About LiquidSmooth
An aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project.
http://goo.im/devs/liquidsmooth
Description
We are dedicated to providing android users with smooth, stable and fast Roms. As a team we strive to support a wide variety of devices. Our main focus in these roms is speed, stability and size.
We do our best to include a vast amount of options to meet the preferences of the majority of what the users desire within optional and customizable features.
Moving forward into the future, we as a team intend to continue to provide these things and more. The aforementioned is only the core. Technology is ever changing before our eyes each and everyday.
In order to keep up with this our team not only spends a large amount of time developing Roms and enhanced features but also devotes a great deal of time to staying on top of changing technological trends.
With these changes we will continue to produce updated Roms, trying to keep up with new devices as they are released and attempt to include as many desired optional features as possible.
This is an ALPHA release of liquidSmooth 4.2.1 Jellybean...
What works:
WiFi
Not Working:

Alpha meant for testing the only sure fire thing that works right now is wifi, read the op. If your looking for a daily driver this is not it. Need people willing to test and produce logcats if possible. Other than that make a backup in cwm and test when you can, than restore two your last good rom. I am currently testing the cm 10.1 which experiencing the same issues. Exciting

Still no estimate as to when u will have a beta or a nightly for this yet?

I believe that question has been answered before, a few times when they get a kernel that boots with the ROM ,
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T769 using xda app-developers app

I understand that. What I'm trying to say or ask in this case is what do they need to help with the process and how can I do my part to make things go a lot smoother for the devs???

U my friend have just violated one of the biggest xda rules... NEVER ASK FOR ETAs... seriously devs hate that and it is a real xda forum rule and its rude devs do this for free and use their family time to bring us what we could only dream of otherwise... so just be considerate of all that when posting here or anywhere my friend...
!¡!¡!¡!¡!¡!PLEASE click THANKS if I helped!¡!¡!¡!¡!¡!¡!

Yes we are still working on getting a kernel.. as for a time frame ??? When we get it you will know!!!!

3.6+ kernel for Blaze, how can I help?
I see the same thing repeated.. we're working on a kernel.
I would like to ask, who is working on the kernel, what are they having problems with, and what can I do to help?
I know linux, build systems (long time gentoo ) C, Java, Bash, etc etc..
I am in the beginnings of learning kernel driver development, and i own a blaze... Could someone give me a point in the right direction?
Thanks,
~Mordjah

Everyone here is a badace dev.lol you can DL the source, build, but... plenty smart people have been wracking there brains for sometime on this. If you want to contribute, go to Irc.free node.net and there under #cyanogenmod or #cyanogenmod-dev, you need to talk to uberpinguin are cm maintainer or you could pm dr4stic , but like I said both and others are/have been trying and havnt quit. Give em a shout if you think you can help.

Lol.. Not nearly a bad ace dev.. few more years for that, I think What I am is intelligent and motivated.. I have been trying to understand which drivers are built in to the 3.x kernel series and which are propriatary blobs, and if those have any kind of build or config or if they statically compiled against 2x kernel headers and thats all there is to it.. then if i understand it correctly, its fighting against abi mismatches.. which may well be doomed unless the drivers are reverse engineered.. see there isnt alot of info about how this stuff is done initially by the manufacturer. I am working through the kernel dev books, and aosp and vanilla kernels.. just not sure what I need to learn to be useful. I am studying computer science with kernel/driver development as my career goal, and need to get started on a portfolio fwiw..
I will pop in on freenode, thanks for the pointer

An devs open to maybe comming up with a slim jelly rom

The issue with Slim jelly is that he/they won't let anyone port it to other devices. It is only allowed for personal use.

Yeah...we all remember what happened when I ported slim ics... :/
Although...I have been working on a pure aosp jb Rom...its not my top priority (twrp is my top priority) currently it boots but touch is messed up...I'm using cm10 kernel repo and infuse/Aries device repos...so not sure why its so unstable compared to cm10
If I ever do get it stable I may release it...

They should...you had the prob with data/texts/calls...I replyed in your other thread that your problem is likely due to wrong apns...I think by default cm10 ANC other jb roms use att apns...you just gotta figure out the proper rogers apns...
You could probably google "rogers Samsung infuse apn settings" I would assume that would get you results...

No promises...I PM'd krarvind for clarification...so it will have to wait till I hear back from him...if he says no...then no worries, I'm currently working on a 100% aosp jb Rom...if I can get that going then I can create a similar Rom to slim...

I wouldn't expect a build by tomorrow...or anytime soon. this is A LOT more confusing than I thought it would be...the main problem is that slim is based off aosp, not cyanogenmod...also, there is barely any source for slimbean yet...
What makes it confusing is that slim grabs things from sooo many repos...aosp, aokp, cyanogen...etc
Sooooo...with that said...I think I'm gonna try and port slimics from source first since the whole source for that is up...if I can get that going then ill move onto slimbean (for now slimics will be for personal use only...I only received permission for slim bean...after I get slimics working ill contact krarvhind and see if I can upload it for the public...)

Well...I'm working on slim ics, and from there slim bean...
I've also been working on a pure jellybean aosp...although its 100% aosp so its missing a lot of the cyanogenmod10 fixes...so far its like the first cm10 build...it boots, and touchscreen is almost completely un reaponsive
I'm also still working on twrp, I work on all these things everyday...so nothing is paused...when I get frustrated with one project I take a break and work on a different one
(Btw...I'm syncing th slimics repo now...my least favorite part about compiling because it takes freaking forever to do the first repo sync, like 3+ hours for me...)
So...to answer your question, yes/no...a straight aosp jellybean Rom is in the works...but it won't be a port...it'll be compiled from source...if I can get that to work...then I can start making some of my own custom aosp roms in stead of porting them...
I'm still learning as I go...but stay tuned...I have some big plans....

Nope, same dev I was the one who ported slim ics...this won't get taken down cause I did it from source this time
Anyways, let me know any bugs you run into...I just did a quick test...WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS (slow..doesn't have Scott's fix for fast gps yet), and the main stuff were working...went out for dinner, then school shopping then worked out so I haven't gotten to thouroghly test it yet for bugs...just made sure the main things worked

Yeah, does not yet have the agps/GPS.conf fix yet...will have that in the next update, as well as add in ota support, and possibly slim it down...I think he current build has items other device zips don't because they are included in the common zip - I want it to be as slim as other versions...which total to about 80-90 after adding device zip to common zip...so basically I wanna try and clear 15-30mb...probably 15 cause we have a 15mb modem included that others do not have
Got a whole weekend to work on this and another project that should be released by Sunday...
Also, due to school updates will almost always be done on the weekends...unless I have little homework this year...too early to tell

That may work, but Scotts fix was actually disabling agps because agps was not cooperating with jellybean...I think the GPS.conf was also edited...gotta look for the post...but it was dani who discovered the fix and brought it to Scotts attention I believe

Is the delay (and skip in music) when you turn the screen on still there in 4.3?
I got no root right, is it normal ?

Any hope of there being a "stable" release? The last one is on 4.1.2 as archaic as it seems! Lol how development flies. I know much work is being done on nightlies, but I would much prefer waiting for a stable release rather than questionable nightlies.

I'd imagine there will be before too long. With the 3.4 kernel worked out now development seems to be going a lot quicker now as rohan also pointed out. So I think it's likely that issues found in nightlies will be worked out sooner, and thus a stable build can be released.

They're not really "questionable". I think some people place too much emphasis on the nightlies being "unstable". Give it a few days and these nightlies will be working beautifully. I've flashed a whole bunch of nightlies that ran just as well as any stable build I've tried.

This is so awesome... I am still on CM10 given that it is the only build that works with AVRCP 1.3... Can't wait until this guy has it too (I guess it's built in by Google)?
Any ideas if fast charge would be in this kernel?
Thanks!

For those that have installed CM10.2, do you feel any performance has been gained over longer use considering 4.3 introduced the back-end ability to use FStrim? This would, in theory, take away that laggy feel that we all experience over time from writing and deleting material from our devices over and over.

is fstrim enabled for our device? an anandtech post mentioned that it was there in all the Nexus images. it would be really nice if it were in our builds

I keep wondering what the future of the Samsung Infuse 4G will be like... Will it get the Jellybean 4.3 Update, Will it ever see OS 4.4 KitKat?

Now, I'm not planning to change my phone until next year and I also love to be on the new operating systems.
I know many Infuse users share the same thoughts.
We need to help somehow in the development of new ported roms for our phones. We all wanna have the new CM 10.2 and the future CM ROMs. If its donation to our favorite Developers or a helping hand in developing or learning the whole thing and trying yourself (which is what I plan to do) I think its worth it.
I'm new here and these are my views and my first post. Hope other Infuse users feel the same... Terr20114

Definitely won't. I'm talking for the next year... 2014. Having an infuse in 2016 is like having a Nokia 3310 today.

android 5.0 is rumored to be more compatible with older devices and while also giving a major boost as far as speed and smoothness and such goes, so if these are true i would believe that we could in fact have KLP
That would not surprise me. 4.3 is quite a technical upgrade, improving the Android platform. It would make sense that would be quite necessary to build new features.
I am running JB 4.3 and i am in love with infuse

Well my friend, I wish we had a crystal ball to see the future of our beloved Infuse 4G.
But I believe we have something way better: Developers with such dedication as Scott and many more that keep our little workhorse up to date. We can proudly boast as of today to the galaxy S4 & galaxy Note 2 owners out there that our phone that came out in 2011 has the latest Android update 4.3.05 while they are eagerly waiting for their carrier to drop an update.
Hopefully we might get android 5.0, but for a unit that was abandoned by Sammy on v. 2.3.6... We have come a loooong way my man.
My respects to all the Devs out there who make this possible for us.

I think that someone with a lot of porting experience can get this to (partially) work, I have no experience with porting what soever, but I do know Python and learning VB. Would be cool if I could use those in android
I hope someone may consider it. I am learning all this stuff with a lot of effort. I have until now been developing apps only... But ROM dev and porting, and kernel tweaking is really interesting. But you can use python in android...at least in app dev.

WiFi is broken, keeping me from relasing.
Wasn't really a port, was more of recompiling the kernel and adding blaze support kind of thing. Only took me 9 hours...
This approach lets people flash any Hercules and skyrocket tw rom.

Do you have like tutorials for porting tw roms from similar devices(Hercules etc)? I would like to learn that. If not please give me some guidelines. I would really be thankful. Anyways you know a lot of stuff, have you ever considered passing that expertise to others? Oh well, i know there are a lot of tutorials on everything all over the forum and stuff, but maybe your way is different. You have done a lot of dev work, that's what i mean.

No tutorials it's all prior knowledge.
Well here's how this project came to be :
1) read this thread
2) downloaded the source code
3) diffed the defconfigs of herc, the cm t769 and the ics apex one.
4) compiled a kernel
5) repacked boot.img
6) didn't boot
7) replaced my uber kernel with the compiled kernel
8) booted, no network, wifi, gapps.
9)Repeat 4,6,8, and 9 five times. 10) debug ril. Fixed
11) post screen shot
