playing with it, closing, opening apps, and web browsing. I have found the tablet to be sluggish opening apps or responding to keyboard input in chrome. I didnt recieve any update when i first turned it on. Is there anything i can do?

You are not on Power Saving mode, are you?
Power Saving mode saves battery but makes whole process stutter especially opening application you can see frames stutter and wish you had Buttery smooth Jelly bean there. But on balanced mode, I don't notice any and not sure if Jelly bean would do anything there... as it is already so smooth.
But as far as browser, if you have many applications running behind that may cause keyboard input delay. If not, recommend Cold reboot.

No matter what might go wrong in life the absolute very first thing I wish for is buttery smooth jelly bean. Just last week I was complaining about the price of gas and it made me wish for buttery smooth jelly bean.

I have the same problem as you as well as others. I'm on the updated firmware and am incredibly disappointed. I've been supporting Android since it was first released and absolutely love my Nexus phone. I've had a few Android tabs and they have all been lacking. I finally did something I swore that I would never do and used an iPad. I really didn't like it except that it operated so smooth and didn't crash. I ran out and bought this tab as I hoped it would work better so I could ditch the iPad. Unfortunately, my infinity lags when loading pages and Gmail, crashes when watching movies and Gmail, and refuses to open desktop version of websites. I am going to wipe and reload one more time and if it doesn't work, I will have to send it back. I really really want this tab to work.

Huh, after updating I thought this was the only non_lag android tablet I've used besides the Nexus 7 which is even faster. I've also not had force closes and the Primes browsing was ruined by that. Of course it has other issues because that's how Asus rolls.

no. mine came with .21 and i wasn't getting .26 OTA. you download it from the ASUS site, unzip it and put the resultant zip on the root of an sdcard. slot the sdcard in and you'll get an item in notification that there's an update available. bam.
search the forum for detailed instructions.
THAT SAID - although .26 is MUCH better than .21 IME, i still have performance issues with the 700. not so much that it's sluggish - but that the digitizer just stops accepting input periodically. it's definitely a software problem and it's definitely frustrating. haven't sussed out any culprits yet.
doody.

Apparently, dolphin is a bigger botnet than chrome. And that's saying something.

By botnet do you mean the tracking? I mean, we are on Android, it exists for Google to increase their ad information capabilities. It is what it is.

Sounds like that famous reply from the Apple Genius when the wife asked if porn links on her husband's computer could have come from a virus - "Of course they could" - man loyalty wins every time.
