Flash instructions:
1. Unzip the firmware
2. In CWM wipe Data/Factory reset and Cache (Power and Volume DOWN/LEFT)
3. Open Odin
4. Restart in download mode (Power and Volume UP/RIGHT)
5. In Odin click the PDA button and select the tar file
6. Connect your device with the computer
7. Click start and let Odin install the files until the box turn green and your tablet reboot.
Note:
- In Odin make sure only F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot are checked. Do not touch Re-Partition!!
- This concerns only the P5110 Taiwan May 2012 firmware:
In Odin click the PDA button and select the PLATFORM file, click the CSC button and select the CSC file and finally click the BOOTLOADER button and select the BOOTLOADER file
When unzipped the firmware you may find an additional 4th file; a Pit file. It's really no need to flash this so I do not recommend this!!
Howto Root:
What you need :
- Odin
- GT-P5110_ClockworkMod-Touch_recovery_6.0.1.2
For P5100 and P5113 build look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068667
- CWM-SuperSU-v0.96
0. Move the CWM-SuperSU-v0.96 file to your tablet external SD (extSdCard)
1. Restart the device into download mode (Power and Volume UP/RIGHT)
2. Open Odin
3. Add the GT-p51XX_ClockworkMod-Touch_recovery_6.0.X.X.tar file to PDA in Odin
4. Untick Auto Reboot
5. Connect your device with your computer and wait until you get a yellow sign in Odin (Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked)
6. Press start and let Odin install the files until the box turn green
7. Disconnect and boot immediately into recovery mode (Power and Volume DOWN/LEFT)
8. Select Apply update from External Storage
9. Browse to the CWM-SuperSU-v0.96 file and flash it
10. When you select reboot system, you will prompted a question if you want to fix overwriting CWM with the stock recovery, select YES.
If all goes well your ROM is rooted!

Furthermore, the only drawback is the Samsung Chinese IME. But you can get rid of that after rooting.

I was wondering what would happen regarding the language when using this rom. Didn't want to end up with a tablet that uses chinese characters
Thanks for the rom!!

Thanks a lot for keeping an eye out for new firmware. Now, MAYBE I will look into porting my Fry ROM to the P5110. BTW, does anybody know what the differences are between the P5113 and the P5110?
My only note here is that this is not an "official" ROM as stated in the OP, because it's not been released through Kies (the Kies logo next to the ROM on samfirmware). I don't care about that, but other user might. I noticed some of them are sensitive when it comes to stuff like this so you might want to update your post :-D
Thanks again,
C.

You can try this yourself.
Just make a nandroid backup of your current ROM
Flash stock P5110 ROM and root it
Play with the goodies
If you are not satisfied; restore your tablet
I own a P5110 and I have flashed a custom P5113 ROM with no problems whatsoever so the other way around will do just fine, I guess.
I flashed 5110 stuff on my tab with no problems. You might have a few bugs, but YMMV.

Better for who? This ROM is the latest in contrast to the European firmware, with all the goodies like Polaris Office inside.
Beyond that, there are more regions where people buying Samsung stuff then only Europe.
So I totally disagree.

Warning!
It is recommended that you DO NOT wipe data/factory reset your phone after flashing these stock ICS firmwares. You may brick your phone due to the emmc brick bug. Rather you can either:
1. Flash a stock GB firmware from above -----> Wipe data/factory reset -----> Flash a stock ICS firmware. OR
2. Flash stock ICS firmware -----> Flash the secure kernel by ardatdat -----> Wipe data/factory reset.

HOW-TO's & FAQ
HOW-TO Flash a Stock ROM using ODIN:
Note:
A beautifully written detailed Guide at your service! (Thnx to s4sixty:good
Now for the lazy fellas:
Instructions For Flashing Firmware via ODIN:
Extract the downloaded(zip) firmware. You'll get a *.tar.md5 or *.tar file.
Open the Attached Odin
Turn off your device
Put your device into Download MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power)
Connect your device to the PC. Ensure that the COM port in ODIN is highlighted(Yellow).
Click PDA and select the extracted *.tar.md5 or *.tar (Leave everything else as it is!)
Then finally click START!
* Varies to the Firmware you downloaded.
Note: Sometimes ODIN may give you a package invalid error. Rename the file from *.tar.md5 to *.tar and try again!
FYI: (Thnx to our very own selva.simple for sharing this info!:good
The-Droidster: How are the firmware versions coded?
selva.simple: For e.g., in XWKI5,
XW(First 2 letters) denotes the country code which in this case stands for European countries.
K(3rd letter) is the code for 2011(Year). All the firmwares released in 2011 will have K as 3rd letter. For 2012, its L.
The Fourth letter I denotes the month. I is the 9th letter which means September.
And the Fifth letter '5' indicates the build version.

FAQ:
Q. What is this ODIN?
A. Odin or Odin Communicator is a firmware flashing tool for Samsung Phones. Odin Communicator is the same tool that service centers use to fix your phone.
Q. Dude, I got a rooted phone with the best Custom ROM out there and it just rocks. Why the hell do I need these Stock ROM's and ODIN?
A. Stock ROM's and ODIN are your best friends during BootLoops and Soft Bricks. As a xda-developer's user you are bound to try different tweaks and mods on your device. Many a times you do something wrong in the process and hit a BootLoop. Flashing a Stock ROM via ODIN is the best way to revive your phone from the BootLoop:good:. Apart from this flashing a Stock ROM before taking your device to the SSC allows you to claim warranty.Q. In ROM description I saw 3 terms : PDA, CSC and MODEM. What are these?
A. Samsung Stock ROM's come as Kies FUS packages (*.tar.md5 files) that can be split into 3 parts.
PDA/Base Firmware: This is the ROM file a.k.a the Android OS. It contains system apps, default wallpapers and sounds , Android UI and the entire Android Framework. The Official Release version of your Stock ROM is named after this file.
CSC: This is the Country Sales Code file. It contains carrier related files, like carrier specific wallpapers and sounds and bloatwares that we hate the most(Sometimes also called a Customer Specific Customization). CSC includes connection data for the broadband networks & is also responsible for the update you get from Kies.
MODEM/PHONE/BASEBAND: This is the firmware of the wireless chipset of the device and will operate your WiFi, Blutooth and 3G/2G/GSM connections. (ie Radio ROM). Short and Sweet!
Q. OK. But how do I split the downloaded FUS file (*.tar.md5 package) into its component PDA, CSC and MODEM?
A. Thnx to xda RC Doky73:good: we now have a tool that automates this process for us! Its called SplitFUS2!
For Download, Usage and Information visit this thread.. Don't forget to thank him.
Warning: These files are only for Developers to play with! DO NOT flash these via ODIN!Q. Will my Custom Bin Counter increase by flashing these packs via ODIN? a.k.a Will I get the infamous 'Yellow Triangle' at boot?
A. No. Custom Bin Counter increases only when you flash non-stock firmware via ODIN. Bundles provided here are all stock files. Q. How can I extract the Stock Kernel from the Stock Firmware?
A. Rename the downloaded *.tar.md5 file to *.tar. Open it with any zip utility. Inside you'll find many files, one of them is boot.img which is nothing but your Stock Kernel!

One Question.
Can I use my Indian Cache.img from GB in ICS ROM?
This way does it increase space in /system/app?
It was possible for GB, so I thought it should work. Can you tell me if it does?

I don't think packages like cache from GB would work with ICS. It would have been possible had you been doing that with 2 Gingerbread ROM's.
Cache.img along with Hidden.img(only in case of carrier branded ROM's) constitute the CSC which contains the carrier bloatware apps if it is branded(eg. XWLA4 or XXLQ7). So a different cache.img which is unbranded(eg ODDKH4) will not have these bloatware apps. So that would probably save space on /system partition if I'm not wrong.
But yes, the way you're trying to do it, I don't think it would work. We are talking about 2 different versions of the OS here. So there's going to be a difference in the way the rest of the system interacts with the CSC in terms of command protocols!
Was wondering it wouldnt be possible..
Change in baseband too.
But, When we are/were using the Leaked build, our Baseband didnt change did it? In that case It should porbably work with baseband of GB?
Would you agree?
You can try this tool. It creates a CWM flashable zip file out of any cache.img file. So u could create one for the Indian cache.img and flash it through CWM over the Stock ICS XXLQ7 or XXLQ9. If it works, stick to it, else you could restore a previous nand backup or reflash the Stock ICS!
OT: Why are u actually trying to do this? To save space on /system partition or bcoz u want the Indian CSC?
Because I Want Indian CSC. But,it rarely matters.. I Am gonna flash LQ9 today.
Just that, there are no Deodexed Roms based on this..
Frankenstein Mod + Ardatdat kernel is good, but drains my battery alot.
Droidster.. amazing work man..
Small request: you have explained beautifully the cache image in post #16. can you pin the content to the FAQ section as a note ..
Thanks once again.. keep up the super work.. very informative..

You just have to look at the original post at the beginning of this thread.
You go in te Settings menu -->About Device, in that panel, "Baseband Version" corresponds to PHONE (modem), Build number corresponds to PDA
As for CSC, I'm not so sure, but being that the "Carrier Specific Customisation" and being your device a WIFI Only, then I tend to believe that customisation made for a given carrier are not so important.
May be try app from google play as android system info ( free) or so
