[Q] Installing Multiwindows App - Galaxy Note 10.1 Themes and Apps

Just wondering if I install Multi Windows App in my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will there be any problem ? I made the Multi Windows App with a tool . Thx

I dont know what app your talking about. Here is what I've learned. You can install a couple programs on your computer and modify which apps you want to multi window capable. Then sideload them back into your tablet.
Or you can install the multiwindow manager and just select which apps you want multiwindow capable. The manager makes the necessary changes and wha-la!!! You have more multiwindow apps.
Download the multiwindow manager here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36215151
I have been using it and have had absolutely NO ill effects from it!!!!
Edit : I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 running 4.1.2

[18 JAN] [MOD] Unlimited MultiWindow Apps [EUCMA3 & XXCMA1 Added]

What does this Mod Do?
This mod will give you "unlimited" multiwindow apps and a minimize button for windows. Also enabled double tap on titlebar to maximize windows.
NEW UPDATE 18 January 2013
Just added Unlimited MultiWindow Mod for N8013-UEUCMA3 & N8000-XXCMA1 and updated N8000_XXCLL3. I hope this new update will give you unlimited multiwindow apps without needing to mod apks or edit the csc file. As I do not have a note10.1 to test it, please let me know if it works.
Some info about the Resize Button that appears on the control bar or bottom right of every opened app. The JB 4.1.2 has the necessary code that put the Resize button on every supported app while the JB 4.1.1 doesn't. The only way to put the Resize button on every app for JB 4.1.1 is to insert the missing code fragment from the 4.1.2 to the 4.1.1 located in android.policy.jar (MultiPhoneWindowEvent$SwithToPreviousSizeButton.smali). Or modding the apps apk and specifically inserting the necessary multiwindow code and dimensions. That is a lot of work and impossible for me to do without a test device. Add to that the fact that smali is a totally foreign language.
Information about the Flashable Files.
There are now 2 options for each ROM version. For example, N8000-XXCMA1.UnlimitedApps will give you unlimited multiwindow apps. Whereas, N8000-XXCMA1.useMultiWindowManagerApp will display all apps on the traybar but wont display as MultiWindow unless enabled with bjbinc's MultiWindow Manager App. So basically the traybar becomes a launcher for both multiwindow and non-multiwindow apps. If an app has been multiwindow-enabled then it will display as multiwindow but if not multiwindow enabled, it will load as a normal fullscreen app. Both versions contain the minimize button and the double-tap to maximize feature. I tried my best to enable 4wayReboot options (even though I haven't tested it) and added Circle Battery theme.
How to install?
1. Make a nandroid backup to be safe. It is essential that you always make a backup.
2. You need to be on a rooted deodex ROM preferably unmodified framework files.
3. Download the appropriate mod for your rom/device below and flash thru CWM recovery.

So I tried to make a patch to enable Unlimited Apps for Multiwindow which may or may not work for Note10.1 that is why I call it a "Test" for those who are willing to try. This is the same patch I made to enable unlimited multiwindow apps for my floating multiwindows mod for note n7000 which basically brings the features of note10.1 to note1. I included a CWM flashable restore file in case you want to go back.
How to install?
Make a nandroid backup to be safe. You need to be on a rooted XXCLL3 ROM preferably unmodified framework files.Just download the UnlimitedMultiwindowApps.mod.zip file and flash thru CWM recovery. To restore, just flash the restore.orig.zip.
Important Information:
Apps which are not specifically modded for multiwindows do not appear on the traybar but when you launch them on the homescreen or drawer, they have the "multiwindow button" at the top right or bottom right to make them into a floating window. The trick is to install a launcher like swipepad and launch it as a window and almost all apps that you launch on swipepad will launch in window mode. Swipepad in window mode will serve as replacement for the traybar to launch windowed apps. Give it a try.
Warning: Flash this at your own risk. I am not responsible if you brick your device.

Thanks I will try it when i reach come, but if your rom is based on a real note 10.1 rom then in theory it should work or it should be modified allittle more to work on our note
Thank you very much!:thumbup: It works really fine. The only thing. l can't resize the windows. The windows ever in full screen mode. Can't change it.

Try to set window layout to cascade mode. If it does not resize, maybe the framework-res.apk needs to be altered as well.

yeah, in all Multiwindow apps except the already built in ones by Samsung.
Thanks! This is a good modification.
However, this modification only works with the visualization to cascade mode and the dimension of the reduced windows with the modification is much more big of those redoubts with the multiwindows original.

The mod is fully working now Thank You for taking an intrest in our device and making this work!!
Works on Redemption ROM. I have one app that crashes from the mod. It is a rotation control app that does not need the multiscreen feature. Is there a way I can manually fix this? I may be able to fix it myself if I knew how your mod works. Thanks for the awesome work. Our Note 10.1's will put iPad users to shame.
Update:
I fixed my issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I'll have to see if it still works after a reboot too.

After I flashed part 1 I lost my external sdcard mount.
But when I rebooted it looks like it's working.
Do I have to flash part 2 also?
Till now everything is working fine with just part one.
What does part 2 do?
One thought, the icons is in the bottom right corner, just at the same effect place as the "enter" key in SwiftKey tablet.
So I often press that button instead of the enter.
Otherwise working outstanding mate!
These mods make a good tablet great!!!!

[Q] Stock - Multi-Window Limitations

With the various MODs:
[18 JAN] [MOD] Unlimited MultiWindow Apps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069173
MultiWindow App http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2039710
What are the limitations of Multi-Window capabilities of STOCK, Without MODs in 4.1.2?
Asking because it might be a cost benefit decision when something like Google Wallet comes around that requires non-rooted ROMs to work.
So what Multi-Window abilities are missing in the Stock 4.1.2 ROM?
I am running stock rooted N8013 on 4.1.2
I have noticed any limitations or any areas where I'm missing out on anything due having stayed on stock 4.1.2. It should be noted that to use the multiwindow manager app you will need to be rooted.
Also I have noticed that it is best to open an app from the chevron drawer for multi windows instead of clicking the little double boxes in the corner. I have found some app do not resize.properly if you go multi window mode by clicking the little boxes in the corner vs. Using the chevron drawer. When I start multiwindow mode through the chevron drawer everything sizes and scales properly.
Did that answer your question?
Edit: after reading your post again. I see that I didn't answer your question as I am using a root required app. I can not answer about the two conversion programs. One thing I have read is that once you convert them and side load them back on to your tablet, they won't automatically update that way. Meaning when you update them you will have to pull them again, modify them, and then side load them again. I can say that I have updated apps and nit had any problems with losing multi window capabilites using the multiwindow app manager.
Could you please advise me if the youtube app is available in the stock, unrooted, multi window drawer on the 4.1.2 update?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
So if I understand you correctly, multi window capability is limited to very few Apps WITHOUT ANY MODS.
But WITH mods, it's available to all apps.
??
Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 2
As I understand , if you are runnind 4.1.2 you can use the application modding programs (requires use of computer running windows) and modify the apps you want to make multi-window capable. I am under the impression that the number of apps that are built in with multi window capability on 4.1.2 is limited. If your willing to root , it would be as easy as rooting, using triangle away app to hide / erase your rooted status from samsung / google and then install the multi window manager. Then you can simply pick which apps you want to have multi window capability.

MultiWindow Control App {added LSZ support}

OPTION 1 : For DEODEX Roms Only
If you have a note 2, maybe you are familiar with the MultiWindow Control App (MWC) by legendk95. The MultiWindow Control app, as the name implies, controls which apps are added on the Multiwindow bar (flashbar). You can find out more about it HERE. It was only available for note 2 users until now. I got curious the other night and thought I would like to find out how legendk95's mod works so I sort of reverse engineered his note 2 files and luckily I was successful. I asked his permission and he allowed me to share it with you. Credit and donations goes to him. So here it goes.
How to install?
Be sure you are on a rooted deodex rom - XXLSZ, XXLSC, UBLS4 or ZSLM5. Make a nandroid backup.
Download the flashable file for your rom version below and just flash thru CWM recovery.
Download and install MWC app below or for the latest version go HERE.
Launch the MWC app and select your apps. When you are finished selecting apps, press the back button and it will ask to kill Multiwindow bar. Press kill it then check the Multiwindow bar for the apps you selected. Videos of the app in action are available HERE.
Note: This mod is only for stock multiwindow, ie flashbar tray (not floating multiwindows).
OPTION 2 : For rooted ODEX & DEODEX Roms
As suggested by mscion, you can use the XposedMultiWindow.apk (credit and thanks to scalee for the module) you can find HERE if you are already using the Xposed Framework by rovo89. This module will give you unlimited apps on the multwindow bar without having to flash anything which means it should work for both ROOTED DEODEX and ODEX ROMS. To install, you must have Xposed Framework installer installed first (some info HERE) and just install the XposedMultiwindow.apk module and enable it in Xposed Installer then reboot.
Re: MultiWindow Control App { LSC, LS4 & LM5}
Nice 1
just thinking of same thing and its already here... nice...
So first of all we need to deodex LM5 then flash this mod which is long and too much trouble for me.
doing one. but still noob with it and dont dare to release it to others...
Many thanks Mate...

MultiWindow Control App vs. XposedMultiwindow.apk
HI. I have a Tmobile Galaxy Note 2. To allow all apps for mulitview I used the XposedMultiwindow.apk. This immediately puts all apps on the screen you get when pressing edit in multiview to transfer to the multiview bar. The MultiWindow Control App seems to require you to select apps to put on the edit screen which you then again select to put on the multiview bar. Is this correct? If so, why would this be preferable over XposedMultiwindow. Perhaps as an overall framework to do things the MultiWindow Control App is a better approach? Anyways, just asking!
Yay! I used second option on LM5 and it works no need to deodex my rom :good:
Thanks
was planning on staying on pure stock LM5
but looks like i gotta root now
Just added mod support for XXLSZ Roms. See OP for details.

[GUIDE] Enable Floating Apps on Samsung Leaked KitKat Rom 4.4.2

INTRODUCTION
After the flash of the leaked 4.4.2 ROM from Samsung I noticed that floating apps were removed! So I looked around for a solution but didn't find anything useful to have them.
Then I tried (with no hope) to use the miracolous app of our @xperiacle! I realized that Samsung didn't remove (for now) the floating apps feature, differently from Note 2014 and Note 3 (yes, they lost this feature with the kitkat update according to Xperiacle).
Requirements
- Note 10.1 (1st edition) (ONLY N8000!!!!!)
- KitKat 4.4.2 Leaked ROM from Samsung (NO AOSP ROMS!!!!) (if you want to flash the rom just follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732797)
- Root
DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible for any damage the device, you or your house get, following this guide. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Guide
- Download from Play Store MultiWindow Plus : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.xperiacle.multiwindowplus&hl=it (please buy it to support the development of our genious @xperiacle)
- Open it and select in Multiwindow Mode : Plus (doesn't matter if you get : INCOMPATIBLE Device/ROM)
- Select Both or Dockable. The selection depends on your personal preference. If you want floating apps and quad view multiwindow select BOTH, if you want only floating apps select DOCKABLE.
- Reboot the device
Now you can swipe from the right side of the screen and tap only one time on the icon of the you want to make float
Additional feature
If you want to select other apps that doesn't support multiwindow feature you can :
- Download Pen Windows Manager from Play Store (created obviously by @xperiacle ) : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.xperiacle.penwindowmanager
- Open the app and select the apps you want in the right sidebar
- If you don't see the apps in your sidebar then you have to swipe to show it, tap on the = at the bottom of the screen, tap on Modify and drag the apps from the left to the sidebar.

Please tell me if this works for you ! Waiting for your feedback !
Thanks to :
- @izap for the original files of the rom
- @Cypresshill555 for the rooted rom on a flashable zip
- @xperiacle for his awesome apps
If you think I have to give you credits for something, please send me a pm!

If you edit build.prop to recognize your device as Note pro 12.2, you can install it. (There's a guide here in forum). However, if you use N8000 as a phone also, i think phone apk will force close with this tweak.

Thanks a bunch for this!! Just one comment. For clarity the OP Additional Features section should read something like:
If you want to select apps that don't support multiwindows or that don't support floating window mode you can:
- Download Pen Windows Manager from Play Store
because some apps that support multiwindow mode dual or 4-way mode don't support floating windows mode until you enable it with Pen Windows Manager.
Thanks again.
