What clock speed is your tf700 - Asus Transformer TF700

I am asking this question because on asus.com it says that the official clock speed is 1.6 ghz but i bought brand new my fully stock never customized tf700 that clocks in at 1.7 just wondering why this is?

Single core clock speed goes up to 1.7 GHz.

Benchmark on captivate

Hi guys
I downloaded the quadrant standard application on my Captivate. Looking into the system info i observed the following
1. CPU : samsung cortex v7. I thght the processor was a v8? I dunno whether the processor info is right.
2. The processor speed is displayes as "800 MHz"
Max freq ; 1000 MHz
MIN freq : 800 MHz
Whatz going on here?
Can someone explain this?
Please run the benchmark and lef me know!

the 800mhz I would assume means it is throttled down.
My results...
Name: ARMv7 Processor rev 2 (v71)
Current freq: 800 MHz
Max req: 1000MHz
Min freq: 100 MHz

Just ran the benchmark and got the same thing. Please don't tell me this thing is underclocked. if so is there a program out there that will bring it up to speed?
The processor is a Samsung S5PC110 Cortex-A8 and uses the ARM v7 instruction set. It's not a version 8.
there is an APp to change your CPU clock. Don't do it though, nothing on android requires those extra 200 MHz yet. If your thinking about UI Lag, this is a software issue and not a consequence of the throttled cpu. Hang tight for a fix from developers.
With the software fix and throttled down cpu, this phone is still faster than the newest phones running 2.2 (Froyo)
SetCPU will let you force the frequency. But you shouldn't need to use it, 800MHz just seems to be the Hummingbird's idle frequency. The CPU probably just idled while the graphical benchmarks were being run.
CPU in phones never runs at 100% at all times that would kill battery , you can force it if you root your phone but that is counter productive , as it goes from anywhere from 1% to 100% of its speed when it needs to , during intensive usage or benchmarking it will reach 1000mhz , but if all you do is read text it will conserve battery.
Its obvious from this info below
Current freq: 800 MHz
Max req: 1000MHz
Min freq: 100 MHz
Yes, the Cortex A8 is an ARM7 processor. The older CPU's used were ARM11 processors.
Thankx for the info guys..
I checked again and for some reason i got confused with the processor and was writing the post from memory (my memory ). it says ARMv7 Processor rev 2 (v71).
And yes i do think the 800 MHZ is pretty fast.
I just need to get rid of the samsung UI and switch to stock android.

The spec sheet lists 1 GHz, and spec sheets show the operating frequency so I would assume that the CPU can run at different speeds for different workloads. Try running a couple heavy applications in the background and check it again. If all is well in the world it should clock upto 1 GHz.

The processor is NOT 800mhz it's just throttled down to 800mhz cause of not needing the full 1ghz speed. That saves power and battery life gets extended. Laptops and desktops do the same thing.
so in other words it basically adjusts oh and also maybe the ARMv7 infrastructure is better then the 11 one
yes i do get the idea

I do get the idea!.. i inquired about it bcoz nowhere it was mentioned that the processor was underclocked.. So basically the ideal processor speed is 800MHz and it can be overclocked to 1GHz is the way i see it!
sorta like that more like the speed auto adjust to your needs i think
So what kind of scores does this phone get in comparison to other new Android phones with or without 2.2. I am curious between the Quandrant scores of Hummingbird (Galaxy S), OMAP (Droid X), Snapdragon (HTC HD2/EVO 4G).
Thanks.
well the hummingbird beat the evo 4g in graphics and cpu power just search captivate benchmarks on youtube the channel name is androidandme
with mimocans lag fix ive seen people get scores as high as 1700(nexus one on 2.2 gets about 1250).
cognition 6.1 XXJVQ 2.3.4 gingerbread on my 1897 captivate

MOST overclockable phone.

I have the evo shift/speedy. Stock speed is 806. Overclockable to 1.9 to 2.0. Ran it for a day this week over 1.9 GHZ. .Doesn't really get warm with normal use.
HTC Desire S here. Stock max clock speed was 806 MHz. I am now using it at max clock speed 1516 MHz.
It's rather normal your device doesn't get noticeably hotter than before overclocking since the clock speed is an upper limit. Only during bursts of intense computational tasks does the CPU run at its max allowed frequency. The rest of the time it mostly idles at the minimum frequency.

Overclock - cpu/gpu

Is there a way to overclock at Xperia m2?
If not, would it be possible for a developer to make a kernel to overclock both the gpu and cpu?
Thank you in advance ...
Sorry my English, I used a translator to create this post ...
I don't think that overclocking is a good idea since the architecture of the M2 is kinda bad. Sony even underclocked the CPU so the phone won't get hot or worse. It is possible
My previous phone was a Xperia E Dual.
It is a low-end single-core 1 Ghz (1000 Mhz) phone. But it has a kernel with an overclock to 1.8 Ghz.
Yes it got really hot at 1.8 Ghz. (About 40 °C after 2 minutes of gaming, then throttling back to 1 Ghz) But for burst workloads (like loading an app) the 1.8 Ghz was good.
If anyone could build an overclocked kernel, I would instantly flash it.
No, the phone isn't slow, but it could be snappier. (Try opening the settings app...)
Still waiting for an overclock.

Why is cpu frequency only 1.3Ghz?

I'm using stock emui on android 4.4.2. I recently rooted my phone and noticed that the cpu frequencies are really weird. First of all all cpu over/underclocking apps showed max of 1.3 Ghz and min of 1.2 Ghz. Shouldn't max be 1.7 Ghz? Even more weird was i couldn't change the frequencies to anything else. I wanted to reduce the heat that 1.2 Ghz min frequency causes and thats why I rooted in first place. I managed to get frequencies stay by using Trickster mod's freq lock. But I'm still wondering if its normal for my phone to get hot and can I set max freq to 7.8 Ghz for gaming? And no, the power saving thing aka phone manager doesn't change anything else but increase battery life when I disable it.
That's for the A7 cluster. A15 cluster goes up to 1,7 GHz.

I just noticed in another cpu tweaking app that it showed only some of cores can go up to 1.7 Ghz and other only to 1.3 Ghz. This furthermore confirms it that only half of cores are cabable of 1.7 Ghz. http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model-cpu/6dee2d53
Too bad this info isn't almost anywhere at all.

Question Small cores lock at 1.2 ghz after 38C

Rog phone 5
WW-31.0810.1226.67
Hi all i am whit stock firmware and i have problem the small cores of the cpu get locked at 1.2 ghz after 39C and they start work normally again when the temperature go under 39C also it doesn't metter what mode i use i try also other settings i try hardcore tunning also it doesnt metter if i gaming or use facebbok when i reach 39C the small cores get locked at 1.2 ghz i try to downgrade the software to stock android 11 and test again whit every update to android 12 and the problem stay again i even try stress test and even the phone reach 48C medium and big cores stay at max frequency but the small cores stay at 1.2 ghz
I atach a video of the problem and 2 screenshots
