Hello all!I m using Resurrection 2.0 ROM.It s a 2.3.3 rom,old but very stable and smooth enough.You can find more here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574523
However, using it for 2 months or so can get pretty boring.I mean the UI is old and kinda ugly in comparison with new ICS/JB roms. Before I used to try many roms, but now I need stability.
I wanted to ask if there are any mi ui/ics/jb themes (i don t want launchers) .I want themes who are changing status bar,notification,settings,etc...thanks

There are themes made by vikasb32.
Just check and search in themes sub forums.
Btw the ics is pretty much stable now.
Ok,found some ICS themes.Thank you for guidance

Ill be releasing a new ROM named Eclipse Mix very soon might even be today. It'll be a mix including ICS theming all ported from another ROM.

We are stuck with the stock ROM (a modified 2.2) due to the drivers not being open source. All the custom ROMs are just tweaks of the stock one and until someone reverse engineers our phone or we get a 2.3 update (both highly unlikely) you probably won't see much more development. ICS will never happen, the most we will get is 2.2 with an ICS theme
Hey everyone, I didn't know if I should post this here or the development section. But I was looking for another ROM to flash and really like the ZTR but the server must be down because I keep getting a 404 error. Does anyone know if there's a mirror link some where? In not I guess I'll look for another ROM. currently I'm on Caty 3.0
Thanks for any help

Dman Took down ZTR. If you search you will find it Just google it.
Sent from my Nook tablet running MiUi 2.2.3 Alpha (GB 2.3.7) Rom useing XDA premium.
Just my opinion... I really love all of Dman's work but I would suggest trying Aeon or emancipation...
I've used both
Both of those roms are still supported, etc.... not to mention with entropy dropping a new kernel (hdmi support etc) the newer roms will probably suit your needs better going forward...
Just my 2 cents...
Here's a link to ZTR http://www.mediafire.com/?te7qg9cthr8hds3
This is true we had to become our own support with ZTR and even had to make our own themes. I will always keep a backup of my ZTR ICS themed ROM . But I am currently on another becuase of the support it gets.

I made it well clear before ztr was released that there would be no support for it due to I build for the note now... hard to support a device you don't build for...that's why it was a final release...
Bigs Rom, very nice build.
I suggest you put AEON v1.3 by Bigfau. Really super excellent Rom and seems like everything is working great, very fast too.

hi i'm new 2 xdadev and i'm asking what will be the best ics based rom 4 my next coming galaxy s 2 and maybe some good kernels and tweaks and etcc. thanks 2 all bye
Quick warning that may help you: on the portal a few days ago there was an article about an issue with offical (leaked) SGS2 kernels that can cause your eMMC to become corrupted. That will irreversibly brick your phone. Just be careful

You should give a try to cyanogenmod 9 (they said its pretty unstable but still)
No CM9. Please try one of the many custom Samsung roms and AOKP roms which are trending at the moment....

Hey. Try resurrection remix. It's in the SGS2 android development section. And I find that the SiyahKernel 3.2.7.2 is the best so far. You can turn on bln. This let's your menu and back keys blink when you have a new message.
You have to download "extweaks" from play store to activate this.

CriskeloServanTeam is a BIG rom, it is that i use
Wrong forum. Should be posted in the SGS2 subforum...

SlimICS

try rom ressurection remix , for me its one of the best
paranoidandroid, for sure

Try it out, Im using since few hours. Looks awfull, stable, battery life is nice...
Further comments will come in future days as long as I use it.
What is the difference between using a custom rom like Mildwild versus using a launcher with Cynanogenmod 7.2?
A launcher is just a simple app. It is only the "home screen." Non rooted users can install them
A custom ROM is a full OS, usually is tweaked to make the entire phone faster, have better battery life, more features etc.

If you don't feel up to the challenge of flashing a custom ROM, then a launcher is a nice alternative and can make a stock ROM seem much smoother (I know it sure did with my old Galaxy S), but a good custom ROM will always give you better results, as it has been tweaked with and most of the time will have all the junk stripped out of it.
Hope that tells you what you need to know
Hello in my opinion the difference in Launcers and Custom ROMs is high the developers of custom roms take features from other roms and they made one rom but there it have some bugs by the way they fix them. but Launchers is the official firmware in the device probably some lags but no bugs camera-sound-call and etc I prefer custom rom because is lighter than official one
Thanks guys
I'm running Mildwild now.
But Cyanogenmod (with a launcher) vs Mildwild? whats the difference?
Cyanogenmod is a full OS that I can run on my HTC desire, Mildwild is also a full OS? What does someone like Mildwild do to Cyanogenmod?
Sorry, I just don't get it.

Mildwild is a ROM, correct? I googled and found it is a ROM based off CM, so I'm guessing the developer took CM for your device, tweaked it a bunch, and released it under Mildwild (of course giving proper credits by saying it's based off CM).
Maybe that will clear it up for you

Just don't mix launchers with custom Roms!
They have a vast difference to be compared!
Simple eg :
Custom Rom can have launchers in it! Included
Launcher cannot have custom Rom in it!
Launcher is a small part!

hi!
for the last few month i was on jelly bam rom which is banned here...
the rom is very nice but it seems like the htc one s will not be supported anymore at the moment.... actual version is 8.1 and the one s stucks at 7.7
the devs are not answering any questions about bringing an update again or not what is really annoying.
i´ve actually installed miui v5 which is running really smooth on my phone but i think i´m more the pure android user ....
in the past i´ve tried pacman rom but had some crashes - that´s why i changed to jelly bam.
so do u have any recommendations for me?
thx in advance !

Tried a lot of AOSP Roms in the past (BB, liquid,...) and was on Venom for a couple of weeks. Venom is pretty nice, but I wanted a sense less Rom and 4.2.2. So actually I am on Carbon Rom with the old kernel and its running amazing! Will wait for kernel issues with 3.4 kernel getting fixed and then do an update. I really recommend this Rom

I really love Codename_Lungo. It's simple, fast, and pure. You can choose what apps it comes with. It comes with Contacts, Phone, Messaging, ROM stats, Play Store, Calendar, Google Settings, and Google settings.
Apex is the launcher it's fast and stable and so far is one of my favorites. I've tried so many different ROMs but my top are BB8, Illusions, and Codename_Lungo.

ROM comparison threads are not allowed. Try all the ROMs and choose the one you like best, not what others like. Thread closed.
