Found this on Vibrant forum. You have to complete 5 things on the list from the email to get 50gb. I am trying it out to see if it is still working. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842593
Hit the thanks button if it helps. It's my motivator to be more helpful.
There's items on a list? My response just said: Congrats! You get 48 extra gigs for 24 months!
That being said, I did need to remember to actually check the Dropbox email account, not the normal one.

It didn't ask me to do anything either. Just logged off from comp. Uninstalled from phone. Flashed zip. Logged in from phone. Got the email in a few minutes. Logged in from comp and I now have 50+GB of free space. Nice find.
For those of you who don't wanna have to go through a ton of links to get the info you need here it is:

Two years. Well actually the email I got said 24 months but I'm pretty sure that's 2 years. lol
Also the expiry date in bonus section for me is 2015. Which is, unless the calendar got really confused, 2 years out.
My mistake , still, for me, it would take a whole year to fill it and then I'd have to pay for it to stay...
I'm hosting rom tests there lol
**** 50 free gigs n in two years I won't need my test roms lol
sent from my batcave in space! lol
just my 2 cents here, last month I got a message from Dropbox that too many people tried to download HebMIUI at once and my public links were put down for 3 days.
As you know, HebMIUI is nice but your ROMS are far more popular...

I'll most likely never fill it. I just got it because I could. lol It really is pretty painless and free stuff is always nice.
I am now a Dropbox Guru!
I would be careful with this, I remember a while back xda removed a bunch of these posts. It was because dropbox requested they be removed because the app used to get the free space was "modified" to work on any phone. There is a build/prop check that is modified to allow any phone to get the free space.
Just be mindful of whats in there. And remember shared folders dont count towards your dropbox space limitation. Maybe a sgs4g shared folder would be a option.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Also remember its wise to uninstall this modified app and reinstall the official one after. I think xda removed most of these initially because of password theft claims by dropbox.
Also a reason why it's good to use a random generated password for DB or anything else, and 2 stage authentication so that even if they do get your password, they're unlikely to get it within the 15-30 second window where the generated authenticator code is actually valid...
Worked for me too! Awesome, thank you!

FYI: I know someone who lost the 50 GB after uninstalling this then re-installing the official one. I can't say if it's just a coincidence. I'm not using the app on my phone and I still have the 50 GB after many wipes and flashes of various ROMs.

I seen some of the reports of this happening. I dont think it is too far fetched to say its only fair to the people that have the devices the promotion was directed to. I mean you are deceiving the company into thinking you have that device.

It has been a long time since I had looked at the Gameloft wapshop and so I went to reownload some of my games that I had purchased before. I had at one time bought Sacred Odyssey but now its missing from my downloads and no longer showing up in the store. I sent an email requesting they send me the apk for it. Anyone know why that GL game is no longer showing up? I bought it but never played it, hence why I was wanting to start playing it.
The purchase history system of the wapshop just sucks... it often purges things from the list after a month of purchase. It's still in their records, and likely in yours too depending on what method of payment you used, but they're largely relying on you to keep your APK backed up. Sacred Odyssey's still in your purchase history, you just can't see it from that page.
If they're gonna be so resistant to move ALL their games to the official Android market, they need to at least make an Amazon Appstore style app that you can log in to, purchase games, view trophies, read/reply to messages/friend requests and view complete purchase history.

I got my Sacred Odyssey apk in an email, and all it does it force close. I can download the files, but then everytime I attempt to load the game it force closes, even wiping the games cache and trying again, same results. Any ides?
That game's known for having spotty reliability.
Sometimes, it'll FC too much to even get through one dungeon... then there's other times when I can play it for a couple hours without any problems.

I am on Verizon, 2.3.3 Apparently 2.3.3 it does not work, but 2.3.2 or 2.3.4 and above it does work. I see it in my gameloft wapshop but after downloading it and trying to install the sd card files are stuck at 1mb remaining and wil not download anymore. Even then my friend has rhe same phone on 2.3.3 Verizon and it wont even load up the game. I borrowed his files and same with mine, it force closes every time. I think it was TL Thery said its an issue that GL has yet to fix. So I paid $5 for a game that is useless to me.
Have you tried contacting gameloft? I find them to be quite useful thus far

Yes, I have. 3 times, and 2 thread posts on their forums. No response. I once had a reply to an email 5 months after I sent it and by that time I already had a new phone and was told I would need to re-buy all my games. That is ridiculous
Money grabbers, I just wish to God they would support the android market completely and stop this crap.
Strange as I pretty much always get a response the next day. Didn't it say (when purchasing the game) that if you have any problems then contact (game loft email address)? It did for me on the games I bought and then I could access the page through my browser history save click on the email.

I appreciate you asking for me, I absolutely have no idea why about 98% of my emails go unanswered, I mean beyond the "we have recieved your email and you will be contacted shortly" thing. I made a big post over on the GL forums venting my frustrations and was told if I didnt modify my posting I would be banned, so I modified completely stating I had edited it do to pressure of being banned, and then posted that I have no other way of getting through to somone about the issues, then I finally got a reply to the thread saying it was going to investigated, but have yet to actually get any contact back from them, I'll give it a week, hopefully it wont be that long but I will be shocked if they contact me back about it.

They give you list of thing you have to do
Put on phone, computer, email it to a friend, ect. I think I got the instructions in a email after I signed in
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
"To get the free storage users simply need to sign into Dropbox when setting up the device. Alternatively, after they set up the device, users can launch the pre-installed Dropbox app to get the free storage. After two years users will have to pay to continue using their extra storage space, or risk losing their content."
Here's a question worth asking as it may effect some of you......
I already have a FREE 50GB addition for 2 years by purchasing an SGS3. That now expires in 18 months time.
This week I purchased a SGN 10.1 which I 'supposedly' assumed it too would have the offer of a FREE 50GB addition for 2 years.
However, looking at my account I notice the Note 10.1 is not mentioned in my account.
I would have thought one of two things would have happened:-
1. My account increased from 50GB to 100GB based on the fact I have 2 x Samsung products each with a FREE 50GB for 2 years.
2. My account FREE 2 year expire date would have been amended to the date I added my Note 10.1 to Dropbox.
At the moment it looks like although you get an initial FREE 50GB for 2 years, it doesn't matter if you purchase another Samsung product during that period, you don't get any further FREE extension.
Here's hoping I am wrong.................
You're not wrong. I activated two Galaxy Note 10.1s and didn't get the additional space.
You have to go through your tablet, and then work all of the steps. In the end you get the extra space. I did. Multiple threads on this.
Not everyone gets the space. Unless you mean the hack, that I haven't tried.
From Dropbox's own page:
Is my Samsung phone eligible for the free space promotion?
If you have a brand new Samsung phone with Dropbox already installed, you may be eligible to earn 48GB of free space for up to two years. Here's how:
Complete Get Started
The most common reason people have not yet received their free space is because they have not yet finished the quests on the Get Started tab. To claim your extra space, complete five of the seven quests from Get Started. Please note, some steps require your desktop computer.
Is Dropbox pre-loaded?
Dropbox must be pre-loaded on your new Samsung phone to be eligible for the promotion.
The first account that signs up will get 48GB of free space, provided you have completed Get Started.
Each account is only able to claim this promotion once.
Non-participating carriers
Select carriers have opted-out of the promotion on phones otherwise eligible. Among those not currently participating are:
United States: AT&T, Verizon
Japan: NTT DoCoMo
Korea: SK Telecom

IF you qualify, those are the steps, as verified by Dropbox, to get the space. If you don't qualify there there should be no question. Your device will tell you if you qualify.
Dropbox settings and requirements between my two Samsung devices are the same but it is only the first device that has been given the additional space (as mentioned by blud7).
In a way I do understand with both machines running from the same account it may not be increased..... But it is a shame Dropbox do not at the least role over the additional 48GB expiry date based on the last machine the account is running on.
I used another/alternative gmail account just for the extra space. The account is mainly used for when i join mailing lists etc to keep junk email to a minimum on my main account.

When going thru the setup on the device, sign in when asked and complete setup.
Launch the app on the note, you will receive an email stating your account has been upgraded.

There are 7 or 8 steps to complete before you can have the extra space. It's a list that checks you off as you complete the steps. That's what you did?

I just finnished getting my 50GB DropBox space. I had thought I was not going to get it as I got the app got the dropbox and then nothing. So I went to dropbox via my laptop and there was a statement that I had 5 things to complete to get my extra 48GB storage and there was a list of I think 8 items and the one for the app was marked complete. The ones I did was take the tour, download dropbox for my laptop, create a share folder and send an invite to my wife's email to share my dropbox once those 5 things were done it said completed and I had my 50GB.

Yes, did all that, sorry but thought I had said all that before.
With all the steps done I can't think of anything more to do.
In my Dropbox Settings/Bonus Space it simply is not showing another Samsung product and thus not adding an additional 48GB of allowance.

I didn't get an email either I found the statement on the website when I signed on.
i've always been curious and thought i should ask to see if anyone knows. I know Dropbox and Samsung did a promotion where you activate your phone/tablet and you get 50gb of Dropbox for free for 2 years. What happens with all of that storage when 2 years is up? Do you lose all of it and everything that is in that Dropbox or are you given a less amount of storage for everything you've uploaded? Just thought of this.
You will have to pay for the extra storage or lose what you have.
well that sucks then. Thanks for the quick reply
It does suck but it will be awesome for 2 years. That might give you enough time to have friends sign up and get you extra storage.

I'm pretty sure that's wrong, I recently had an old Dropbox promo expire and they don't delete your files, you just can't add anything to your Dropbox until you remove enough stuff from it to get your total file size under your new storage cap.
Hello,
I recently received a second hand Google Pixel. It was running selfish N2G470 Sailfish 7.1.2. Upon further inspection I realized it was also OEM from Google. Once I purchased a Type-C charger to see if the phone even worked, I quickly realized it had the FRP locking activated and no way into the phone.. After days of Dead End video's, Out Dated Guides, and pointless APK files, I continued searching for a solution. A few days later, while shopping on EBay, I ran across a remote FRP service that said they would remote in using Team Viewer and have it completed within 1 hour after making initial contact with me after the purchase. I was skeptal. But the money was protected through PayPal and it was only $10.00. Soon after, I am contacted, remotely assisted, and step by step guide on the pixel itself and 15 min later, through the FRP Lock. I should have taken better instructions when he was telling me over video chat but, he left the version of platform tools on my pc, as well as his custom apk files and image's (it updated to 8.0 after frp bybass) Anyone interested in the files he left behind on my computer that he download from his server let me know. He used fastboot and adb. Let me know. If you know what your doing, it might help. I can kinda help guide you through the steps on the phone, my girl took a few notes on paper as well. I wanted to get this info out now, but I will come back soon with an updated tutorial. :good:

Where does one receive a second hand Pixel? If it was a hand-me-down couldn't you just ask the user to log in and remove their account from the device? Even if you bought it from a stranger they could have given you their Google password and then immediately changed it after you removed the account yourself. And just for curiosity, how much does a second hand Pixel cost?
it would probably help some people, yes.
If you post them, perhaps try posting them to a few different file sharing places; ie MEGA, rapidshare, etc so they can be shared for a while without being taken down.
Thanks for helping the community.

Doesn't matter if you sold the phone. Anything under the table is implied as is. No amount of money is worth your own person security. You should never under any circumstance tell anyone any of your passwords ever for any reason whatsoever
Edit: the right thing to do of course would be to remove accounts before frp or to be on-site when they set up their phone but not everyone even knows about frp and even less of the general public will know how to actually remove accounts

Under the table? What exactly does that mean? Illegal? You either delete your emails and change your pwd or pay the price. Let's not get crazy here. It's just an email password for perhaps 2 minutes to make some money that is "under the table". If you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen.
Under any circumstances, ever, whatsoever? Come on.. call me paranoid. Figure out how to do it safely. I'm sure we have the mental capacity to do something like that. Or refund the money.. simple.

Under the table? What exactly does that mean? Illegal? You either delete your emails and change your pwd or pay the price. Let's not get crazy here. It's just an email password for perhaps 2 minutes to make some money that is "under the table". If you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen.

No I'm not saying illegal I'm saying any direct transaction from one person to another like anything not done through an actual retailer. And no you really shouldn't be giving out passwords at all for any reason. Having that information for 2 minutes can create a window for someone to figure out your typical password structure or cross reference a fair bit of information that could lead to access to a lot more than what was intended. Again I'm not saying that not properly wiping the device so someone else can use it is okay, but I am saying it is not the responsibility of the seller to give you any passwords or personally identifiable information. It is also the responsibility of the buyer to know and ask about potential frp situations or at least understand the implied "as is" condition when buying really anything directly off of someone else.
You make a good point. Although I still think the seller has the responsibility to sell the device so it can be used by the buyer. That seems to be implied by selling it. Almost like I'm selling you my car but.. well sorry dude .. you can't have the keys. Not my problem but yours since the car is in your driveway.
Well selling a car is kinda different and has actual legal restrictions to prevent that such as title transfers etc
Hi everybody!
I'm having issues with battery life, I noticed that much of the battery is consumed by the android system process, and therefore of all the many samsung packages.
I would like to know if anyone has a list of packages that can be safely removed from oreo, after I will remove them with adb commands. I would like to use an app as a package disabler, but now these apps appear and disappear too often from the store and the feedback leave me a little confused.
Can anyone help me?
All the info is already on the forums (read a few threads )

Thanks bro! The only bad thing is that I had already bought the app some time ago, I dont know if it was from this developer or a similar one from another developer, unfortunately I only remember that I used it together with an additional plugin... now I dont find it in my shopping list...

If it has a price over the install button saying Buy, you did not buy it with this Google account, either find the account you purchased it through and log into Google Play with that, or buy it again

I believe you didnt understand mate...
I bought these apps twice, with the same account, my only one. And both apps I bought have disappeared from the store, like their developers. In my Gmail I still have the purchase invoices, opening the links of the developers dont appear to me anything, they disappeared and, probably, reappear with other names.
Reading on the forum it seems I'm not the only one to have noticed that these developers appear and reappear, so users have to repurchase the app every time

Well yea, if the original app is removed, then a new one appears in it's place, then it is a different app, even if it does the same thing / seems identical, maybe the dev sold it to someone else who has re-upped it under a different name, either way you'd need to buy it again

I don't think so... In the mail invoice that google send when you make a purchase there is always a contact email from the developer near his name.
The contact email that I see in my old invoice is identical to the contact email that is here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpremium
So I would say that the developer is always the same, He simply likes to reappear always with different names so as to take more money from those who are forced to buy back the app every time, it's simply a dishonest trick

I guess if you want to disable packages, it's gonna cost £2~ every time you reset your phone if it gets blacklisted, I've only reset my phone once in 12 months, £2 odd every 12 months is fine
At least there is a non root option
In the end, after 2 days, the developer replied giving me a code to redeem the app for free from the store.
Now with Package disabler pro (with that xml list) and Greenify, the battery life goes a bit better. I do about 4h of screen on (compared to before I was about 2h30m).
